Star Atlas Event Summary

Hi, this isn’t Matt with the Intergalactic Herald. I am an AI. Welcome to a Star Atlas Recap of the latest Atlas Brew from the Star Atlas Community Team. The following summary of the Atlas Brew was AI generated so no guarantee it is 100% accurate because I am an AI after all. If you want to listen to the entire recording, please check out the YouTube channel of Star Atlas TV. Enjoy the summary. (Sound of energetic, upbeat music fading slightly into background) Voice-over: Hey everyone, welcome back to the Star Atlas deep dive! We just wrapped up Atlas Brew number 175, and let me tell you, it was a fantastic session brimming with community spirit, exciting announcements, and some really insightful discussions about the future of the DAO. The vibe was super positive, kicking off October with a bang, as the hosts Santi and Jose put it! The biggest buzz from the event definitely came from Lanzer, one of our DAO Council members, who unveiled the ambitious plans for Super Phoenix Sports and their ‘Star Racer’ league! Imagine this: a massive racing event broadcast live from Solana Breakpoint in Abu Dhabi on December 13th! Lanzer detailed how they’re building a full team, from stream producers and play-by-play casters to camera operators and even “fun police” to ensure fair play. What’s even cooler is they’re actively looking for more talent to fill these paid positions, offering a chance to build your resume and really impact the Star Atlas ecosystem. It’s a huge community-driven initiative, and Lanzer’s passion for it was absolutely infectious. But that wasn’t the only big news for the community. We also got a quick update on SYNC development, with the team making solid progress on the dashboard. A group of testers is already lined up, ready to start putting it through its paces this week for about two weeks, after which we can expect some even bigger announcements – so keep those eyes peeled! Speaking of community involvement, there are some crucial proposals on the table right now that need your vote. PIP 19, focusing on independent economics research, is still live for a few more days. And coming live in just a few hours from the event are two brand new proposals: PIP 20, championed by Signal, aims to create a “Dowcaster” role. This proposal seeks to elect and pay five content creators for three months to promote Star Atlas to a broader web3 and gaming audience, with half the budget going directly back to the community through giveaways and challenges. It’s a fantastic way to support organic creators. The second, PIP 21, is the Rogue Data Hub from the Skull and Bones team, a vital database and API for developers, indexing all of Solana’s Star Atlas programs. It’s a year-long project aimed at filling the void left by Flipside, providing essential data for analytics and research. Both of these are now live for voting, so head over to govern.staratlas.com and make your voice heard! Beyond new proposals, the DAO also reflected on its journey so far. The current DAO Council, including Lanzer, Emperor, Dr. Carlos, Signal, and Bod, is nearing the end of its nine-month term on January 11th. We heard that re-elections are fast approaching, with the self-nomination period starting late October, campaigns in early November, and voting commencing late November. To boost transparency, the council has launched new “DAO Reports” and “DAO Links” channels, making it a one-stop shop for all their accomplishments, meeting minutes, and essential resources. It wasn’t all smooth sailing, though. The council openly discussed some of the challenges they’ve faced with approved PIPs not hitting milestones or lacking communication. Dr. Carlos emphasized the importance of proactive communication from PIP authors, stressing that the DAO is there to help, not to “point fingers.” The takeaway? Building a strong reputation for delivery and transparency is key, as future funding decisions will increasingly rely on an author’s track record. They’re looking at new rules to mitigate risk, like not paying the full amount upfront. The event also sparked some interesting forward-looking discussions, particularly around the idea of paying council positions. While controversial, there was strong sentiment from Santi and others that the council’s nine-month commitment and the significant time invested (often on weekends and after full-time jobs) warrants some form of remuneration, even if symbolic. Another hot topic was Emperor’s idea for an automated, decentralized “TLDDR” (Too Long; Didn’t Read) – basically, an AI-generated recap of council activities, potentially in audio or video format, to make DAO happenings more accessible to the wider community. And yes, they even briefly touched on the “spicy” idea of an AI council member, inspired by a real-world precedent! Looking ahead to their final months in office, the council outlined its commitment to continued transparency, streamlining information, and boosting community engagement, especially around voting periods. They’re also planning a month-long overlap period with the incoming council to ensure a smooth, knowledge-rich handover. As the event wrapped up, the atmosphere was one of anticipation and engagement. Don’t miss the Economic Forum tomorrow, where Jose, Chris, and Gareth will dive into the latest quarterly economic report and brainstorm Sage economy updates. On Friday, there’s the Galia Game Night with crew pack raffles, and as always, the Saturday Council Office Hours are a standing invitation for you to engage directly with the DAO Council. So, that’s your recap, folks! A huge thank you to the council members for their dedication and transparency, and to the community for their active participation. Make sure to vote on those PIPs, join the upcoming events, and maybe even hop into the arena for some UE5 shooter action! We’ll see you around, Star Atlas! (Upbeat music swells and fades out)

Yes, of course. Of course. I’m trying to get closer to Jose’s power.

Jesus, that’s going to be tough.

It’s going to be tough.

It’s difficult.

But, uh, yeah, we can get started here uh, with some noteworthy news.

So we wanted to get started with um one post that made yesterday in minor announcements which relates to sync.

So I’ll link it here in the chat and it’s little update on how development is going.

Basically the team has been making really solid progress on the dashboard and we have already on boarded we have already on boarded group of testers to the Stratus community kitchen server and they are ready to start testing probably this week. Um so once that begins it will probably go for two weeks let’s say more or less um as the team spots bugs and fixes things and after that um well cannot say what what happens after that you guys will find out um you can probably imagine but it’s good it’s good we have yeah some things planned that think everybody’s is going to like them so just wanted to give that little development update uh everything’s going well um dashboard is looking solid, but it needs uh some extra weeks of testing.

So once that ends or once we get closer, we’re going to be making bigger announcements for sure.

So bigger and better.

Yeah, just wanted to give to give some updates there on that. Then we wanted to give shout out to one of the council members, Signal, that has been working on story, right?

It’s It’s like podcast type of Exactly.

Yes. is cooking, man. Seno is cooking.

He’s He’s in He’s just He can’t stop him. He just keeps creating. He keeps cooking.

Yep. like it. and he got the junkers spent like six hours on developing an AI.

Don’t know, you know, if you haven’t test it out, go do it. AI for Star Atlas. Very cool.

Yeah.

So, you can now find it on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Podcast, and Audible as well.

That’s nice. use Audible every day.

So, I’ll I’ll listen to it there. It’ll let you know signal.

That’s very cool. posted link in the in the chat there so anybody can go and check it out for themselves. Um, another thing is Super Phoenix DAO.

think uh we have some updates from the Super Fenix DAO. think Lancer um you should be able to cover them, right?

So, as far as know, I’m ready. You let me know.

Yeah. Ship it. Do it.

Al. All right, everybody.

So, my name is Lanzer and when I’m not Star Atlas Dow Counseling, am just recently been confirmed as the director of tournament ops for the newly established Super Super Phoenix Sports. What is that?

So, you know, the big big giant ship that’s going to be going around the Super Phoenix.

Well, part of the entertainment stuff that’ll be that’ll be on the Super Phoenix will be big racetrack and racing events.

So, we are starting that now and specifically Super Phoenix Sports. Got little got little thing for you already here. And we’re going to be calling it the Star Racer event.

So, Star Racer will be the actual league for the racing component of Super Phoenix Sports. I’ll be going over our mission goals. It looks uh mirrored.

Uh what looks mirrored? The your stream.

Yeah. Is it backwards?

Yeah.

Yes, it’s backwards. Holy smokes.

Okay, hold on. think can fix that in two seconds. Ready?

Tell me if this fixes it here. How about now?

Yes. Sweet. See, on my end, it looks backwards.

That’s why flipped it.

But now, guess it’s uh don’t know. don’t know.

Okay.

So, I’ll be going over the mission and goals, the ORC chart, and here’s what that first thing looked like there.

And then our roles and responsibilities. Today we are looking to fill few positions.

That’s why I’m here to talk about team. We want you all to to join the team if you’d like.

So the mission for Star Racer is to host competitive racing events for the Star Atlas community. How are we going to do that? We’re going to host our first race event on December 13th at Salana Breakpoint.

That’ll be happening in Abu Dhabi.

So Nord will be there. It’ll be big thing.

but they’ll be broadcasting the actual race event live. That race event will be achieved with full roster of racers to be determined at later time when we establish the race rules and also we’ll be casting that event live with full production team across Twitch kick YouTube live and then also on the through the the big projectors that Nord will have at Salana Breakpoint.

So right now we are uh our team of 16.

We have 10 positions filled. Uh Bruo is lead operations on the right hand side.

So race operations is right there on the in the blue section. Our registrant where players will sign up is with Crimson Ghost will be putting together all of the the race rules and he’ll be playing out the actual race event to make sure it goes off well.

Soo is going to be our referee, so our judgment and fair play. Fun Police, they’ll be the eyes and ears of the referee. We’re still looking for two people there.

Donsen is on the lefth hand side, our lead mission support.

That’s everything to help make sure that the race goes off well. And that’ll include the stream producer, which we’re looking for. Crucifixion will be our play-by-play caster.

We’re looking for color cer.

So, the the two will be playing off each other the day of. Kai will be the project assistant to make sure all the meeting minutes and scheduling happens.

And then we have four camera operators. Anime Bio and Crash are currently two. We’re looking for two more.

And they’ll help with the the camera angles and all the sorts of stuff we’ll need to make sure that it the race looks awesome. All right. As said, it it is big team.

It is. And so far, we have 10 teammates on board. We’re looking for at least one, two, three, four, five, six more people.

All right. Here are the roles and responsibilities. For the stream producer, need you to walk in having an understanding of the tech stack.

already kind of did that for you, but I’m not going to be the one to decide at the end of the day. We need someone to help establish how is the stream going to happen.

You know, video ninja, whatever it is, and make sure that the broadcast team is organized, trained, and equipped. You’re going to make sure that that race day, everyone can look at it beautifully and look, it goes great. All right, we need color cer.

So whereas your playbyplay is your energetic live like, oh, they did left-hand turn, they did right-hand turn. Your color cast is going to comment on what vehicles did they choose, who are the players, like kind of the meta of the the commentator. They will both be commentating at the same time as team.

Camera operators will be placed around the map and or zooming around the map to make sure that when we switch different camera angles, it’ll look awesome, such as like really cool crash point or whatever.

So, we’re looking for some people there. And last but not least, the fun police.

You know, we can’t have people have too much fun. We got to make sure they stick within the rules of race integrity and fair play.

So, they’ll be assisting the referee to make sure that things are observed and that the race goes off without hitch.

So, those are the positions that we’re looking to fill. If you would like to fill them, please, please do me favor and join us. Once you join the team, so what does it mean to join the team?

you’re going to be paid for your efforts.

So, we secured funding. Um, so the 10 people who already joined will be paid as will the six who have yet to join. You’ll also can expect to build your resume and or your curriculum vite, whichever one you prefer, uh, with some sort of act impact of of of specifics, things that list on my resume for instance.

And you’ll be helping to grow the Star Atlas ecosystem, showing uh, Star Atlas to whole new audience at Breakpoint. and you’ll be taking part in the Super Phoenix Dell Store story as the first racing event that Super Phoenix is going to put on and that’ll be December 13th.

So, if you are interested, please do me favor, go to that server link just posted over in Super Phoenix and what you’re looking to do is go to the join team. All right, there’s little arrow that goes like this. Let me go ahead like like this.

Click that and where it says starraer join team just type hey want to be part of the team and we’ll take care of you after that and if you have any questions right above that is like little big question mark there and just post your question there and and we’ll get to you there.

So that is the star racer event. We want you if you feel that you can uh be value added to the team. We’re looking to put on great great viewership on December 13th with full race to rosters that that goes off while it hitch.

And for the next three months, what’s what’ll be expected of you? About 20 hours of work between now and mid December. We’ll be focusing on the mission that explained earlier.

And we’re going to be very proactive in accomplishing those goals. We’re going to figure out there’s lot of stuff we don’t know right now.

So, we got to figure it all out and then accomplish it over the next 3 months.

It’s very realistic and attainable. We just need teammates to do it. And every week we’ll be having team weekly meetings.

If you were on or if you’ve ever seen my my SegWit stuff, the Salon Grants writing team, I’ll be doing that live.

So you’ll see kind of the team. We’ll be pushing out footage, all sorts of things to build momentum. We need the teammates there to make that happen.

So if you are interested, join that team and let me know. Very cool. Bada bing, bada boom.

Very cool.

Yeah. I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with. Uh hopefully it will be success at at Breakpoint and Oh, it’ll be success, Santi.

Yeah.

No doubt.

No doubt.

Good stuff. And that voice, man. love it.

love that all this is coming from from the community, dude.

It’s It’s quite amazing to see.

Yeah, that’s super cool. It looks very professional as well.

So, we we’ve been doing tournament racing. I’ve been doing tournaments for while.

So, it it’s not difficult. You just need people to help and time to make it happen.

We have both.

So, we’ll figure it out. Awesome.

Yeah. And also our racing arenas and the racing module as whole is getting some big upgrade upgrades with the upcoming releases.

So, timing seems to be pretty good as well.

That’s nice.

Right on. Thank you very much for your time. Appreciate the the opportunity to to tell you all about Star Racer.

Nice.

Nice.

Okay. think uh we can move to the main topic. Uh now Jose, what do you think?

Did we talk about EVI as well?

It’s part of the main topic guess. uh we can give shout out but they have created very nice uh section for the DAO at EVI. I’ll link it here in case anyone wants to go check it out.

It looks super clean honestly and you guys can go check that dashboard out uh right now because it’s it’s amazing. Um I’ll see if can stream it. Oh, no.

Just if you have it close to you. I’m trying to open it right now. Let me see if can open Evi always does good job.

have it here. Awesome. Ev does good job at uh at the updates, so we wanted to give them shout out.

They also have received some grant from the Satlas Dow.

So, it’s very cool to see all the stats. Can you guys see my screen? Yep, we see it.

Holy smokes.

Look at this thing. How cool is it? This dashboard looks awesome.

Yeah.

Yeah, dude. Whoa, it’s wild.

Nice job.

Yeah, great job as always. Bye, Evi and Ryden.

So yeah, you guys can go check it out. Uh linked it in the chat. We’re going to start using this for our public meets on Saturday.

Yes, you should. I’ll link it again. linked it again.

Uh but yeah, we can get on the main topic. Any other council members want to hop on stage for this? Um drunk Carlos signal body emperor, let’s get you up on stage.

Whoever wants to join, they all do. Emperor welcome.

Hey guys.

Looking good.

Looking good, brother. Emperor.

Yeah. Uh, Dr. Carlos, I’ll send you invite to speak in case you want to join.

Signal, know you were you are on standby. Um membed. He’s still bit sick.

Okay. All good. All good.

Uh, we can get started.

So, I’ve posted some of the topics that we’re going to be chatting about today. Um, so we’re going to be covering basically big update on the DAO.

It’s been while since we last had you guys on stage and know you’ve been cooking. Even if it if it feels that everything is happening be behind the scenes, there’s lot going on, guys. lot going on.

Um and these guys have been putting in some serious amounts of hours.

So uh these are the topics that we wanted to cover today.

So we will go over the approved pips um and how each one of them is looking like upcoming pips for voting because we have couple on the pipeline right or already live for voting. think two went live. Uh pip ideas as well.

uh wanted to have little debate about the PEIP idea for paid council positions and want to hear everyone’s thoughts on that. Uh there has also been an idea of an AI council member which is bit spicy. Uh guess um what was it Albania that did it?

What was the country that did it? Like actually set set minister an AI minister.

Yeah.

So that sparked that discussion on like could we have an AI council member. Um and then the council’s plans before the end of the term as well. That will be the last thing.

Uh so we can get started guys. Um Emperor Drum Carlos think people already know you guys so uh no introduction needed. Uh so we can get ready and and start with this.

Yeah.

So we go for it.

Yeah. think Lancer’s going to be the first up and we will uh try to get Signal to to chime in here too. He’s he’s here but he’s off mic for minute.

That’s right. He’s just slacker.

So, welcome everybody.

We are the Star Atlas DA Council. It is Emperor Ron Carlos Signal Bod and myself. We started April 11th and our term is coming to close January 11th.

So, you’ll see more about the re-elections popping up. Uh we our last council meeting uh we we went through those mechanics or the the one two weeks ago and it’s all public.

It’s all on YouTube so you can go check it for yourself if you’re so inclined where you’ll see us talk about the dates that we’re going to establish for when is the nomination period and all that sort of stuff happening. That was um this one over here. think it was number 24.

Excuse me. There he is. Number 23.

So, our media minutes are there and just created we just created Dow reports channel.

So, I’ll be posting that stuff there very soon. Probably today or tomorrow. You’ll see just bunch of messages appear and all the reports that we’ve been doing.

So, we’re looking at about uh SAC 3 term ends January 11th.

So, the elections will conclude December 10th. The election pip will go live for about 2 weeks on or about November 26th. The campaign period will happen on or about November 10th and the self-nomination period will happen on or about October 29th.

So, we’re coming up pretty fast on that stuff. Yep. And uh you we can mention um Anthony put it in here, too.

You also created the Dow links um tab.

So, now it’s one-stop shop for all our links. sure did.

Yeah, we did. As council, we came together and said, “Hey, what about if we put some Dow links out there? ” So, if you go into this channel right here that I’m going to post in two seconds, that one, that dial links channel uh is your one-stop shop for where is everything, you know, where’s the knowledge base, where’s our PIP tracker, where’s our accounting sheet, what do we use when we look at the formatting for each PIP.

Uh, lot of the stuff, the knowledgebased stuff is thanks to the Caritos, Dr. Carlos. He’s the one that helps manage all that, puts out all that together.

So, it’s beautiful looking. Uh, started in sack number one with Funcracker and the gang. And yeah, actually, just just to clear that, maintain it.

Funcracker did most of the job, and he did amazing.

So, don’t want to take credit for funer’s job. Here, was trying to give Caritos all the credit, but he he refuses.

So, so there you go.

That’s our our Dow links.

And then the Dow reports will be there. All you’ll see when you click that is, you know, click the little follow button if you want to see the the announcements posted if you want to do that. Uh, but that’s where I’ll be posting videos, meeting minutes, action reports, all sorts of statistics that you need to keep yourself informed on what the Dow’s been doing.

All right, so pip tracker is the very first thing. If you watch our Saturday meetings, then you will have already seen this multiple times. The pip tracker is highle keeping track of what goes on with all of our pips.

So we have pips 1 through 18 having fully accounted here like what is it? What is their links? What was the partition participation?

You know how many votes were there? How many yeses how many nos abstains? How much total poll voting power participated?

So, we’re sitting at about 548 million total PVP, but only about in our last PIP, 55 million participated, whereas in PIP 17, 111 million participated.

So, you can see how it just kind of fluctuates quite bit. And in this past meeting with the council, we established some internal goals that we want to achieve uh for for ourselves. And when would we want to start pushing uh exposure more?

So, if PIP only receives like 10 million votes right off the bat, we know we got to kick it little bit harder to tell you all that there’s voting going on. We want more participation. Here’s how you participate more and that sort of stuff.

So, you’ll be seeing that little bit more from us from from going forward. All right. Um, now the updates for today, there are two pips that are currently voting.

It is the creation of Dowcaster roll. that pip author is signal.

So go ahead and and oh wait it’s live in five hours. My bad. In any case in five hours go vote and go you know express your sentiment there.

Then the other one is Rogue Data Hub by the Skull and Bones team.

That’s pip number 21. It too will open in 5 hours. Uh basically a database that helps uh stop the gap with Flip Side having gone away.

So cool. And that’s pip number 21.

So those two pips uh in 5 hours go vote. Otherwise everybody else uh dial working groups values list infinite pip IP th those are on different tracks. They’re not quite there yet.

Nice. All right.

So that’s our going on.

Yeah. Oh. Oh, excuse me.

Yeah. 19 is currently on up for vote. It has 4 days left.

So, please go express your vote there. And PIP number 19, thank you, Gartos, for having my back and and please uh whether you’re for it or against it or neutral, it would sure would be helpful to get get people’s votes. Um just some participation think would be delightful.

Yes, I’ll link it here. Uh you guys go there.

You can vote right now for this pip in govern. do it, do it, do it right now. And one thing that we wanted to cover also is on the pips that have been approved, we wanted to cover status on couple.

know that uh there has been some spiciness in the Dow channels. If anyone has been following it um around couple of the pips that have been approved, John Carlos is already hiding. Uh but there has been some spiciness around some of the pips because some people just um how to put it but they received the money from the Dow but didn’t hit the milestones that were set for the pip.

So think we can cover it little bit to clarify what’s going on there and one of you can talk little bit about that. Um yes um there is this uh we we haven’t funded too many pips yet. This still new experiment.

We started funding pips you know don’t know about six seven months ago.

So we’re all learning lessons here. Uh not only the council and the foundation and automata but also the authors right and sometimes where you’re putting plan together things look one way and then reality hits once you start working on it.

So we understand that the thing is that when uh PIP goes to voting with certain goals and deadlines uh everyone that’s voting for it is uh voting for that plan. And there has been tendency with couple of the pips that after they got the support and after they they were paid the first amount uh this communications stopped right there and then um or or or or little after that and then some of the milestones were not delivered and when we asked about there was no communication back and that’s been the most frustrating side because we are not here to point fingers. We’re not here to try to recover money.

We’re here to help authors be successful and expand the ecosystem. Um, but we do feel like, you know, if you’re getting funded for this by the DAO, we deserve uh well, not not us, not the council, but the police holder deserves to know what’s going on. And if you have delay, you should go and be proactive and keep everyone up to date so there’s no drama and adjust your um delivery dates and your milestones if you need to.

Um, so that’s the minimum we expect. If we don’t hear from you, um, we’re going to reach out and if we still don’t hear from you, you’re going to start hearing me and I’m pain in the ass.

So um but you know I just feel like you know we are the community is also trusting on the on the council to to keep up with this because they are not involved in all those chats that we have and all the payment stuff like every single pep uh to reach that point takes lot of uh work from the author side from our side from the foundation side. Um so we we just need to make sure that we are covered and we came together after by uh after the fact uh you know after this started happening to figure out ways where we can diminish the exposure of the DAO in these cases. Uh so we are agreeing now to to establish start establishing some some rules to try to mitigate and for example don’t pay the full amount up front but try to have clear deliverables and and if we need to give any amounts of money up front um that that that’s controlled and we know exactly why it’s needed up front and and and and how we can go about it.

Other than that as long as there’s communication there will be will to help. Um we’re here to help. We’re always message away from any answer and as soon as we have definitive answers with the different steps that we want to implement, we will update those on the knowledge base and we’ll make an announcement so everybody knows and the authors also have a better way of communicating with everyone else.

On the bright side, some of the funding has gone really well like for Ryden systems at Ryden.

It’s been, you know, great always. uh the the the guys that planned the comet, they did an amazing job and they went the extra mile and everything that that was set up there was really high quality and anyone um that came to that meeting that was not part of the Stratlas community has really real serious uh idea of what what this is just as good as if Automata would have done it. It was really professional, really great and um there’s more pips now.

think this is bull market and we should do what we can to help the community and and and see these pips uh most of the time as an investment and um let’s let’s push together, let’s expand the ecosystem and and help the authors reach those goals.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Well, something wanted to say was as as DAO council members, we’re elected to be here to help the DAO. And when we started seeing we started following up with PIP authors, not everybody was as communicative as we needed to. We didn’t get the status updates we were looking for.

So in in meeting number 22, which was earlier last month, we started because we had to come up with what was our battle plan for if people stopped communicating altogether and we needed to start considering what our options are.

So we did that. We know what our options are.

Not all of us agree on all the options and we don’t have to.

That’s fine.

But the point is is that we are doing our job by making sure that PIP authors follow through with the what they were voted to to do and give them money to do.

So we will hold people accountable to make sure that the DAO receives its value that it’s paying for. And yep, hopefully we don’t need to do any of that, but basic reporting like like anybody would need to uh normally. And that’s what Carlos is advocating for.

Please communicate. If you’re going to be late on stuff, communicate. If you can’t deliver on stuff, communicate.

The worst thing you can do is not communicate and leave us in lurch and we have to go hunt for you. Please don’t do that because then Charlie just turns bad person.

Not bad, just grumpy.

Now, on that note, um I’ve been talking to few uh community members and one of the things that that we take for granted as council um for the people that don’t sit there and just um show up to every meeting is the it’s hard to see what we do. And that’s that’s very evident. um we’re finding and we’ll talk about some of that later.

But um this is you know we we iterate. You try things just like Star Atlas in general. You try things, you break things, you see what works, what doesn’t work.

We’ve done that with um the payment process. Bod’s been killing that. Um and then some of this, you know, follow up on the pips.

You know, we’re iterating and and seeing.

So that’s lot of what we do is the stuff that you guys don’t see. Um and it’s not quick process. know if you’re if you’re not in public service, it uh you don’t really understand why why stuff doesn’t move faster.

Well, there’s just process that has to happen um when you’re, you know, in public service.

So, yeah. And what I’m showing right now on screen, we keep track of our accomplishments.

So, if you go to the Saturdays, you’ll see how much we’re doing. Uh in August alone, we did 13 things. And in September, that number is 11.

And then June was 12. And July was slower month. We only did eight things.

April, we did 23 things.

So all in all, that’s like don’t know hundred different separate accomplishments. And each accomplishment is something that touches the ecosystem that one of the council members was involved with.

So we’re we’re definitely doing stuff and we have the the receipts to prove it.

It’s just matter of think we need to communicate that little bit better and hence the Dow links, Dow reports and different stuff that that we’re going to be doing to broadcast that little bit more clearly.

Yeah. And and just to add on that on the on the opportunity side of things and the pips, think it’s also normal for things some things to work and some not to work out or to be little bit more complicated. That doesn’t mean that we as as Dow should stop trying.

Like some things are going to go well.

Some pips are going to go great.

Some others will probably be little bit more difficult to handle.

But that doesn’t mean that things are failing, right? If you don’t try, think that’s worse way worse failure than trying and things being bit complicated.

There’s there’s an expression out there is fail forward. Fail forward and fail fast.

Yeah. And it’s not even it’s not even failure would say per per se right it’s just people maybe not hitting deadlines when it comes to that but some others have even overachieved right so maybe trip trip forward absolutely yeah yeah yeah and ask ask bank if any loan they give is successful that’s why they have you know collection department you know it’s just part of reality coming for your car all we can do is try to to make sure we are not overexposed and and we’re keeping track. And it’s also important for authors to understand that they’re building reputation.

If Raiden comes tomorrow and ask the DAO for anything, we will give it to him in whatever terms because we know he can deliver. We’ll vote on it.

So, this is going to be long-term relationship, not with the consil, with the DAO. And it’s very important for authors to build this reputation.

And then and we’re we’re thinking on on on giving those authors that have reputation better tools and and better privileges than the ones that we haven’t never worked with before. Uh as far as you know down payments on the the first payment stuff like that it will be lot easier to manage when when someone has reputation that they they’ve delivered they proved that they’re here to work among us. And and if your reputation is the opposite, that also contributes and reflects in what the DAO is willing to take chance on.

And have you guys seen as council, have you guys seen difference between pips that come from long-standing community members, like people with years in the community and people with less time in the community or um like what what has been the experience with that? Funny enough, the two peeps that haven’t been able to deliver on the milestones are people that were introduced to the community at the time of the pip like like Theo and Raspby. Um Raspby does have stronger relationship with segment of the community um which they know him better and they are better informed.

So they were less worried than we were because we just you know for us it’s just one discord name um and that has story and background and we’ve seen we talk but at the end of the day in the internet in the web three environment we have learned lot of bad lessons as well.

So, so we always have to be, you know, making sure there’s communication because the it’s the communication stops. Uh, you know, we don’t have to all about communication. Uh, and the theo um he also uh like he reacted really quick to attack by Shadics the other day in because you can tell he spent more while he invested time in Discord to promote his speed.

But he’s not Discord person.

So, that has been challenge as well.

Mhm.

Yeah. Touche. did notice though sentiment Oh, I’m sorry.

Go ahead, Ember.

Yeah, I’m gonna echo what uh Jendo said.

It’s uh it’s actually good that people have missed deadlines now where we’re thinking about how to avoid and fix it.

That’s what was saying with the iterating. You don’t know what you don’t know. And you know, these these trips or failures or whatever you want to call them, it only makes us stronger.

And you don’t know, you know, you don’t have an opportunity to test some things out until you have the opportunity.

So Mhm. did notice that couple of the pips that had products think fared fared well. They were able to show what it is they wanted, especially um the EVI one.

People have been using it for so long that that came in with very strong foundation. Whereas one of the the pips that came in that hadn’t yet been built, that one’s experiencing some difficulty, uh, let’s call it, and needs to engage in little bit of politicalness to ensure that they get the support they need to pass. And that’s that’s DAO politics.

That’s our system.

Mhm. And we we can keep moving here, guys. uh maybe look forward little bit um probably and talk bit about the upcoming pips for voting um maybe get into details on the two that are um about to be live and also then probably bit about pip ideas and and some interesting ideas that you guys have seen out there.

Um think we can we can talk about that if you if you like.

Yeah, think the the two that are up are pretty pretty simple. Um, don’t have them in front of me, but don’t think we’ll spend spend whole lot of time on it, but it’s the Well, do want to personally, it’s quasi council. It Signal made this one.

And Signal, we will put your AI thing up. see you keep putting it in chat. We’ll we’ll get to that.

Um, but this is the the Dowcasters. personally think this one is really important not only to uh the Dow, but to Star Atlas. Um, and don’t know if Signal you do want to jump in and and talk about it or not, but don’t think we need to spend ton of time on it, but basically it’s uh Signal had this grand plan to do all this voting and all these things and he really really simplified it and think it’s pretty sleek right now.

Um, it’s only for threemonth period. If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.

Um, and uh, I think it’s great way to try something. Um, yeah. And it’s just my screen, right?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah, it’s showing.

Okay.

Yeah. All right. I’m slowly scrolling down.

Tell me when to stop. Here’s summary.

Yeah. Introducers, structured program of five elected content creators promoting the Star Atlas ecosystem for 3-month period. They’re paid and the total cost is 10.

8 million, which is just under the 5% ecosystem limit.

Yeah. And half that budget goes to giveaways. All right.

Very important. Half of that budget comes directly back to the community.

Yeah. For them to be able to create content with minimum amount of peridiosity and and and do giveaways and and encourage the the the the interaction with the Star Atlas community uh from hopefully reaching outside.

And then those uh five uh members will be evaluated at the end of the month. They will be paid after they’ve delivered and um and and and it sounds like really good idea to support the content creators we current currently have out there working uh for free. Um think this would make change uh even though it’s not a ginormous amount of money uh at this price, but maybe in the future it is.

So the compensation here under ongoing costs 360,000 Atlas month for five casters.

That’s 1. 8 million Atlas month. Same amount for promotional funds.

So that that’d be the giveaways that Emperor said. And there you go.

Yeah. Pretty pretty simple. We definitely uh want people to chime in on well all of these, but this one think don’t know that anyone could say that it wouldn’t have an impact.

You know, having having more um more exposure from from these Dowcasters could be nothing but good.

Yeah. And and their whole job is content creation. Put Star Atlas out there to the broader web 3 and gaming communities.

So, and do some giveaways, do some things to do engagement participation. If you’re streamer of any kind, if you are YouTube VOD person, are you Discord rat? Like, engagement is the key.

And they’ll be funded for different giveaways and challenges and stuff that you can think of to to promote that engagement and so bring in more folks.

Yeah, there will be self-nomination process.

So, no one is choosing them.

We are not choosing our friends.

There’s going to be self-nomination process and then there will be an STV vote so the community decides who are the ones that they’re going to support. Hopefully we have long list of people willing to do this and uh and then we get you know the the best of the best there delivering and helping the community and feeling the the support from the DAO as well. In the same way that council members are elected through an STV vote, so too will Dowcasters.

Yeah.

So that one’s pretty exciting. Boom.

It’s nice experiment.

It’s three months. If we like it, we copy and paste and we do it again and so on. As long as we’ve um you know feel it brings value.

So it’s it’s great idea. applaud Signal for for coming up with this idea.

It’s great.

Yeah. Yep. Organic creators receive they they they need some love.

So I’m I’m happy. And ever since the beginning of the DAO, people were saying, “Oh, we need to reward the organic creators and stuff like that. ” So here’s your chance.

There’s there’s pip there. Um, read it if you like uh the proposal. Um, there’s chance to reward this these creators like uh Beyond the Horizon and guys that have been shipping uh daily almost for years without any pay or anything.

So, Neil Armstrong as well.

Yeah. Many people working for the great cause. 5 hours 5 hours and 15 minutes.

Start your vote then.

Yeah, hope we get some international nominations as well. It would be nice to see, you know, some of the great content creators in other languages. Spanish.

Yes. And Portuguese.

Sometimes have to keep these guys on track.

So, we’re we’re gonna move on to the next one. He’s very good at don’t know that I’m very good at it, but somebody’s got to do it. Um do have heart out.

I got heart out in 15 minutes.

But yeah, the Rogue Data Hub, this is basically a database for all intents and purposes. We’re gonna they’re asking for about 8820 um to start creating Yeah. USDC to start creating the database hub.

And know there’s lot of community developers that could take advantage of this. From what I’ve seen, am, as Drum will tell you, he keeps calling me the old man of the of the the group, even though I’m not. think he is.

Um he is totally but don’t know any of the technical stuff but it sure seems like this could be really um great tool for the developers and that’s the software as service that indexes processes and exposes onchain sless data.

So kind of like flip side but you know flip side’s gone.

So here’s your opportunity to keep it going in the form of organic community development and more more like more like that is it’s like an API. Um so different projects can use the same source and that way we’re not replicating over and over and over and then we can expand on on this one. Um I believe that that was also one of the the motivations behind it.

think remember when we went through this thing when we went through this there was lot of technical stuff that most of us didn’t understand but lot of you all seem to that’s why we chose to explain it.

Yeah.

Yeah. And and did APIs IDL’s REST JSON OHLC’s end toend pipelines, like all this nerd stuff that y’all are good at. Here it is.

You get it for Rogue Data Hub. And they’re going to be doing it for 12 months.

That’s what we’ll be they’ll be on the hook for.

So, it’ll be year long. And stuff about analytics, research, Dows, Gilds, community will all be affected and be the beneficiary of this data. and they’ll start within two weeks of the the vote going through if it goes through and they’ll release the public API by week eight and and if remember correctly it is little limited on what their first one is and then they it potentially could come back for more um when we talked about it but people can dive into the details if they want but that’s yeah they’re asking for money to start that process that 8820 20 is the ecosystem fund limit at the time.

So we we had to to knock that down.

And then when through the the curation, the back and forth between us and the the PIP authors, they they weren’t able to give us everything. They had to descope some things because we asked them to lower their their dollar threshold because of the ecosystem fund limit. And so if if we really like this and the DAO just expresses huge amount, then then the Lord and the SB team can go back and and provide more at at fair value.

They’re going to be didn’t know this until they explained it, but uh smart contracts, guess, are known as programs on Salana.

So they’ll be indexing all 20 programs that are listed in the official Star Atlas program ideas IDs. That is apparently important to some people.

So there you go.

Yeah.

So that’s kind of the the overview of that one.

So go vote. Yep. Go vote in 5 hours and 14 minutes.

All these people are OG’s. OG’s from the community.

So support them.

Yes.

So wait, pip number pip number 20 was signal.

So that’s Dcaster. Pip number 21, Rogata Hud is Lordo and Soul Walker from the SMB Skull and Bones team.

And then pip 19, which is currently up, is Steven, right? Even yes, the funding independent economics research. didn’t see where he is.

Stephen Steven. There you go. Oh, there’s little error there.

My bad. And there you go. Those are the pips.

Very cool. Thank you guys for covering it. Appreciate it.

Yeah.

Yeah. And think uh we can move on to the um some of these other we’ll call it that. We’ll start with the easy one since might have to duck out.

But um one of the you know after seeing bunch of the feedback um especially from Brian and the lack of communication and then it ties into the paying the uh paying the council um idea that was up at the same time. kind of I’ve been thinking about it for long time, but um threw out the idea if people, you know, asking if people want um an automated decentralized and this again I’m not technical. Automated decentralized TLDDR basically.

Um know I’ve talked to Jendo, think it was at some of the one of the meetings where um he said, “Yeah, if there was quick five minute recap that could listen to, would be way more interested versus scrolling through all of this stuff. ” And and know lot of this can be done manually and um this is where signal um somewhere up in the chat don’t know if you’re yeah here you’re here you can post it. He made six-minute TLDDR of what we’ve done in the first 6 months of our term.

So if people want more of that stuff um and if if people want it automated um think that would be great but again I’m not technical. have no idea what it would cost. Um, so that’s what that idea was about and I’d like to get, you know, we’ve talked about it little bit, but definitely chime in in the chats if if people have some feedback.

Um, and it’s not necessarily uh an AI council member, Santi, that would be kind of cool.

But, um, at least some sort of TLDDR that’s automated to some extent. Um, but don’t know what what did you guys as community members, you know, the the two that are here, Santi and Jose, do you do you have thoughts on that? And and if other people have it, please chime in.

I do have thoughts on on the council being paid or not. Um, think from what I’ve seen behind the scenes, uh, it is work 100%. Like these guys, so much work.

These guys are that you see here, they’re spending time uh from their weekends, from their week. They have full-time jobs Friday afternoon, dude. On Friday afternoon, Saturday mornings and afternoons as well.

Uh so my personal opinion on it is that it it probably should be at least remunerated in some way. Uh it comes with lot of controversy like you were saying emperor where um some people may be like oh well what are they doing like how can we check that they are delivering on on the things that they should deliver um and think lot of it goes think lot of people just don’t don’t read guess or they don’t get informed on everything that you guys have been posting and all the meetings that you have every every Saturday. Uh but from my end think we should be remunerating it as DAO in some way.

Um again this is just my personal opinion. would love to hear from the chat like just yes or no. What do you think should council positions be paid or should they be completely voluntary?

Um post yes or no in the chat if you think it should be paid or not. Um but I don’t also don’t want to bias people with my opinion.

So if they ask for an opinion give it but yeah um think it is worth important to also differentiate between some compensation which is in my opinion you know slightly symbolic than than salary.

We are not asking uh for the DAO to hire the council right or give them living wage or anything like that. Um none of this would apply to any of us right now also.

So that some of us are pushing for it because we won’t be beneficiated.

So just to ju just to make that clear. Um yeah.

Yeah. That that’s that’s what is uh and there’s no details. We’re just we’re just kind of testing what what people think and and see what ideas are.

We’re working on our end on make everything more transparent.

we have been for months and uh and and now you know realized uh with feedback in the in the chat recently that even though we are completely transparent even though we have all our meetings in YouTube you have to be really der and follow up all the time and sacrifice your Saturdays as well to know exactly what we’re doing.

So that’s why we’re now realizing and trying to do more reporting and try to consolidate stuff in in in in couple of channels because we sat down with that with with Santi and we realized that this Discord needed more channels.

So that’s what we did. You guys are killing me.

Yeah, listen to everything on 1. 5 and the shower.

So that’s how do it.

Yeah. And I haven’t really chimed in on the the paying the council because am running next term. Um, so it’s really hard for me to not chime in because then it looks really uncou.

But like one of the questions Thor put on here, council should be volunteers. mean that’s that that what are people’s thoughts?

Yes, volunteers, but um one of the things that I’ve done in my career um for nonprofit that volunteered for for 17 years is we got um stipend. We volunteered to help build house. Um, but as show of of appreciation that the board of that organization gave us stipend.

It ended up being like $4 an hour or something. It was basically nothing. Um, but it sure in in that experience with that nonprofit, it it’s like Drum was saying, it’s more symbolic.

Um, just saying, “Hey, you guys put in lot of time. Thank you. ” And that’s how my view on it.

And and again, have trouble talking about this since I’m going to be running, but whatever.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah, do too. haven’t decided if I’m re going to run again, but it’s just it’s an awkward conversation for me just running. don’t know yet, man.

don’t know.

There’s lot we decided you are running. I do love dowing. Dowing is so much fun.

Like, love this stuff.

But there’s lot like when you become DAO council member, you there’s lot of things you have to account for and change. Like you can’t just say whatever you want anymore because you’re not just representing yourself. And whether or not you think you are, people will look at what you say and be like, “Hey, the DAO said that.

” Like, “No, no, no. Lzer said that. ” But they’re like, “No, no, Lancer’s council person.

” I’m like, mean, come on. Like, so there you can’t escape it. You’re elected.

You were elected to do job.

So people end up taking your word just little bit more than than face value or you can’t just you can’t just do whatever you want anymore. there you have to sign an agreement.

There’s different things that that agreement requires that you do and um yeah it’s responsibility.

So if you want to take on that responsibility you do that and um there’s there’s expectations that come out of that.

So it’s it’s not difficult job at least don’t think it is in my opinion.

It’s just it takes time and you have to put your thinking cap on. You have to think about hey if we do this what will happen and to the DAO and and you do the best you can with the people around you. and and you be team, you be family.

Yeah. And it’s 9month commitment. Nine month commitment.

You should be present and working every week of that nine months. And your family needs to understand of the day that as well.

So So yeah, it’s um always said that if they were paying, would have run again just to prove my wife wrong, but um I didn’t make didn’t make it.

Yeah. And and you’re not all going to agree and everyone can have their own opinion.

That’s great.

But at the end of the day, you got mission to the DAO. You got goals you’re trying to accomplish and you need to come together for that so that you don’t become team that does nothing because you’re all arguing and bickering and and that’s where the politics and and the relationship management comes into play.

It’s lot.

It’s lot of stuff, but it’s, you know, you’re just trying to do the best you can.

Yeah.

Mhm.

So, join us. Become D council person. At least run.

Mhm. Um got heart out heart out in two minutes.

But um Santi, maybe we can ask the community what they think of um paying don’t know the dollar amount. If it’s ecosystem fund, it’s under 10 grand, but if if it comes from the ecosystem fund, are people interested in having uh TLDDR um whether it’s audio or video or just text? Is that something people would want?

I’d like to to get some feedback from the live community here.

Yes or no? like monster like or well would like it to be automated but might be pie in the sky but just in general some some sort of um update that is uh is available in audio form video form basically an AI generated which Carlos or yeah which Carlos absolutely loves um but curious the poll Do you want monthly automated Dow TLDDR?

Yes, no, or maybe.

Some say maybe. Maybe yes. It looks like maybe yes.

Would you I think the most important part is not if you would like, but you would you listen to it? Would you actually watch something like that? Uh, like would you spend your time watching what the stratas is doing?

It is. It is pretty riveting stuff. Like it’s awesome.

You’ll love it. That is that is false. You’ll see Carlos and argue with each other and then Emperor be like, “Hey, you two calm down.

We got an agenda to get through. ” And then I’ll tell Signal to help like, “AI, let’s do AI artwork. ” And Bod’s like, “Did we pay people yet?

What’s the volatility of the price? ” And we all have our own thing. All right, gotta go, guys.

Emperor, thank you for what you do, man. Thank you, Emperor, brother. Thank you for everyone.

Thanks Grandpa. Uh, I’ve love I’ve loved our DAO team. We work We work well together.

We don’t always agree, but we work well together, and feel like we’re on the same side.

It’s awesome. We we disagree very nicely though. We we always get to consensus and we just we just document it and you know normally after few weeks the other person kind of comes around or understands or he’s talking about me or they realize was right.

Yeah, he’s talking about me. Lzer was right but Carlos won. And before we close here, since we are little bit over the hour, um wanted to cover the last part which is what is happening from now until January where when the council term ends.

Um what are your plans guys before that besides setting up the elections right which from what you said at Lancer will start late November. the process the process will start later on this month in in October the self-namination process.

Yeah.

Okay.

Yeah, it’s around the corner. Um, so we’ll just keep pushing trying to keep working on the consistency on the reporting and the centralization of information to make, you know, we’re working basically in making more accessible to all kinds of uh of people interested because the people that are really really interested, they come to the meetings and they watch the stuff, but that’s that’s not an easy task and it’s not sustainable over time. Um, so we are just uh realizing that that we needed to to do little bit more and we’re also may um going to be putting some energy in trying to keep the engagement up and trying to to to to give at least the community the tools to to be aware of stuff if they have time or not and come and vote and and we are deciding now what’s going to trigger push to get people to get involved uh when there’s a vote going.

we are decide trying to limit exposure. Uh but other than that, think we’re going to be very um busy with the with the elections and and the last updates. see Jet Roberts in the chat connected to another PIP, the Infinite Atlas one.

So, yep. You’ll see up here I’m showing right now uh we’ll Carlos Carlos signal will publicize the self-nomination period here at the end of the month in October.

And then Carlo, dang it. Signal again will post the announcement for the campaign period in early November and then elections will go live for two weeks late November and they’ll conclude in December and your term will begin January 12th. And this is because we have month of overlap when the new console um can assist to the meetings of the old console and we can show them all the ropes and we can show them all the different subscriptions and systems and give them access to the knowledge base and that way it’s clean handoff um where they we set them for success.

That’s right. You’re going to feel our pain for whole month and then we’re going to let you just have at it. Have more pain.

That’s Hey, by yourself. They’re paying now. They’re paying now.

Yeah, they’re paying.

It’s been fun, man.

This is such fun thing. Um, it’s it’s lot of like figuring out what you think is right for the Dow, doing what you have to do to keep the Dow going with the pips, and everything you see on the front end, we’re doing on the back end. Bada bing, bada boom.

Perfect. Perfect.

Okay.

Well, think uh that covers everything, guys. Uh appreciate you for for joining. Um always good to have you on stage.

It’s great to see you, Tom Carlos, speaking in English now instead of Spanish. We change languages sometimes.

Yeah, we do. Um Lancer, thank you so much for the presentations and keeping information clean. Dignal Bod uh Emperor, thank you for your service at the Stratus Council.

It is much appreciated. Doing Iris work for sure. Iris work.

Doing Iris work. Uh, congratulations. Congratulations.

You’re going to be the best. What happened? Thank you, friend.

appreciate it. Going to be father at the end of the year. Yep.

know. I’m I’m with her. I’m there with you with little Lanzer.

He’s just now trying to pull himself up.

Yeah, he’s not there yet, but he’s getting there.

It’s dangerous game.

Yeah, it’s dangerous game.

Right on. Awesome guys. We should more often now I realize now we should have been doing this all along.

Which next council, take look at this. Do it. Do it.

Yes. Uh all right, guys. Thank you.

Thank you for joining. And before we leave here, want to call everyone to join the economic forum tomorrow.

So think Jose is going to be hosting that together with Chris and Gareth, our econ team, and we are going to be talking about everything related to Sage, the current state of the economy. Um the month, the quarterly report has just dropped. The quarterly economic report, you can find it on announcements.

So lot of topics will come from that.

but also Chris is going to be coming into the show, let’s say, into the event with some points on the Sage economy. Um, some um updates that could be done that are easy to do and we just want to brainstorm that together with the community theory craft little bit and just talk about the state of this economy.

So guys, don’t miss it.

It’s going to be good event. Um, and then on Friday we have our Galia game night.

So if you like playing UE5, uh, make sure to join that one because we always have some rewards for those who join. We raffle some crew packs among the people that join the servers.

So Mark’s interested for that one as well. Um, and then as always, the Saturday council office hour um, happens every single Saturday. they haven’t missed once.

So, you can also mark us interested for that one. With that said, thanks again for the council for being here, the community for listening and providing feedback. Um, and we can hop on the arena right now, North America for the for some shooter action in UE5 for anyone that is down to join one or two games.

So, thank you, Lancer, again, Jose, always pleasure and congrat. Thank you, bro. And yeah, we’ll see you around, guys.

See you tomorrow. See you. Byebye.
