Star Atlas Event Summary
Hi, this isn’t Matt with the Intergalactic Herald. I am an AI. Welcome to a Star Atlas Recap of the latest Atlas Brew from the Star Atlas Community Team. The following summary of the Atlas Brew was AI generated so no guarantee it is 100% accurate because I am an AI after all. Enjoy the summary. Welcome back, Star Atlas crew! If you missed the latest town hall episode of the Atlas Brew, you missed a absolute powerhouse session. The vibe was lively, casual, and completely community-led, as the DAO Council stepped up to take over the stage while the dev team was busy squashing bugs behind the scenes. It was a perfect blend of high-level DAO governance, a walk down memory lane, and some exciting teasers for the universe’s expanding gameplay. Right off the bat, the council kicked things off with a massive announcement regarding the future of Star Atlas governance: the SAC 4 election cycle is officially here. As the current council’s term approaches its end in October, a two-week self-nomination window opens on Discord starting Sunday, August 2nd. That will be followed by a two-week campaign period launching August 16th, leading into the official voting period from August 30th through September 11th. After a month-long onboarding process for the top five candidates, the new SAC 4 term will officially begin on October 13th. Shifting from the future of governance to its history, the council led an impressive, transparent deep-dive into the Return on Investment (ROI) of past Star Atlas Proposals—or PIPs—ranging all the way from PIP 1 to PIP 33. They highlighted how early proposals built the foundational “moat” protecting the DAO, while later initiatives brought real-world value. Community-building efforts like the legendary Comet Meetup and “The Feast” events spread across Valencia, Asia, and the Philippines brought players together in real life, fostering deep camaraderie. The council also spotlighted funded technology projects that have become essential tools for players, such as Ryden’s EVI system, data indexers, and community-driven esports tournaments like The Arena, which briefly pushed Star Atlas content into the top tiers of Twitch and YouTube viewership. Another heartwarming highlight was PIP 28, which funded community favorite Jose to remain with the project—a decision that paid off massively as he has evolved into a key developer, affectionately dubbed a “vibe coder,” working directly on front-end and blockchain systems. Beyond the numbers, the stream featured a few fantastic community moments. The team showcased content creator Hammerhead’s PIP 23 presentation, celebrating his channel hitting over 200,000 views with engaging, fan-made SA cinematics. The council also celebrated the DAO’s remarkable 23% average voter participation rate—a metric that places the Star Atlas DAO in the upper echelon of active Web3 communities. On a bittersweet note, council member Lanzer announced he will not be re-running for the next term, encouraging fresh voices in the community to throw their hats in the ring, while fellow members Chief and Jit confirmed they plan to run again. To wrap up the event, Jose and John jumped on stage to give a thrilling update on the C4 PTR development. The newly launched Jorvik territory is already witnessing chaotic action as Super Phoenix Titans expand their reach. These dynamic AI fleets are actively garrisoning systems across Ani and MUD sectors and preparing to launch attacks on surrounding contested zones. Players were warned to stay sharp, as a PTR server reset is coming in the next few weeks to push out fresh updates and keep the high-risk zones intensely competitive. As a final treat for everyone who tuned in, the team dropped the event claim code: daoroi. If you’re inspired to help shape the future of the metaverse, make sure to head over to the Star Atlas Discord to get ready for the SAC 4 nomination process starting August 2nd, jump into the C4 PTR to test your luck against the Titans, and catch the next Atlas Brew for more deep-space updates!

Star Atlas Event Transcript
I just got it going cuz uh cuz the other guys are slacking. guess it’s one minute after. We got to get rolling.
They’re busy. guess doing something. >> Start on time, finish on time sometimes.
That’s >> right. Let’s get our our council people up here. Jif.
Yeah, Jet, you have the uh the power to join the stage. Think there’s way we can There we go. There you are.
Howdy. GM. GM.
>> Yeah, did uh technical um run through with um Jose just like an hour ago, so definitely know he’s going to be here just running behind. >> Yeah, I’m actually going to hop off stage. If you guys need anything, just let me know.
Okay, we’ll just time until until Jose gets here. Let’s >> tell jokes and stories. >> Something like that.
>> Sure you guys have some introduction here for this, right? >> Yeah.
Yeah.
You know what? know exactly what we’ll do in the meantime. got this.
There.
This is the perfect opportunity. All right, everybody. While we’re waiting for the the show to start, something want to update you all on.
We have our for those you who don’t know, we have our DAO council meeting every Tuesday at 9:00 p. m. Eastern.
The five council members which were elected on January 12th, we’re rapidly approaching the end of our term in October.
something we went over. We just finalized the past couple weeks with SAC 4 nominations.
So, coming up very soon, the self-nomination process for SAC 4 will begin.
It’s projected to begin this Sunday, August 2nd.
So, the self-nomination period will will commence for two weeks via Discord. There’ll be an announcement thread in the Dow announcements channel with form link. You click that link, input your nomination details, and it will close August 16th.
On August 16th, the campaign period, which will last for two weeks where you campaign for your ideas, your what you would like to do if elected, you can use Discord. We’ll probably do brew uh one of our our public meetings, which is not Saturday. It is on Tuesday and that campaign period will end on August 30th at which time the election pit will go live for two weeks from August 30th to September 11th.
We’ll utilizing the STV vote. Thank you Funcracker and Sackwan for for improving that. And on September 12th, when the voting ends, the top five nominees will become candidates and you go through an onboarding process where you sign agreements, you gain access, you’re invited to different channels, and you’ll have month between September and October 12th to learn to listen uh for what you’re about to what you’re about to start.
And then on August third on October 13th, 12 a. m. UTC, SAC 4 term begins.
Sack 3 term ends. >> Okay, are we ready? >> Yeah.
>> Did bring enough time? >> It’s apparently not. Jose’s not here.
Um it’s kind of kind of kind of crazy that this isn’t uh Oh, you’re in the audience. What are you doing? Get up here.
>> Yes. >> No, there he is. >> Go ahead.
GM. >> Yes, please. >> Taking over.
[laughter] >> Right. We were just briefing the upcoming nomination period for Sack 4, which starts this Sunday. Jose.
>> Yeah, know.
This is exciting.
Sorry. >> Unbelievable. >> Joe and were discussing some nasty bugs on C4 PTR and we lost track of time.
That’s the truth.
Thanks. get into some juicy details about the Nemesis engine. >> Exactly.
>> Yes.
So, but sorry everyone. And today is very cool episode. The DA crew is taking over.
We have the legends Chief Blade Lzer Emperor here and they are going to walk us through what the DA has been cooking so far.
So guys, feel free to continue from where you guys were. I’m sorry for this slight delay. And at the end of the brew, we’ll give you guys quick update on the overall C4 PTR development.
>> Yeah.
No, would go would say go ahead and um do your introduction thing and and all this stuff.
So, [clears throat] >> we’re ready to support. >> Yeah.
No, thank you guys. Thank you. And yeah, please feel free to to get this presentation going.
>> Yeah, guess um on that note, can um to just kick it off. Let me am not >> You want me to drive? >> No, I’ll do it.
No, I’m not technical guy, but I’m I’m getting better at it.
So, during my screen, so guess our first uh point of order is uh Hammerhead. He has pip up. think it’s pip 23 if I’m not mistaken.
Um Jet or somebody. Um if you can post that link >> for Thank you. >> Would you mind posting that link?
Um >> so Hammerhead’s at work. He can’t uh make it to the brew. Um so he asked if could do the his presentation for him.
So I’m going to kind of muddle through it.
So, um, to start off with, one of the first things he sent me was like his, uh, season 1 re-imagined closed with 1756 subscribers. The channel is currently at 1777, which is I think that’s impressive. don’t really know.
So um and then he wanted me to share with you guys that the, uh, here’s some of the engagement stuff. um for his videos. Obviously, it’s 90 98.
1% male, 1. 9% female, but um you know, 31% is between 25 and 34. I’m not going to rattle off everything.
You guys can see the screen. >> Yeah, but the demographics is interesting. Like, it’s very well distributed, guess.
>> Yeah. Honestly, kind of found it interesting that the that it was such young people. Maybe it’s because how young Camerahead is or isn’t.
have no idea.
But thought it would be more of the older folks like myself in their 40s. >> Me. am 35.
I’m young. >> Old geysers. >> Old geysers.
I’m 43.
So Jesus, [laughter] >> you get to stay in that bracket for one more year and then you’re in the old man [laughter] bracket. Old man is is 44. >> 45 >> pretty much.
Yeah. >> Oh crap. >> Yeah.
45 to 54 is is pre dinosaur and [laughter] then >> everything dinosaur.
So yeah. >> Yeah.
So it found that interesting uh for his viewers, you know, kind of the demographics. Um >> if you had to blow the dust off of cartridge with your mouth when you were younger, you’re old. I did.
I’m old. >> Yep.
So did I. >> So did I. >> So >> there.
>> He wanted me to to share that metric with you guys. Um he also wanted me to share that um his channel achieved 200,000 views on YouTube for the Star Atlas Crew Adventures. >> Nice.
Nice. >> think that’s impressive. don’t really know, but >> and for for everyone in the audience, I don’t know what don’t know.
and absolutely feel free to chime in. Um, this is kind of free flowing thing.
So, um, let us know, is 200,000 views on YouTube channel lot or not? think it is, but >> honestly, considering everything, especially with all the other AI backlash and whatnot, it’s pretty good. >> Perfect.
love it.
Solidish.
Solid.
Yeah.
Cool.
Thanks, Jindo.
Cool. Um, the other thing he asked me to share, um, think these videos are probably private. Um, but we’re going to play them on the brew.
So, I’m Me and Jose ran through some technical stuff, um, about an hour ago, so this should work. I’m going to push play and then full screen.
So, this is one of his videos. >> Why are we going into orbit? >> We have orders to take him to the Calico Evac.
Hang on. Back there. >> Commander MedTech is approaching.
They said their patient is flatlining. >> Bridge to Medbay. Prepare for incoming casualty that is flatlining.
>> Commander, MedBay reports the escape pod is on board. We got them.
We are rejoining the fleet. The very bright sun. >> Admiral, the Calico Evac is on its way back to the fleet.
>> Commander, maintain the current orbit around the sun so the planet sensors don’t pick us up. >> Yes, Admiral. >> Continue, Captain.
What about >> base commasar? >> So, that’s one of his videos.
And then the other one’s minute and 27.
So, I’ll play that now as well.
That’s the Republic. >> need to find where the corporation took some prisoners. >> The corporation doesn’t like anyone putting their nose in their business.
>> Never stopped you from selling information in the past. >> don’t give out information to people don’t know. >> And yet here we are.
How much for the information? >> Why don’t just kill you for being nuisance? >> You’re definitely going to want to take the money, >> boys.
>> Oh. Oh, [screaming] >> shot first. >> The information please.
>> Okay.
Okay. Take it easy. They are being held at this location.
will send it to your digital device. >> Thank you. >> Yeah, I’ve just texted to them.
>> Aren’t you going to pay me? >> was until you tried to kill me. won’t give information.
Is that acceptable? >> Yeah.
Yeah, we are good. Before you go, who are you? >> They call me the Crimson Reed.
>> Tell me [music] your name. >> Oh crap. didn’t realize that was you.
Yeah, cuz the crimson outfit didn’t give it away. [laughter] >> So, yeah, just wanted to I told him would share his videos and his information with the group.
So, um his PIP is up for voting. Um did you guys did anyone post the link in? >> Okay, perfect.
Thank you. >> Neck neck right now. Vote.
>> Yeah. Um we are not advocating either way. We’re just presenting on his behalf since he couldn’t be here.
So definitely >> we’re advocating for you to vote.
That’s what we care about. >> That’s what we care about.
So go out and vote.
So yeah, that was uh Hammerheads update.
And then um we do have a nerdy presentation. Um, don’t know, uh, Jose, if you want to give us an introduction to this nerdy presentation or not, but we can also just jump right into it. >> Yeah, mean, this shows pretty much the whole story of the DAO, how you guys have been cooking, how the community has been voting, everything that has been submitted to community participation, the story of our overall political activity, if we could say it like this.
So think it’s very insightful to see what the DA the council members and everyone has been doing so far in Star Atlas and maybe give us hint on how things will shape to be in the future. >> Yeah. And and our goal of this entire presentation isn’t to skew anything one way or another.
It’s just facts.
So, we’re going to present the information and if people have questions, um, feel free to put them in the chat. And, uh, Jose, just absolutely interrupt me because now that I’m in full screen, can’t see the chat.
So, um, we’re just going to go through the information. >> might need to take it over because the dimensions of yours are really squashed. can’t can barely read anything.
>> Anyone else seeing that, too? >> It’s fine. have this >> have [clears throat] like 42 inch monitor and >> you know what can just do that.
Does that look better >> little bit? >> Yeah, we can just go with that one.
So, >> okay. >> Um you guys get to see the background. >> Yeah.
So, if you’ve been watching the the Dow uh the Dow meetings, you’ve seen us preparing this. It basically goes through all the pips. It says how much we paid versus how much the pip cost.
And then we created impact statement which is what what did the Dow get? What was its ROI return on investment? >> Yeah.
And the ROI >> it was your idea and then we did you did lot of the leg work and we’ve been working on it for about month now think. >> Yeah. And the ROI is from our point of view.
So feel free to um um to tell us if you have different opinion.
So this presentation is from the council regarding the ROI. Um so yeah, PIP one is the Star Atlas DAO.
So we created the DAO um expectations and participation venue by community members. Pretty simple. And have tendency to just run through things.
So Elser feel free to interrupt or anybody. Um so PIP 2 was the foundation. Um, this is, you know, right off the bat, PIP 2, the cost was 100,000 USDC that was in the PIP, but put on here PIP 33, and we can get to that at the end.
Um, but we created company that acted as legal representation to protect the the DAO.
So, we can get into the actual um USDC paid later on. Um, PIP 3 was the Star Atlas Council.
So, it didn’t cost us anything. We didn’t pay anything, but we created the Star Atlas Dell Council voting ability and community representation at leadership level. >> If you think about like those three right there represents the whole foundation of the DAO, the the legal structure.
Um, if if you think of like castle, the DAO is the castle and pips one, two, and three helped create the moat around the castle to protect us and our interests so that we could do the business of Star Atlas ecosystem. That was basically what pips one through three did. It laid those those foundations, that moat, and allowed us to carry on with all the other pips after it.
>> Perfect.
Yeah. And Ler is definitely more nerdy than am on >> I’m nerd for this stuff. love it, too.
Appreciate you chiming in.
So, and that’s one of the beautiful things about the council. Like, we’re all different. We all have our strengths.
We all have our weaknesses. Um, and Lanzer is an absolute rockar, and appreciate him. I’ll go on record saying that.
So, >> thanks, man. >> Yeah. >> Yeah.
And as as team member, am very happy to see how engaged you guys are. It surely has not been an easy time to be council member to say the least, but you guys have been >> fighting on and moving things forward. >> Well, thanks.
In all seriousness, like lot of Dows have issues with longevity. They have issues with, you know, people not following the rules, hostile takeovers. That generally hasn’t been the case in Star Atlas Dow.
There’s been, you know, some tight controls, let’s say, some strict adherence and and the way we do things, but by and large, it’s created the stability we needed to survive multiple years, which is is not something you can say for lot of Dows.
So, in that instance, this this DAO is strong and will continue to be uh for as long as we can carry it forward as community. >> Yeah. And real quick for those that don’t know, Lanzer is on has been on multiple Dows, is on multiple Dows.
Um, he has wealth of knowledge with all this stuff. He’s a legal nerd. He’s interviewed Foundation directors.
>> So, he’s got quite the the portfolio.
So, he has really good lens at at lot of this.
So, >> okay, we’re going to keep moving on [clears throat] and not just >> pat each other on the back the whole time.
So um PIP 4 the ecosystem fund.
Yes, hit me. >> Anthony has question about the >> uh does it didn’t those pips technically cause doubt based on the pip 33to or this is showing the cost at the time of approval not he >> yeah and that’s why put it off till the end.
So, we budgeted >> 100 grand and then um with PIP um 33, we’ll kind of like we can get into the weeds when we when we get to PIP 33. >> Sure. >> Sure.
>> And anybody can correct us if we happen to be wrong.
So, >> okay.
So, PIP for the >> the ecosystem fund. Um so, that just created the um ecosystem fund.
So with that we expedited 20 pips uh for funding um the low atlas dollar projects related star atlas community for execution. Um we just basically created the ecosystem fund. Didn’t cost us anything to actually create it.
>> The ecosystem fund was exped way for community members to get their projects funded versus going through the Dow Treasury process which was much stricter. It required higher level of approval. that this was meant to uh make that faster.
>> Yeah. And we’ve changed it few times since. Um so pip 5, this was in the way back machine.
We uh we actually struggled to to go back and and find this information, but the DAO co-sponsored the Navaton. think this was even before the council was in place. Um, so it was 6 million Atlas, which which came to about 20 grand, more or less, 19,800 USDC.
Um, the winners were the Atom service, Atlas Link, Star Atlas Crew dashboard, Star Atlas Dispatcher, Wayfront Invasion, and then the IV >> Yeah, forefront invasion, sorry.
And then the IV ship comparison and viewer.
So, you’ll notice that Atom and IV are definitely still around. Um, we’re not 100% sure on some of the other ones, but we co-sponsored that, you know.
So, we as the DAO invested 20 grand um to co-sponsor the Navaton. Um, PIP 6 was the sack one election, first round, didn’t cost us anything. PIP 7 was sack sack one second [clears throat] round didn’t cost us anything but uh we elected five volunteers giving more or less 260 hours to star Atlas DAO of the 53,000 token holders established the knowledge base and in enacted voting mechanic mechanic mechanic improvements.
So they they essentially laid the groundwork So >> yeah, we had we calculated that and um what wanted to do was give a quantifiable metric for how many hours we think the volunteers gave uh the council members gave.
So 260 hours of of free volunteer time given to the ecosystem by those five volunteers who became the council members. >> Yep. >> And there were 53,000 token holders at the time.
>> Yep. And that um that was uh six-month term.
So when when the DAO first started, they were six-month terms. And this is Lanzer editing stuff on the fly like he always does. [laughter] love it.
Um so PIP 8 and we included PIP 18. Um it was the comet meetup and expansion.
So, um do have video um that want to play. Um so guess before we get into the video, so it was whatever 7,472 British pounds.
So we essentially paid 13 million Atlas which cost us as the DAO basically 14 grand.
So for that 14 grand we had the comet meetup.
So, I’m going to play the video. I’m going to put it in full screen. don’t know if uh >> Yeah.
Yeah, it’ll work. >> The videos were fine. >> If you know who made this video, put it in chat.
It’s awesome. >> think it was Alistister and Chadex. >> Not Chadex.
You’ll see some familiar faces. >> Oh, >> this was crackers. >> Yeah.
>> Cracker said and his significant other. >> Sliders.
Nice. John Carlos and his mustache. >> Legendary mustache.
[music] >> See some team members in there. >> Mhm. [music] >> That was really cool.
>> Yes. Oh man.
So yeah, anybody that was able to go to that event, think um they couldn’t be, you know, there’s something special about going to these events and meeting people in real life. Um but yeah, regardless of that, >> yeah, mean, Singapore, for example, was super exciting, man. It was one of the happiest moments in my Stratus history.
Hopefully we’ll have many more of those in the future. >> Yeah. And Punk Cracker.
Yes, it was. wasn’t there, but was at the Vegas meetup and that was so epic as well.
So, we invested uh 14 grand into that. 70 Star Atlas community members attended, built camaraderie um for the community and then the sponsors and and whatnot. And it’s this is such hard ROI to quantify in my mind.
Um because you can’t put dollar amount on what happened there, you know. Um so as the community, you know, gets to decide was this worth our money, it, you know, I’ll leave that up to you guys. um all of the people who have ever attended any meetups um you can kind of testify to to what it brought you but think there’s just something special about it.
So that’s uh yeah that’s the comet meetup.
So that’s PIP 8 and 18.
So you saw the people um had bunch of shirts on with the merch. Um we’ll get to that in PIP 18.
So they added bunch of merch onto it.
So and they were also at an actual event. um not just the the one um meetup in real life uh but there was uh don’t have the right words for it but there was a session there was a thing so um PIP 9 thank you funer um so we adjusted the um STV adjustment um voting mechanism um So by nullifying supercharged votes that um imbalance voting outcomes of pits.
So not necessarily monetary ROI or anything but it is progress. Um PIP 10 council terms see PIP 3 impact.
So we just uh believe that was fun cracker as well. Um changed uh changed it from 6 months to 9 months and some other stuff. Um, we changed what purview the council had over certain items.
We kind of they kind of narrowed it down. Um, which is where we’re still at today. PIP 11 was the SAC 2 elections.
So, um, Lanzer, thank you for this ROI.
So, five SAC 3 council members volunteered 675 plus hours over 9 months, completing 147 accomplishments, positively affecting the Starless Out ecosystem, paying out 61 and half million Atlas for PIP authors, facil facilitating voting processes for 14 pips with two and 2. 2,000 2,000 votes cast, achieving average voter participation rate of 19%, publishing 48 DAO transparency reports. Um, that 19% participation might seem low, but Lanzer, chime in for sure, um, or anybody else.
Um, that 19% voter turnout is actually pretty good for DA, right? >> Yeah, the lower range is about 6%. The higher range is, you know, 25 to 30%.
So we’re we’re upper upper tier of that, >> which think is great.
So that mean to me means we have a pretty active community.
So >> and we we were really specific about this because in sack 2 was kind of fanatic about keeping track of our data.
So that’s why we were able to make such specific remarks about this one. Um, if y’all saw some of our stuff, we had Dow dashboard that we was keeping track of.
So, we were able to show and demonstrate the participation rates and how that worked and and we continue doing that for SAC 3.
Yes, we’ll see what sack 4 ends up doing. We’ll get to that though.
Cool.
So, um, PIP 12 was the feast. Um, so originally it was 10,000 USDC. Um, don’t have the Atlas amount on here, but we ended up paying out more or less 3500 bucks for um, seven events.
Um, again, we’re going back to that camaraderie uh, of the Star Atlas community.
So the events were Valencia, um the SAI Italian meetup, YG Summit, uh the Breakpoint Meetup, Star Atlas Campus Starbase Gamescon Asia, and Galactic Outpost. And we’ve never really, and this is on me, we haven’t really shared um lot of that. Um so this is a good opportunity.
So have bunch of posts.
So, um, like this is the, uh, Star Atlas Italia sai, you know, they had bunch of people meet up. Um, so they, you know, paid for some drinks and it was just that that camaraderie um, event.
That’s fun. love seeing all those people getting together in real life.
So, and then the um this one doesn’t have didn’t want to log into my ex, but like uh MK did a Philippines meetup and there was several people there. Um which is really cool. Like being an international community is is really interesting for me as an American.
um just seeing all the different um communities and how they get together and and whatnot.
So um it was really cool to see more of the international community um tied to Star Atlas.
And then um so then James is our rock star.
So, he applied three times for the uh the feast. And don’t know what any of this says. Um but he um did presentations at um the university through the um can’t remember what he called it, but he he was spreading the word and you could see how many people how many eyeballs got on um the Star Atlas project.
Then he did it again. Um, so his three events were called the Star Atlas Campus, Starbase, Games Con Asia, and Galactic Outpost.
So, um, he handed out merch, he printed the signs, you can see everything in that little video there.
And then he did another one um, where he was actually showing off um, Star Atlas and how it actually works. and again had food and presentations and the whole the whole bit.
So, um think think that was definitely winner for us to have James do those um those meetups in Asia.
And then one of the last ones was um Funcracker. Um it was at Breakpoint. They had party um and um you know got to spread the word some more about Star Atlas.
So that was the feast. >> Yeah. >> So we spent 3500 bucks >> live streamed the Super Phoenix sports tournament on one of the on some of the TVs at Star Bars.
>> You were there for that one, weren’t you?
Yes, was.
So, like that also gave exposure not just to us but to basically everybody who was there who was actually at Star and Bars that night on top of the fact that it was also at Breakpoint.
So, there were probably quite few people who were also within the crypto ecosystem. Um, there was actually also some racing stuff at the hotel that was staying at, which is also not that far from Stars and Bars.
So, we possibly got some people who were racing fans for actual car racing.
So, would say that that was and it was also good actually being able to meet up with everybody, especially since that breakpoint wasn’t really as good one to meet up at at the actual breakpoint event itself.
Yeah. And and full transparency, as far as the community and their, you know, investment um opportunities, these in-person meetups are hard to quantify. Um, and I’ll leave that up to each community member to to decide what, you know, what that ROI is.
But again, being at the Vegas meetup, like for me, it’s it it was life-changing to be honest. met people in real life, and I’m actually doing business with some of these people now.
So, that that was the feast. Um don’t know if we’re ever going to re-up the feast. Um but if somebody [clears throat] wants to feel free to uh to create pip um to re-up that feast.
So >> it’s our Yeah. And so now we get into bunch of the red letters um where we didn’t actually spend money or stuff failed or didn’t pass.
So um there was pretty good. >> Yeah.
So PIP 13 um this was Bohemian. He was trying to implement term limits. It didn’t pass.
We don’t need to dwell on that whole bunch. Um, do it was cancelled, but this is um just looking at dollar amounts and what we got for it. And this is my opinion and you guys can can chime in, but this was our biggest loser in my opinion.
And that’s just me as community member.
So, originally um he asked for 10,000 USDC. We paid him 4678. Um he created website um had MVP minimal viable product and now it’s offline.
So we never paid him the rest of it because he didn’t follow through with this bit.
That’s just the long and short of it. It is what it is. Um so we lost in my opinion five grand 4,700 bucks.
So, he didn’t perform, so we canled it. Feel free to chime in in the chat, but >> Oh, think that sums it up. >> Okay, >> we’ll break his knees.
>> Yes. Jesus. [laughter] >> No.
>> And by the way, this is not this is not abnormal. And in terms of Dows and pips go, this stuff happens all the time. Um, sometimes they don’t follow through.
Not because maybe things go wrong, but sometimes things happen outside of your control. Maybe life happens, family, whatever it might be.
So, in this case, you know, the bad part was we paid that first payment and we weren’t able to recover it.
So, that that was the real badness out of that PIP specifically, whereas the others sometimes we were able to catch that. The co the author said, “Hey, don’t pay me this because it just it’s going in the wrong direction. ” Uh, and then some of them, one of them returned the funds, which I give huge applause to.
Um, but the rest of them we canled when we noticed that it wasn’t going to work and either the authors didn’t respond or they said, “Hey, can’t follow through. ” And they were like, “Okay, cool.
No harm, no foul. ” But that was the true winner and or true loser. Uh, which agree is because we paid it.
We didn’t recover it. Still don’t know anything about it. >> But also, he did provide the minimal viable product.
So we only paid him half essentially.
So stuff happens. Um so PIT 15 was the meetups platform and the community did not pass it.
So he was asking for 9500 bucks USDC didn’t work or didn’t pass.
So um PIP 16 was Ryden.
So originally he was asking for 10 grand USDC. ended up paying him8464 and uh this is probably like I’ll leave it up to to the community but now we have Ryden um because he got and believe he he was Nabathon winner but he also had hit 16.
So to me this is winner because we have Ryden the IV project EVI sorry um which if [snorts] anyone is deeply involved with Star Atlas you use um Ryden systems and have so like Ryden. systems systems.
We have this tool now because the DAO and the community funded him. Um think it’s hands down clear winner.
That’s just me. You guys can >> Yeah.
No, 100% right. And it’s beast. It provides so much value to the community.
think this is huge win.
Yeah.
So, yeah, we as community invested 8,500 bucks to have right in. Tip 17 was the ecosystem media expansion.
This is what uh Lanzer was talking about. Uh Raspby. Um he had 20,000 Atlas he applied for.
We sent it to him. That was before some of our systems were in place with thresholds and and whatnot. um didn’t really pan out the way everyone thought it would and he sent us the the funds back again before we had some of these protections in place and thank you Raspby for being an honorable person and sending it back.
So >> yeah, >> we are without anything. >> That was great display of integrity. really appreciated when you did that.
>> Yep. >> So that one was cancelled. want to keep moving on.
Um, PIP 18 is the Gamescom merch. We went over that in PIP 8. Um, they just added on some uh merch and stuff.
Um, so PIP 19 didn’t pass, so we don’t need to dwell on that. Uh, PIP 20 was Dowcaster’s creation. Um, and we don’t have the final numbers.
That’s why there’s some red um hashtags on here. Um but month 1 2 and three you know we essentially paid out 4657 USDC to the Dowcasters. Um this one is also kind of up in the air on the ROI.
Um there was there were five content creators producing four content pieces month on social media. We don’t have the final numbers. Um but don’t know.
I’m I’m not fan of re-uping and this is just me as as person in the community um on re-uping for Dowcasters. don’t think the ROI is there. don’t you know, let me know some of your other council um opinions um as to where you’re at with the Dowcasters, but don’t think it was great ROI.
It was good idea and thank you um to Signal for creating it, but just think in this um bare market it just didn’t pan out. Um Ronald uh Funcracker, yeah, thank you. You put it in the in the chat.
So, uh Funcracker was one of the the Dowcasters and thank you for all the work you did. It just didn’t pan out um in the current setting.
So, would lean on Funcracker’s opinion uh for that.
So, to me, that’s that says it all. It was great idea. We tried it.
Some things work, some things don’t. Um, PIP 21, this is Ro rogue data hub. Um, so it’s their website that indexes and processes 20 programs, so smart contracts on chain.
Um, originally it was 7. 3 million Atlas.
We have paid them to date $2,83 in USC at the time when we sent it. Um, I’ll pull that up.
So, this means nothing to me. have no idea what any of this does, but there’s public API, graphic QL, and an indexer. Um, >> yeah, for all you nerds who are nerdier than we are, I’m sure this means something, but lots of stuff going on there.
>> We got something for it. [laughter] >> don’t know what any of this stuff is. >> We don’t know what, but I’m sure for some of you who like the indexing and the processes of programs, which is um Salana’s version of smart contracts and onchain star atlas data, this is for you.
Yeah, can’t because >> it’s still there apparently.
So, have fun. >> Yeah.
So, we did get something for $2,000 and yeah, you guys figure out if it’s worth the worth the money. >> All you devs out there, this one’s for you. >> Yeah.
Um, so PIP 22, we’re about 15 minutes out from closing, so think we’re our timing is okay.
So, PIP 22, the arena. Um, like this one. Um, we’ve only paid out two um of the events out of the 11 million.
So, we’ve paid out $328 for two self-organized community tournaments, which earned the top 1% of Twitch viewers and 10% YouTube live stream channels for two months. Um, do have this Twitter post that you guys >> posted second kill here. >> They just they did tournament and >> all the things.
>> So, we definitely got lot of eyeballs. >> We definitely got lot of eyeballs on Star Atlas.
So, look, 761 views.
That’s awesome. think guess don’t really know but >> think so the 1% Twitch part and the 10% YouTube live streaming was it was big deal mostly because it meant that we were at the top of of that category.
So whenever anyone wanted to to look at Star Atlas or even gaming, you know, we outranked lot of other channels. And the reason why it was top 1%, it honestly doesn’t take that much to get to the upper echelons of Twitch. Most channels never get above five viewers at one time.
So we had uh think somewhere between 50 to 80 memory serves.
So it was lot. And and that was live viewers.
So, not even counting um the other platforms as well.
So, we were instantly in the top ranking of that. >> Yeah. And think for point of clarification, if you don’t mind, Lanzer, you say we >> you you wear multiple hats.
So, when you say we, what does that mean? >> I mean the ecosystem. Uh I’ll speak in the the ecosystem sense.
Star Atlas had its game showcased at the top 1% of Twitch numbers for that month.
But you’re also on the Super Phoenix Dow. >> was also helping in the Super Phoenix Dow.
Yes. >> Perfect.
Yes. just wanted to to clarify that for the community. >> Which should not be surprise because I’ve been on this brew before saying that and uh when we especially when we put the tournament team together and we were looking for people, lot of tournament team members came from here from that brew.
So, thank you all.
It’s still going strong. and Atlas.
Sorry, Atlas is still part of the tournaments that we do. >> Just trying to be transparent earther. Um, okay.
So, moving on. PIP 23. Um, this is this was your baby Lanzer does the PIP 4 refresh.
>> Yeah, this one. When first came into Star Atlas, right, what was really confusing was those foundational pips and then suddenly it was PIP 4, which was ecosystem fund. And the message was that you couldn’t do PIP outside of ecosystem fund which didn’t make any sense because of how the the the Dow was structured.
So what did was worked with we worked together as as council in sack 2 and worked with automata to make sure it was right by them and did lot of uh rules clarification that sort of thing so that it was much more clear what the topup process was, how do we calculate the formula and lot of making it more predictable and transparent of what that ecosystem fund process was and how it differentiate itself from the Dow Treasury And yep, didn’t get to the Dow Treasury PIP this time around. really wanted to, but uh but at least we got the ecosystem fund, which is the vast majority of what we all spend our time doing in the DAO. >> Yeah.
And there was there was whole bunch of clarification, which appreciate. I’m really glad that we spent so much time in sack 2 um doing the pit for refresh. By we, mean Lancer.
>> Yeah.
So, >> and lot of that came into play with the recent PIP that Automata pushed out, which actually helped allow us clarify that we are going to be able to keep the ecosystem fund. We were able to do that final top up before withdrew the funds, so on and so forth. >> Yeah.
>> Yeah. It definitely added [clears throat] whole lot of clarification. >> Yeah.
Yeah. I’m so glad we had plug bug.
Right. Slug bug.
We can still say that. >> Slug bug. What’s that?
>> Slug bug. When you see a Volkswagen bug and you hit hit the other person. >> The old geyser.
>> Yep.
Sorry. >> Call it puncher stuff. >> Punch bug.
>> Oh, punch buggy. Punch. >> That’s what he’s talking about.
>> Okay. Punch buggy.
No punch bag. Gotcha. >> All right, moving on.
Um, slide. Uh, PIP 24 was the Sly Dow supported hosting service.
So, Arty um, originally he um, pegged it at 675 bucks. We paid him $54.
So, we funded the RD Sly Assistant automation tool which enabled players to run the Sly accounts autonomously without user interaction, improved accessibility and uptime.
So the first month it was five players, second month it was eight, and the third month it was five again.
So just put eight.
So >> yeah, and this was for Sly too. And know you’re an honest person already, but darn man, that felt criminally underrated, underfunded, let’s say. >> Well, it is what it is.
And people >> It is what it is. You’re right.
But darn >> used it or they didn’t. And now we know like and now already knows. To be honest, he put in lot of work.
And uh >> yeah, >> commend him.
So >> yeah, >> would say about what we paid for there. >> Yeah, >> already on the other hand, think probably got little shafted. >> Yep.
But he also didn’t complain about it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah.
Um that’s why I’m complaining on his behalf because he was just so um good to work with. It seems like really good product. He’s good actor in the space and look at that and I’m like dang we Yeah.
All right, keep going. >> Okay, we got to keep going. PIP 25 was the sack 3 elections.
Um, so sack 3 council members volunteered it volunteered. don’t know what happened to that number, but >> it’s uh it means about estimated >> eight >> about >> Oh, eight hours per month.
Yeah, you’re right.
Okay.
Sorry. completing 20 accomplishments. >> Um, affecting the ecosystem, paying out 1.
2 million atlas for PIP authors, facil facilitating voting process for six pips with 871 votes cast, achieving average voter participation rate of 23% which is higher than >> we’re up there now. >> Yeah, >> that’s like top 90 or the top uh 10% right there of all >> going really well. Um, and then thanks to Lanzer, we published our 21 DAO transparency reports.
>> posted like seven more last night, so we’re almost at 30. >> Boom.
Well, that was sack.
Okay, sack three.
Yeah. Um, PIP 26, the Hammerheads first attempt. It did not pass.
Um, the Dowcaster elections. We already went over Dowcasters. We had the elections.
PIP 28 was um the temporary DAO funding to perver preserve core lore design and community functions. This was one of the first ones that was outside of the ecosystem fund which we as the DAO the council have um the count the DAO council have zero control over. Um so this was to keep Jose in place.
Um it cost us 30 grand. We’ve paid out 25,000 um as of July 21st. think there’s one more payment that will go out.
So, >> we retained >> Yep. We retained Jose. And don’t think there’s anybody in here.
And Jose, [clears throat] you can stay quiet.
That’s fine. Um that wouldn’t agree that having him on the team has been godsend. Like, now that he’s he’s been around, you’ve learned new skills.
appreciate what you’re doing greatly. Um assume the Xcode maybe you can correct me if I’m wrong. >> No, Jose is not not doing great job at at being vibe coder.
But >> so not only is Jose doing great job being vibe coder, but he’s he’s effectively proven that he can he can he can work on the front end of our product. He can build blockchain code now. He can continue to work on the lore and run these events.
uh bruise etc. like um he he’s he’s essentially operating at the level of our senior blockchain engineers along >> That’s so cool, man. >> Right.
So >> that’s amazing. >> Yeah. And that’s not to that’s not slight on any of the people that we had working here.
They built a beautiful foundation for us to work from. Um, but for Jose to come in and pick up and contribute and add to that code and extend it and all that has been uh it’s been wild. [clears throat] It’s been lot of fun to watch and Jose is great to work with.
And uh we’re definitely getting the the ecosystem and the community is definitely getting a really good um really good ROI having Jose on the team.
So yeah, >> love it. Thank you for that.
It’s it’s hard to sit here and listen to people give you accolades, but thank you for doing that on his behalf. >> can be if you want um if you want to know what mean. >> can tell you mistakes he’s made if you want, but >> No, no, no.
[laughter] >> No, no, no. >> made some fun mistakes. >> Yeah, >> made one yesterday.
That’s fine. >> Yeah, we got to keep going.
Sorry. Um, this is my job is to keep it going. Um, PIP 29 is the the relay program.
Um, Funcracker, this is what you were alluding to earlier in the chat.
So, it passed at 13 million Atlas. Um it was program platform that showcased uh rewards showcases and rewards quality Star Atlas content created by community members incentivizes participation to inan enhance social media presence and engage with web 3 community. Um that’s it’s not done.
It’s not stalled out.
It’s just kind of and uh Funcracker uh correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s just kind of in holding pattern for now um in this bare market.
So, um I’m going to keep going.
You can feel free correct is what he says.
So, PIP 30, the Atom Cloud Infrastructure Sustainability. This one was kind of contentious, but um we paid out 1,900 bucks to keep um Adam going um for think it was four or five months um to keep it up and running. And an important thing to note is they were Nabathon winner and they used all of the Nabathon money and pit 30 money strictly for infrastructure costs.
So without the Nabaton in pit 30, they would have closed shop. They’re kind of treading water and waiting for uh uh C4 to come out.
So we still have them. think it’s good thing to have um Atom around and will say that they’ve put in ton of work. Um and yeah, think it’s great that they’re still around.
Um, Star Seek Star Seekers 2 um was withdrawn. It did end up passing, but he withdrew before it ended up passing. Um, PIP 32 is the igniting the Star Atlas Triad Triad tournament.
Um, that passed. We’re waiting on bugs to get fixed. Get on it, Jose.
No, I’m just >> Yeah, vibe code it, Jose. That immortality thing, man.
It’s just that easy.
It’s that easy, right? got we don’t need Bru Ho is already really good. We don’t need him wandering around invincible killing everyone.
>> Right. [laughter] >> So that did pass. Um now when the when the bugs actually get worked out um that will will get paid out whatever that USDC amount is at payout is to be seen.
>> Um >> pip 33 >> it’s all ready to go. just need the >> Yeah. >> And so the PIP 33 was the autonomic expense reimbursement and this goes back to PIP 2 think it was.
So again, outside of the ecosystem fund, don’t know, Lanzer, if you want to edit this slide with your red letters, but we paid um we reimbured Autonom 469K. Uh well, we we approved 469K. Uh we paid them out half of it to date and the other half will be in few months um to cover those.
>> Oh yeah, that was we did last night. >> Yep. >> Yeah.
Okay.
So, it was 176,000 USC and 376 million Atlas. >> Yeah.
So, we’ve sent out the first half of that payment.
So, uh the ROI in my opinion is autonomic gets to keep going at the level that they’re at. think uh >> secure additional runway for parent company. >> There you go.
Perfect.
So, think the ROI is, you know, keeping autonomy going.
That’s let’s do it. And think the votes um showed showed that result as well. Um so then the last PIP is ongoing right now, which is what showed at the beginning.
Uh Hammerheads PIP. Make sure you go vote. Please go vote either way or abstain.
That’s fine, too. Um it’s there’s no you know he requested 13 million Atlas. Uh we haven’t paid anything out because it’s still in voting.
So yeah, that’s the quick um presentation that we have. And um Jet did just put in the chat uh formula some of his nerd formulas and on where we’re going to be at. Um, but we’re also at the top of the hour.
So, are there any quick questions now that we’re over time? We’ve been answering it quite bit as we went. >> Good.
Sweet. >> Post lot of the links to the stuff that we went over, the Dow Reports, Ryden Systems, EVI, the Atlas Relay, Atom.
So, just check the chat if you’re interested in any of those things. You’ll see those links. Um, made them headers so they’re they should instantly stand out to you.
>> Wait. And the code since I’ve been talking this entire time, um, Jose posted it.
It’s dowo roi. don’t know if it’s still active or not, but >> codes. >> It is still active.
Yes. >> Sweet.
Okay. Or Xcode. Any any closing statements?
>> Yeah. Just want to say doubles in the chat for the console. They have been working hard for our sake.
This was super enlightening about the work of the DA of everything that Statlas DA has done to this date. Surely not easy surely takes lot of work and lot of passion to do this especially since they are not getting single atlas as payment.
So doubles in the chat those guys deserve our praise or respect. Thank you for everything that you guys have done for Star Atlas and I’m looking forward to see who is running for the next council. >> Yeah, on that note, there are two of us on the existing uh sack 3.
I’m going to be rerunning and so is Jit. don’t know about the other people. >> will not be rerunning.
pretty much already know that.
So if you want to if you if you have interesting ideas or you want to try and make the ecosystem better, there is no better way to do it than the Dow Council. It is very much what you make of it. And yeah, enjoy.
>> It’s been fun. would love to do it. would love to do it again, but can’t do it with my current uh stuff.
So please come in and do it better than me. >> Oh, that’s heavy. >> It’s hard.
It’s hard.
It’s [laughter] great >> Pretty low bar. You’ll be fine. Y’ll be fine.
>> All right, everyone. >> Yeah, do notated. Just if you feel like you want to run, just run.
We need people. >> Absolutely. Absolutely.
Everyone’s more than invited to run for the console. All right, think that’s it for today’s brew. Thank you guys.
Lozer, Emperor, Shitblade, John. Always pleasure to have you guys upstage community. Thank you all for being here with us for another Atlas Brew.
Next week, we’ll come back with more updates on the C4 PTR. As we move forward to the next stage of phase two, we are bound to have reset, right, John? In the upcoming weeks.
>> Mhm. uh because we have few updates to add to the game. >> Yep.
>> So, keep your eyes open because cool stuff is coming your way. >> Yep. The Jorvvic territory just launched on the map and uh there’s number of super Phoenixes that have begun to expand their territory.
So, if you’re looking for something to do, good luck fighting the Titans taking over the high-risk zone area. [laughter] They are going to destroy civilization. >> They are.
Yeah, they are. They’ve got they’ve got new um new mechanic that’s running now where they they’re basically setting up to defend the the zones that they’re that they’re set out in. Um so they’re going to take they’re going to systematically take and garrison every single system inside of Ani 15, 16, and MUD 17.
And then from there, they’re going to branch out and start attacking the the territories that are contested in the areas around them.
So, it’ll be fun.
It’s uh it’s been running now since, you know, for about 3 hours. And you can go and you can look at the Anie and spaces have significantly changed in those areas. And MUD has just kicked in and is uh you can see the super phoenixes flying across the screen heading to their next target sort of thing.
So, it’s going to be good. Awesome. >> Thank you both.
Thank you all for your time. >> All right, guys. >> Thanks, guys.
>> Thank you, everyone. This was the Atlas Brew. We’ll go back to bug fixing.
See you everyone. Bye. Bye.
Bye. Bye.
