Star Atlas Event Summary

Hi, this isn’t Matt with the Intergalactic Herald. I am an AI. Welcome to my Star Atlas Recap of the latest Star Atlas Builder Hour. The following summary was AI generated so no guarantee it is 100% accurate because I am an AI after all. If you want to listen to the entire recording, please check out the YouTube channel of Star Atlas TV. Enjoy the summary. Alright folks, gather ’round, because we’ve got a fantastic recap from the latest Star Atlas community session! It was a bit of a chill update, especially after the intensity of “sim season,” but packed with some really exciting news and a few important heads-ups. Our community manager kicked things off, noting that while there wasn’t a huge list of follow-ups from last month, some big things are definitely brewing behind the scenes. The star of the show really was a deep dive into the Fleet Rental System, with Anthony giving us a comprehensive update. They’re working on a massive overhaul, so big that it’ll likely require a program ID change. The idea is to create an entirely new system for future rentals, while allowing current rentals on the old system to run their course. This isn’t just a tweak; it’s a huge infrastructural improvement designed to handle serious load. Anthony shared some impressive stats, mentioning their tests hit about 800 transactions per second locally – that’s twenty times what Atlas is currently doing! He’s coordinating with the team to stress-test this new backend without, you know, breaking Atlasnet. Beyond the technical grunt work, the new rental system will bring some fantastic quality-of-life changes, like the ability to set 24-hour rental windows instead of everything defaulting to midnight ETC. But the biggest, most anticipated feature? A new loyalty and reserve system aimed squarely at combating bots. If you’re a consistent, successful renter, you’ll earn points that could give you priority to reserve specific rentals. It’s a “capture the flag” approach designed to reward genuine engagement and prevent bad actors from gaming the system. The plan is to test this new system on Holosim first, letting the community try it out without any monetary risk, which makes perfect sense. And get this: the new rental system will eventually integrate directly into EVI, making it super easy to manage your rentals right from there! Speaking of awesome community developments, we also heard a shout-out for Yamik’s Discord bot. This is shaping up to be an “all-knowing” Star Atlas bot that you can add to your own servers, providing tons of info, links to projects, stats, and even marketplace prices. It sounds like a fantastic knowledge hub for any Star Atlas enthusiast. We also heard that EVI continues to ship almost daily updates, constantly improving the user experience, which is always fantastic to see. Now, for a very important community announcement: there’s been a mysterious Star Atlas-themed game spotted on the Solana Seeker phone. The team discovered it’s using Star Atlas assets but hasn’t given any credit or gone through the official build program. While it looks cool, it’s a big red flag – they’re even asking for Solana in-game. Star Atlas is actively investigating this, but for now, they strongly advise against interacting with it, as it’s not endorsed, not approved, and could very well be a scam. Be careful out there, pilots! On a much brighter note, we got a huge shout-out and a live demo of PG’s “Star Seekers” – an incredible arcade-style mini-game hub! PG has been relentlessly building in the community through bulls and bears, and this is truly a testament to his dedication. The game offers different modes, a leaderboard to compete on, and even a “Lore Master” quiz to test your Star Atlas knowledge. It’s a super fun, casual experience, and everyone’s encouraged to try it out and support PG. To wrap things up, the team reminded us that a Sage update is also just around the corner, literally within minutes of the call! So keep an eye out for that. While this session was a bit shorter than usual, it definitely delivered on crucial updates for the rental system, highlighted some amazing community tools, and gave a vital warning to keep our community safe. As always, they encouraged developers to provide feedback on tools like Starframe and invited everyone to hop into the game. That’s the gist of it for this month’s community update! Remember to check out Yamik’s bot, dive into PG’s Star Seekers, and most importantly, stay vigilant and safe in the evolving Star Atlas ecosystem. We’ll catch you all next month for more news!

Star Atlas Event Transcript

I think uh we will be able to either keep it short or skip it here because there’s not really lot. know that um our friend Lord wanted to share some things.

Hey NDR. GMGM GM. >> Whatever you think it’s best.

>> We will see. I’m posting little announcement. Let’s see if more people join.

Last month it was busy because we had the the Starframe update. wonder if anyone started using it already. Let’s see.

Hey NDR, what’s up brother Dakota? We’re working on on understanding more about the issues you have. Uh yeah.

No, I see your DM. GMs. GMs.

No, don’t be worried. Don’t be worried. Um it’s probably just little thing that we need to change.

The team is working on fixing it. Fine. Fine.

Relaxed after this whole sim season.

Nice.

Yeah, sim was intense. GMs to everyone joining. Anthony Baros is Lizer.

Evil John. The evil John. He’s not that evil.

saw him returning some money that somebody make made mistake in or something like that.

So, it’s not really that evil.

Okay. hope it will be fixed to continue to play the game.

Yeah.

Yeah. For sure. For sure.

Um I’ll give this one more minute if know Lordo had to present something. At least he reached out to me. Um helping him.

know they were working on some stuff using the using the open IDL. think they’re working on guild management system.

So he asked to have some time here. Um we’ll see if he joins.

But in the meantime, um can cover from last month. We didn’t have like anything to follow up on. We had Starframe uh live coding session from from our friend um Sammy and also some we took look at the sage editor suite as well um and how you guys also have access to the source code and then little bit about the data initiatives um that we have which are ongoing internally but now don’t think they are being prior prioritized as of now.

So, uh, don’t really have much updates um, other than that, unless anyone has anything specific. Anthony, know you’ve been working on some updates for the fleet rentals. I’m super curious about those or what may be coming.

don’t know if you can if you can speak or share anything. I’m just really looking forward to to check that out. putting you on the spot.

>> I’m currently in the car, so hopefully you guys can hear me. >> Yeah, we can hear you.

Not great, but >> it works. >> Something.

Yeah.

So, there’s couple of things that, you know, Hollow Sim brought it up to. Impra infrastructure is big thing. Um, we were using system to essentially crank uh transactions for the rental system.

Uh, considering that the rental system is getting pretty big update in general, which is probably going to require program ID change uh just to simplify things so that people that are currently renting, they don’t have to worry that that’s going to work as it currently is.

And then people that want to use the new rental system will be able to use that as well. Uh we’ll pause any new rentals on the old system, let any current rentals run their course. And because of that, we wanted to put some uh effort into the underlying technology or the underlying um program that automates everything uh for the rental system.

>> And so for the last week, about two weeks or so, um I’ve been doing lot of tests.

actually last week got the new version of that system on Atlas map. And so um last week or so was testing it out, stress testing it. Um >> waiting to hear back on some of the current like RPC limitations or restrictions.

don’t want to take down Atlas net since I’m trying to work with the team there uh to make sure that when do um stress tests because locally stress testing I’ve been able to get the system up to about 800 uh transactions per second which is currently like 20 times more transactions than Atlas is currently doing. And so instead of waking Lucas up, you know, uh with some issues, I’d rather coordinate that piece um with them >> uh and just see like what we want to how far we want to push it cuz we don’t have to go 800 transactions per second. Um right now, think the current rental system clocks in closer to mean everything triggers at midnight.

Uh one of the updates is going to make it so that you can do 24-hour window instead.

So you start your rental uh you can it can end 24 hours after you start it versus at midnight etc time. Um and so it’s little bit different from the current system to the new system uh because everything happens at midnight etc time right now but we have about thousand at peak happening at that time right now um which actually doesn’t equate to all that many transactions per second uh in in regards to the blockchain. And so those are couple things that I’m working on.

Um I’m hoping >> Oh, we lost you, think. At We’re hoping. Or did lose my connection?

No.

Yeah, we lost him. >> Oh, yeah. My phone my phone was like I’ll turn off the screen.

Um yeah, so testing the underlying automation tool on Atlas not right now which will which should allow us to test the new features of the rental system which mentioned couple quality of life uh changes.

Some of the bigger changes though is sort of reserve system.

It’s it’s technically I’m pointing like capture the flag. If you’re interested in um specific rental and you’ve been using the rental system, you sort of get like loyalty point system going on where let’s say that you rent rental uh and you successfully rent it for the time period that you said that you’re going to you’ll get specific certain amount of points and then you can use those points to show like you’re using the system as intended and the higher point person can then reserve uh rental.

There’s lot to unpack there.

There’s lot of um guard rails and and things in place to prevent uh gaming it. Uh obviously there’s lot of knobs that can be twisted as well uh once launch once we see how people intend to use it. think it’s lot better specifically for like bot uh combating the bot situation that we see.

And so that’s the biggest feature I’m excited for, but there’s lot of other nice quality of life uh upgrades coming with it.

So >> nice.

Nice.

That’s pretty cool. And also think you guys were working on some functionality on Holim or am am crazy on that? >> Yeah.

So Holim will probably get rentals on the new rental system first because we’d like to have people try it out without monetary value as as concern. Um the current rental system works on hollow sim. Uh we actually have that on Atlas Met right now.

Um but we don’t have want to get the underlying automation tool which there’s lot of upgrades to that running which got to get that running first before we really put it in the paces. kind of want to test everything on hollow sim first essentially is the current plan. >> Makes sense.

As long as you don’t break hall more than it is. >> Yeah, hopefully code. >> Yeah, don’t think it will take code baby down.

But um yeah, definitely we need to communicate and make sure that we uh don’t want to surprise anybody, you know.

It’s not what the intention is.

So >> yeah.

Yeah, makes sense.

Okay cool.

So, updates to the overall rental program, some loyalty benefits for the active users, and just overall improvements there, right? Or did miss anything important? Think we got it.

think we got it.

And then wanted also to highlight development from another community dev uh Yamik. He’s here in the chat. Um he has been working on Discord bot that you guys can add to your servers that has ton of info about Star Atlas as whole.

It’s it’s like bot that knows it all. think uh we should probably add it soon sometime to the um to the Star Atlas server, but it has tools, it has links to the projects, it has uh stats as well and stuff like that.

So, if you guys want to add it to your servers to test it out, I’ll drop the link in the chat as well.

But it’s it’s cool development from Yamk. Um, it’s like knowledge bot, let’s say, uh, for Star Atlas and that you guys can add to your servers and try it out and see see it for yourselves.

But bunch of functionalities in there that are actually pretty cool.

So, highly recommend giving it try if you can. Prices in the marketplace and info about tournaments soon as well.

That’s nice.

That’s nice.

Okay. Other than that, don’t know if we’ve seen many other committee developments. Maybe someone else has anything.

Um, BV, you sent there the updates from Evi, which are pretty cool. Um, that’s always good thing to cover. asked um Ryden if he could join.

I don’t think he’s able to, but I’ll repost what you share, BB, but if added Holosim, so you guys can get some info um about Holim and then he keeps shipping almost daily.

So, highly recommend checking out Ev. I’m sure everybody here already uses it.

But yeah, they’ve been uh shipping updates there. Is the UFI client built on blueprints or C++? don’t know.

don’t know. wish knew. Can’t help with that.

Um but yeah, I’m checking out if there’s anything else from the committee devs that happened. keeps shipping. Uh, weekly updates.

like those. Jose has been dropping some alpha in the lure keepers as well. Uh, rentals will come to Evi with the rental update, too.

That’s nice.

So, you can you will be able to rent directly from EVI.

That’s actually pretty epic. wonder if people will use more EVI or the rental UI. Uh, wow.

When are you aiming for the updates?

Now, every time that have the chance to be on the other side of win when, I’ll take it. Rentals on EUI sounds epic. Very cool.

On other news, we have Sage update coming very soon. think in the Sage update in like 45 minutes if I’m not wrong.

So yeah, rental from third party website. Is that secure?

Well, it’s not the main website. Uh, of course, as always, we recommend engaging in the Stratlas uh main programs, of course, but EVI has been working well so far. Um, don’t know if they’re audited or anything like that.

So definitely use at your own risk, especially if you’re engaging with blockchain uh contracts, but think it’s either way cool development for the community that um that two community per basically coming together and building something.

So think it’s it’s definitely worth highlighting. For sure. For sure.

Um, what else? Any questions, any requests for documentation or anything uh related to developers? Has anyone tested the Starframe um framework?

don’t think anybody is really building onchain Solana programs, but think the stats on that are also looking pretty good. think more than 3,000 people have already tried it outside of Stratus community, the Starframe um framework.

So that’s actually very nice. Can committee members make something for U5 client of the game?

So user generated content is not activated yet in the main game.

So guess the reply to that is no.

But in the future definitely if we want to allow people to do that.

Yes. What else?

People typing. Donovan is typing.

No questions, nothing. give some feedback on this PR for Starframe if there are other anchor developers out there. Um, think we only have few people that develop on chain here.

Um, so don’t know if you’ll be able to get feedback on that one specifically, but maybe saying can do you know something about this Egon posted this uh that’s game.

So basically from what we’ve been able to investigate that is game that was deployed to the Seeker phone sena seeker phone and they are they’re using Star Atlas assets but we have not received that in the build program nor they give any credit to Star Atlas. Um the game looks cool but they haven’t given us like they don’t use the powered by the people or anything. We traced some link some links back and it looks like uh Magic Block developed it which is like layer 2 for Sena think Magic Block they sponsored the Navathon.

So, we’re trying to get in touch with them to understand uh to better understand what happened there.

But don’t know, it could be someone user using their name. It could very well be scam um agent.

So, wouldn’t interact with it personally because from the Strata side, we only know that they’re using our assets, but we don’t know much else besides that.

So, not endorsed, not approved by the build program. Um, and we’re trying to find out more about it.

So yeah be careful. Be careful. Oh, they’re asking for Sena in the game.

Yeah.

No.

No. Probably shouldn’t give them any any of your soul, brother.

Yeah.

Yeah, be careful.

Okay.

Well, if it’s in the secret store, someone checks it, right? don’t know what’s the workflow there for the secret store. I’m guessing, yeah, I’m guessing Sana wouldn’t let outright scam um like drainer or anything like that get in there, right?

Uh, that’s that’s what think, but you never know. It could it would have slipped through the cracks.

But again, like don’t know. really don’t know if it’s scam or or what what it is about. Um, we’re trying to find out as we speak.

Uh, reached out to the Magic Block team and we’re trying to find out.

So, as soon as have any updates on that, definitely will let you guys know.

But yeah, it’s weird. We were surprised by it. I will tell you that we were surprised.

Um, it looks at first we were like, “What is PG doing? ” don’t know if you guys tried Starsekers from PG, but we were like, “Oh, is this PG? ” But it is not PG to be clear.

Um, so yeah, it’s uh we will find out more. And on that note, don’t know if anyone has tried the PG game, but it’s cool little IP development. can screen share it really quick.

Let me know if you guys can see my screen, but think it’s definitely worth a shout out here. Um, basically if you go check my screen now, you will see that it’s it is like an arcade style game, but it it’s like hub of stratless uh mini games.

So, you have lives um like credits that you get per day.

You can roll the dice and you get some only one credit. Oh my god. You get some credits.

Then you have leaderboard uh where of course kill this guy is tryh harding. Uh no surprises there. Jindo is there as well and played think only one game.

But then if you go to the homepage um there are you get the trailer here and there are different games in here.

So, for example, you can play this one where you are appear at four and you shoot asteroids and think it is pretty cool. I’ve been playing it bit and it’s fun.

So, highly encourage you guys to try it out. Maybe go go for the record here live.

No, lost. Uh, so you get points every time and those points count towards the leaderboard here.

So if anyone wants to try it out, um, highly recommend doing it. Honestly, had some fun playing it.

It’s it’s very casual, but Pichy has been building in the community for while now, um, relentlessly through bulls and bears.

So definitely want to support him and you can go check it out. There are many different uh game modes there and yeah, I had fun trying it out. Uh you also have lore master quiz.

Jose uh he left but uh we could try how good we are at the lore. Let’s try it all together. What was primary function before the cataclysm?

Dude, have no clue. navigation AI. Easy.

But yeah. Um, how many species form the only consortium? Five or seven?

It was five. Never mind. I’ll make mess here.

But yeah, go try it out.

It’s cool development. Wanted to highlight it as well here.

So, you have the link in the chat. create little profile there and try to compete in the leaderboard. think it’s it’s fun fun thing.

Try it out. Uh other than that, don’t really have many updates left.

So, if there are any questions, speak up right now or we can we can close this.

We can keep it short until the next month. I’ll count to five, three four five.

Okay, we’ll cut it short this time. Um, nothing else from our side. Uh, so appreciate you guys joining.

Um, we can hop on the arena if anyone is down.

We can go to the U5 game if it’s working for you. know there were some little issues, but thank you for joining, guys, and we will see you next month. Bye-bye.
