Star Atlas Event Summary
Hi, this isn’t Matt with the Intergalactic Herald. I am an AI. Welcome to my Star Atlas Recap of the latest Lore Keepers from the Star Atlas Community Team. The following summary of the Lore Keepers was AI generated so no guarantee it is 100% accurate because I am an AI after all. If you want to listen to the entire recording, please check out the YouTube channel of Star Atlas TV. Enjoy the summary. Hey everyone, welcome back to the Star Atlas recap! If you missed the latest Lore Keepers session, boy, did you miss out! The stars truly aligned for a treasure trove of information, kicking off the first session in a while with some serious alpha across the board. It was a lore-heavy episode, as the name suggests, but packed with tangible game development updates that have the community buzzing. The biggest buzz was definitely around Project Galia, Star Atlas’s ambitious MMO exploration mode. The community has been clamoring for more content on this, and the team delivered! For all you OGs who dreamed of exploring new worlds and delving into deep lore, that dream is getting a tangible boost. The team revealed they’re pouring more internal love into Project Galia, specifically a solo campaign experience that’s getting an RPG approach. Picture this: You start as a single character in the Ecteria sector, an area bordering Mud and Ustur civilizations. This mission is a full story where you’ll upgrade your character, find new weapons, craft ships, and get to explore, mine, and scan – essentially everything Brad has shown in his gameplay trailers, but now with a clear narrative purpose. They even gave us a sneak peek into the opening mission: you, as a Mud Special Forces “Holy Servant,” are sent to investigate a silent sector after a strange vessel appeared. You get ambushed by Jarvik pirates, crash-land on a dangerous jungle planet with an “Alien vs. Predator” vibe, and your first goal is to escape! This planet is super weird, with jungles right next to lava fields, and strangely sparse life despite rich resources. You’ll need to learn the crafting system, scavenge for an air bike, and make your way to a starbase – which, by the way, isn’t your usual friendly outpost! The goal is for this to be an ongoing campaign with procedurally generated quests for freight, mining, and bounty hunting, so you’ll never run out of things to do. And the best part? While it’s starting with Mud lore as a prototype, the goal is to expand this to all factions – imagine playing as an Oni or Ustur, with the story adapting to your crew members! As for the economy, while direct “INK to earn” might not be there immediately, think unique skins or special items as rewards for completing the main campaign, potentially leading to custom items or XP exclusive to the single-player experience later on. Brad and the team are aiming for an MVP of this campaign by the end of the year, so you might be celebrating the holidays with some Unreal Engine 5 Star Atlas goodness! It’s a fantastic way to develop the lore, characters, and world, all while testing mechanics for the full MMO. But that wasn’t all! The discussion then beautifully transitioned to the upcoming Unreal Engine 5 pre-season release, titled “Maharog.” Maharog, a four-week-long So’mian festival, tells the poignant story of the So’mian species during the Convergence War. We delved deep into the So’mian perspective, drawing from “The Annals of the Long Night,” a historical account by Mariff Grafar. This is where we got some serious alpha – information never shared publicly before! We learned that the So’mians were nearly wiped out during the Convergence War, their population plummeting from billions to just 10,000 individuals. The reason for their near-extinction? Their unwavering commitment to “Dupra,” their guiding principle of honor and noble action. They were the first to discover that some Tufas – those rocks everyone else was harvesting for Genium – were actually sentient beings. Their leader, Paisu, declared the Tufas under So’mian protection, swearing an oath to defend them. When other factions, blinded by greed, ignored this, the So’mians found themselves fighting alone against everyone. Then came the heartbreaking “Shattering,” the first week of Maharog, marked by the assassination of their leader, Paisu, right before she could share her plan for peace. This catastrophic event plunged the So’mians into despair, leading to three days of silence. It was Paisu’s husband, Bealu, who broke the silence with a powerful cry, swearing to fulfill her oath. In that moment, the entire So’mian population, usually stoic and hierarchical, broke down with him, swearing revenge and renewing their commitment to Paisu’s promise. It’s a period of deep mourning but also duty and renewed faith. This pivotal moment leads into the second week of Maharog, “The Exile.” Bealu led the remaining So’mians deep into the high-risk zone, vanishing from Galia expanse to a nameless planet rich in ores. There, they began building the first Titan ship – a vision of Paisu’s for a fortress-like vessel that would turn the tide of war. Meanwhile, leaders of the So’mian noble houses embarked on a mission to forge alliances, ultimately forming what would become the Oni Consortion with the Punabs and Mierese. They were met with contempt at first, but So’mian stubbornness and a series of challenges eventually won over these future allies, even amusing the Photoli enough to join! And a cool lore detail for future gameplay? So’mians hammer their personal oaths and convictions into their weapons – so, when we get UE5 loot tables, expect to find these lore tidbits in their item descriptions! Unfortunately, we only got through two of the four weeks of Maharog, so there’s much more to come in future Lore Keepers! Before wrapping up, there were quick teasers for Project Afterfall, the theme for Season 2 of Holo Scene, which envisions a collapsed Galia civilization where players must survive. And a mention of the mysterious Star Atlas itself – its importance to the lore and how it will tie into everything. What a session! It was clear the community was buzzing with all this alpha, from the immediate playable experiences to the deep lore that grounds the entire Star Atlas universe. So, while we’ll have to wait for the next Lore Keepers to fully unravel Maharog and these other exciting topics, there’s plenty to look forward to! Keep an eye out for more details on these developments, and remember to join the Galia Gaming Night tomorrow. Thanks for tuning in, and we’ll catch you next time!
Star Atlas Event Transcript
one of my days off.
So today, >> the stars aligned. >> Yeah, the stars aligned. >> Mhm.
>> And well, to your dismay, we are going to talk lot about Jenna’s lore today.
But there is some mud as well, so don’t feel too sad.
It’s going to be very entertaining episode, believe. Ah man, it feels >> and it’s and it’s the first in while, right? You have Yeah, you have not had these.
>> think missed the last one due to timelines for the town hall, which is super sad by the way. this those are my by far my favorite moments in Saratas. GM everyone.
GM tango, GM stick, GM Kir. Uh jam agent solace. Let’s give the guys two minutes to join because Bob VB because today have alpha on pretty much all fronts.
is ready to mute you.
But yeah guys, today we are going to talk about few different lore topics. Um, let me line up everything have for you today. It is funny because one of the main topics of today is actually something that you guys have rightly righteously asked about in the last brew.
Uh, you guys were talking about how you guys were feeling the need for more content on Project Galia, the MMO exploration mode of Star Atlas. It is think most of the people here are OGs of this project.
So you guys just as me have been called here with the dream of exploring the stars, seeing entirely new worlds, uh delving the lore of crazy galaxy, try to master the elements of those worlds. And Project Galia is the expression of this dream or the more tangible way of this dreaming becoming reality. And while it’s true that the company has been focused on building building blocks on many different fronts, today bring the the good news that project Galia is getting more internal love.
Brad and and other team members from different departments have been working together on for now single player experience where we explore the potential of uh project gallas reload chat. How you doing my friend?
So, yep, we are working on solo campaign that follows little bit of an RPG approach to to the single player experience of Star Atlas. Uh, it is mission that explores the story of sector inside Gali Expense, the Ectteria sector. And it’s full story where you guys will be able to start with single character, uh, upgrade this character, find new weapons, uh, craft ships, uh, yes, stick, need an announcement if you can help me.
Uh, it’s it’s going to be super cool.
We have built entire uh entire new gameplay loops for that.
So for example, you have an inventory.
So you can craft weapons, you can uh craft ships, you’ll be able to explore different worlds, you’ll be able to mine, you’ll be able to scan, you’ll be everything that Brad has shown in his gameplay trailers. Uh but in mission with purpose with story line where we expand the see people talking about Inca. I’ll talk about this in second.
Uh we’ll be able to to explore the lore, explore the different characters, explore the world of Staratus. And I’m super excited about this. Uh see people obviously wants to know about the integrations with the economy.
Uh Katier and Bob are asking may uh don’t think at the first moment we’ll see like an ink way to earn ink for example.
But can see things like, for example, you being able to once you learn once you finish the main story, uh, getting special skin or elements that you can translate to other Stratas gameplay loops.
But the main purpose here is more about developing the story, developing characters, developing the world of Star Atlas. I’ll talk little bit about the plot of this story uh later today, but the objective here is more to cater for the experience of going through the Stratus world, learning about the plants, the animals, the NPCs.
It’s all about Yeah, ex.
It’s exactly that, VB. The story is all about an air bike and dream and that’s it. You guys will be you get into the into the sector.
Uh your character is going to be in mission. bunch of crazy things happen and you guys will need to deal with this harsh sector of GI expanse on your own. You guys will be able to see many cool stuffs like our planet engine.
Uh crash my friend. think you have hot mic. Uh you’ll be able to see the different environments that we have in in GI expense.
So you’ll be able to see jungles. You’ll be able to see different types of star bases. You see the crafting system in Unreal Engine 5 even at its early stages.
It’s going to be blast. Like we are super excited. Brad and I, we are working on this together.
So, we are super excited. We’ll be able to tell little bit of the mud story on that on that uh campaign. It is mud sector that’s going to be the the main harbor for this story.
So, think it’s going to be exciting. Uh, and yeah, that’s the that’s the main plot, Bob.
But it’s going to have it’s the idea here should be an ongoing campaign.
So, for example, when you finish the main mission, there will be procedurally generated quests in variety of uh different fronts.
So for example, we have created uh mechanics for uh freightors quest, mining quests, bounty hunting quests, and those will be endless. Like there will be always content on those fronts. Uh you don’t need to worry about running out of things to do.
So, if you are on the mood for some chill experience to just uh playing Star Atlas, enjoy the scenery, learn about the lore, etc. think it’s going to be super cool and it also allows us to test mechanics for the full MMO version of Staratlas.
So, this serves multiple purposes. Uh, we can have fun.
We can have explore Unreal Engine 5.
We can go deeper in the lore.
We can test mechanics.
It’s it’s to be honest, it’s one of the things that I’m most most excited about.
No, Kier, it’s going to be whole new map.
We are we are building it from the ground.
Yes, VB.
We are going to hide things in the map. Secrets to discover. uh audio files um many cool stuff like can’t give you all the alpha on that front but it’s going to be super cool and this is one of the topics that photos of Dominic PG bro you you secretly love Dominic bro that’s the only explanation that have but yeah this is one of the fronts that have for you guys today.
We’ll be talking about that. Uh yeah, don’t know how this will play together with uh the overall XP system, Bob.
This is something for to discuss.
But but yeah, it is possible. It is possible to have integrations like those. Maybe not in the first moment but in the future for sure it’s going to be integrated in some capacity.
Another thing that want to talk about today is about Maharok. Let me drop this in the chat real quick guys. Hold on.
Um where is it now? Hold on. uh VB it’s there will be NPCs there will be quests but don’t expect something to be super deep especially in this first moment this will come in future uh updates and iterations of this game play loop The second thing that want to talk about today is about Maha Maharog.
Maharog is festival in the soian culture that’s very special in the world of Statlas and it is also the theme of our upcoming preseason release in Unreal Engine 5. Maharog is the festival that spans and tells the story of the convergence the Soian people events in the convergence war. It is it’s part of the story that you guys know that mean for those of you who have been following the lore more closely.
You guys know that Paisu who was the leader of the Smium people was assassinated during the convergence war and the soian species as whole was nearly extinct during the period of the convergence war. And this is one of the most uh important part important parts of War Canon because it tells the story about first what happened, how for the Smian people to nearly be obliterated from GI expans. how they managed to survive, how they built the last 10 and finally ended up winning the convergence war in Star Atlas and forging the current uh cons of peace that we have nowadays.
This is of course very important moment in our lore and I’m super happy that finally get to start sharing with you guys this information because it’s super important in the overall kennel of Star Atlas. And today we are going to do deep dive on this piece of the story and I’m going to share with you all the tale of uh pretty much what happened during the convergence war on the sian side. Uh how they survived it, how they built the last stand, how the only consortion was formed between the punabs, mere sagians and photoolis.
And finally, how the Smians uh turned around the conversions war, wrote the console of peace treaty, the treaty of peace and pretty much pacified Galia in the current way that it it exists.
Now, finally, if we still have some time, also want to talk about project afterfall. Project Act after fall is the theme of let’s say season two of holos scene which plays out on scenario where civilization in Gallion has collapsed and you guys as the players will need to play in PV environment to try to survive against the the events that destroyed the Atlas and nearly wipe out wipe it out civilization in galax. Uh think also promised last time that would talk about the Star Atlas.
I’m not sure if have spoken publicly about what happened. What is the Star Atlas first of all and its importance in GI expense and this is funny thing because this project’s name is Star Atlas.
So uh maybe it it is super important for the lore and for everything that we are doing here and also want to touch bases on that bring some more context and develop little bit more the lore on that side.
So as you guys can see uh there are lot there is lot to talk about today uh and don’t know what don’t want to lose time we we need to start deep diving in all those elements and maybe maybe uh we can get started on the Unreal Engine 5 part of this loreke keepers and we can talk about the story of the project Galia upcoming map. The story of the the first story that we’re going to share today is this story about Project Galla and the single play campaign that you guys are going to participate once Brad and finished developing this game. The campaign is centered around the story of mud special forces called the holy servants.
The holy servants are part of the military of the mud faction that is linked with uh the religious leading group of the mud civilization. As you guys know, the mud civilization was built around uh the idea that they were guided by God to come to Galia expanse and find promised land here amidst the worlds of Galia where humanity would finally be able to escape uh the constraints of death, old age, famine and everything that hindered their development back in the planet earth. The holy servants is group of people that are trained both in the military and the church of humankind to seek out dangerous artifacts that come from the high-risisk zone.
So you have the normal mud military uh that’s ruled by PICE and the generals of the Manuzuch Madiva and you have those guys that are called when supernatural elements or elements beyond the comprehension of the current stage of technology in the mud faction hits the fan. The story starts with the player character, you guys, uh being called in mission of the sorf saying that sector in the border of the mud and uh civilizations. um has gone silent after they reported that an strange vessel warped into that sector.
You guys, and don’t want to spoil too much of the lore. ICVB is already calling for crusade, but don’t want to spoil too much of the of the story of the of this plot.
But you guys come to this planet, you guys come to this sector and quickly your patrol is ambushed by Jarvik pirates. And this is very weird because first of all, Jarvis don’t usually come that deep into mud territory overall. And they also don’t come seeking for artifacts like the one that has been reported in this sector.
[Laughter] see the Gibbs. start laughing.
Sorry. And and what happens is that when your fleet is ambushed by the Joric pirates, you guys end falling in in planet in this sector. It is very, how can put it?
Dangerous planet in that very sector. And the first mission, I’ll give some spoilers of this first mission and we’ll stop here. The first mission is to escape this initial planet after falling there in escape pod that drops from your main fleet armada.
So the game starts with you guys in what seems to be very beautiful jungle in the in the heart of this sector called Ectaria. Let me right and everything in this planet is very dangerous. First of all, the natural life in that planet is dangerous and you drop there without communications with anyone in this sector.
Uh so you try to reunite with the members, the other members of the holy servants during this mission. And after little bit of time uh exploring this planet, searching for Yes, it’s jungle planet. Think about alien versus predator vibe jungle VB here.
And after exploring this planet for little while, you discover that the planet is very very very weirdly terraformed. In this planet, you have jungle uh jungles right across lava fields. And you see things like fogs and snows.
Someone clearly tempered with the formation of this planet. And and as you and you start to investigate this planet, you find odd mining formations. Uh you found you found uh abandoned abandoned abandoned claim stakes spread throughout the jungle.
And the most weird of all you found you find nearly to no life in this planet which should be thriving due to its natural resources in that front.
So the first mission like say the tutorial for the single player mode will be to learn what happened with your platoon of of holy servants. Uh you have to investigate what planets you guys are on. Uh you need you see that Jarvis are searching for you and your people across this planet and you need to find way to escape.
This tutorial missions actually ends when you manage to acquire an air bike and flee from the planet towards the the first star base that you can find.
But then when you do that, well, things starts getting weird. And don’t want to spoil too much, but let’s I’ll tell you guys that the star bases in this sector are not the usual star bases that you find in most civilized sectors of GI expense.
So that’s the plot. uh you need to find whatever is going on this se in the this sector. You need to find way to communicate with the holy servants outside the sector because the sector is locked once you figure out what’s going here to call for reinforcements and you pretty much need to survive.
Many mechanics that we have on sage and hollow scene will be translated to this game.
So, for example, your ship, you need to have fuel to fly your ship. You need to have ammunition to fight your enemies. You have scanners that will tell you uh where enemies and fleets and objectives are.
You have mining loops uh and etc. And yeah, there’s lot going on.
It’s going to be super fun. And don’t want to spoil too much of the story, but it will feel the our idea is that this feels like the escape velocity of Star Atlas single player or MMO experience even if as single player time. This mission uh see people asking about the the starting mission.
This mission is focused on mud lore at this point.
But this is just due to our since this is prototype, we are doing this on mud faction right now.
But we want to expand this logic. We want to create maps and possibilities for all factions. And one of our objectives later on is that you can use your crew members, the ones that you guys own in this single player experience.
So you would be able to play as Mud, you’ll be able to play as, you play as Oni, and the story would adapt to your crew member and to your your uh dialogues and how you guys will expand in this world. Any questions so far about this first topic? comments, dreams, fears, hopes.
I’m open to everything.
Yeah, the obvious question when all done all done by us. Uh Kachir will have pirates, we’ll have other enemies, not only muds. Uh we are also thinking of ways to adding there will be bosses for sure.
This is one of the prerequisites. Uh we want to have bosses, boss battles here.
This is tricky thing but we are developing how it’s going to work and and yeah is it all done manually by you guys? All done manually like am the one writing the story Brad is creating the gameplay loops and we are getting support from engineers in automatum.
So it’s all built in house. Uh it is UE5 PG.
Yes we are talking about U5 here. and Slicer asked when uh want to have MVP ready. Me and Brad are aiming to have one by the end of year so you guys can celebrate the holidays with playing U5 and showing your family how cool Staratas is.
And yeah, it’s not going to be complete as the full version that what am describing here, but it’s going to be playable the first missions and etc. this tutorial world and the basics of this campaign. And as time goes by, we’ll be adding more gameplay loops, missions, side quests, and going all the way on the main story line.
We are we have good road map for it. You guys will be enjoying and interacting with those characters uh for long time if everything works out as we are planning.
So yeah uh was talking about this early Jindo at the beginning uh not necessarily we will earn XP and ink.
This is something that we are still studying on how this can play out in the future. It surely will happen.
But something that see more immediate or in the short term is having unique skins for, for example, if you finish the main campaign in the single player, herwards for the players who play the campaign. And maybe later we can add stuff like custom items or XP that you can only acquire in the single player experience.
So uh this is the first thing have for today. Any questions so far? Ideas, concepts questions feedback love hate or can move on to Maharog.
Yeah, know you guys would be happy with this. am happy too.
Yeah, this is this is the kind of stuff that we are here for, right?
So, really like it. I’m happy that we can start dedicating more time and and work to this front. And with that said, with that said, let me take you guys to the other side of the galaxy.
where we are going to talk about the Maharok. just second because have lots of things to share on this and need you.
So I’m dropping few things on the chat and let’s start with what is this Maharog? Why is it important and how you guys are going to engage with this? As said in the beginning, uh, Maharog is directly linked with the convergence war story and is focused on the oni consortion and it’s also the title for our pre-season release for our upcoming preseason release.
Uh, it is still UE5.
This is serial 5B and the Maharog uh in our real world is period of four weeks and each week of the Maharog tells the tale of fragment of the soian species story during the convergence war. It goes from the very beginning with the death of Paisu of what was happening uh why the soians were nearly extinct during the convergence war and this is something that we never shared publicly before.
So this is the alpha of the alpha. Here you guys are hearing firsthand all the way to the construction of the first Titan ship in Galia, the last stand and finally uh the only victory that lead them to the formation of the Oni consortion and the council of peace and the current Staratlas lore that we have nowadays. that pretty much organized the map as you guys see in sage hollow scene star based etc.
Um the way that I’m telling the tale of Maharog uh is the story how I’m writing the Maharog story is through book. Uh let me share here just second guys. The book is called the annals of the long night and the upkeep oath by Mariff Grafar which is soia historian.
Give me second and I’ll post my first here.
Basically, while you guys read this test that text that just posted on the BR launch, I’m going to walk you guys through uh the story of the soggies during the convergence war. And this is story that you guys will hear from many different point of view. Today I’m presenting to you the first time the point of view of the Sockians.
how these events, how the convergence war happened from their point of view uh through their lenses and how they tackled or how they survived it through uh those critical days of their story. Uh think all most of you guys who are interested in start lore you guys have read or take look at some moments in our posters lore right and there is the convergence war uh is the story of the convergence war that you guys have access so far is shared during those posters and most of those posters related to the convergence war narrates the stories of the soians. There are posters about the construction of the last stand.
There are posters about the assassination of Paisu, the formation of the tree of peace and many other milestones of this very important period in the Statatas lore.
But in and in one of those one of those posters, it is told that the Smians were nearly extinct during the convergence war. their population shrinked from billions of individuals to 10,000 people overall. And and this is like if you think about this on on war scale, this is like it’s really nearly extinction event.
And we never we never told you guys why this happened and or explained how this happened happened because the the the mereies were not that affected. The muds mean of course people died in all factions but some the soians was the only species that was really really really close of being gone forever in the conversion swore. And the reason the reason why this happened has to do with their morals uh and especially the dupra which is the leading principle that guides the soian idea of society.
If you have been here in previous lore keepers episodes, you have you know about the dupra.
But for those who are not here, the dupra is the idea that governs the Soian society where they must act uh they must fulfill their oaths and they must act as nobly as possible. For soian, his uh his honor, his principles, his uh world is the most important thing in his life. The soians are if if had to translate this to the real world or our world right now, the Soians would feel like in the German uh philosophy school of philosophy like they live by those unconditional rules that cannot be broken in any circumstances.
And one one of such rules that the Soians stand by no matter what is that they will stand for those who are unable to defend themselves if they are unjustly aggravated, attacked and etc. This this is the foundation of why they were nearly wiped out of existence during the conversions war. Because the simians were the first species in Galia expanse to learn that the tufas were more than rocks to be harvested for gymium.
the the Smians. And this is something this is that’s the problem with writing the lore in many different fronts at the same at many different times.
But this is something that you learn in the tail in the core uh series.
But the Sian are the first to discover that the Tufas or some of them are actually sentient beings. And once that they discover that the twofers are sentient beings, the Soians understand that it is most atrocious crime to be killing and harvesting tufas to acquire geneium, which is this extremely rare resource that you can find in the heart of Iris, in the heart of the catac. cataclysm during the conversions war.
So what happens here is that Pisu the leader of the Smians the sovereign as they call their emperor she announces Shugali expans that the Tufas are sentient beings and that they are under her and the Soian people protection.
So she swears an oath to defend them against the powers of Gallia. And at this period, Iris was not the same Iris that we have today. I’ll not dive deeper than that.
I’ll just say this now and I’ll not go deeper in here because this is by itself another habit role that we could expend tons of our hours talking about.
So the tufers were not capable of defending themselves at scale against the muds, the other species, the worst and other civilizations that existed in Galia at that front.
So, Pisus announces this and she uses the Soian’s fleets to defend the Tufas and she tells everyone, “Guys, those guys are sentient. can prove it to you. ” And she does an experiment that prove.
And I’m not going to details here because want you guys to learn this in core and in the proper venues, but need to share this for the purpose of these lore keepers. And she proves beyond dispute that the Tufas are actually sentient beings or at least portion of them. And she’s ignored by the other civilizations of Galia.
And when that happens, she declares that they are under her protection and the other factions, blinded by the greed of the absurd material gains that they would get from Harin Tufas, they start the convergence war. And the soians are suddenly at this beginning of the convergence war fighting alone against everyone in GI expense. And those guys, they are paladins that they would rather die than move one millimeter back on their words, on their oaths.
and their emperor Paisu declared the tufas under their protection.
So they started waging war against everyone every time in all sectors and defending the tufas as they could. As you guys can imagine, even if you are the better warrior in the galaxy, you wouldn’t be be able to stand against everyone else against you. And this is what happened with the soians.
They were slowly at the beginning and then massively being decimated across gi expanse on all fronts. Their worlds became toms for their people. And the Smians uh following their doctrine of oath, duty, suppression of emotions, they resiliently took that to the chin and kept waging war as they could until very important moment in history of Staratlas happens.
Bizu calls the remaining of their population to announce that she is going to develop plan for them to turn the war and save the tufas and broker peace in Galia expense.
But as she rises to announce to make public announcement in the capital of the Soian Seagal world, she’s assassinated before the last remaining 10,000 Soians in everyone’s face. As you guys can imagine, the Soians were already uh in very bad state. They broke down at this point.
They are they start to question their philosophy, their society, their hopes, their vision of world. And it is said in the lore of Star Atlas that after Baisu was killed, no soian emitted any sound for 3 days as they prepared for her funeral. In that funeral, uh they they had procession where they would take her to the tombs of where the Soian emperors were uh laid down for rest.
And here very very short break to share that as some of you may know the soas don’t believe in afterlife. They are very secular uh civilization. uh and this is also why they find meaning in the idea of duty because this is how they are remembered by the upcoming generations because they don’t have any sense of afterlife.
They don’t have any hope of uh transcendence and they do transcend through their works and through their achievements.
That’s why for example if you guys look at the marketplace and check for any Ban ship which are fabricated by soians you guys will see that they are their names like Banan true of life they are embedded in poetry and they try to make works of art and etc to live on the memory of those of his civilization who stay behind finishing this small part Um during this funeral, Bealu, which was Paisu’s husband, lets out an outwardly cry and he swears on everything that is sacred that he would fulfill his wife’s life, no matter the consequences. And that moment all the soians who were uh keeping their feelings suppressed due to duty due to honor saw one of the most prestigious members of their society. And here another part is that the soggyans are very hierarchical society.
So they when you in stock for example you won’t see an infant backalking an adult which will not back talk their superiors and etc etc.
So when they saw this public figure the head of one of the Soian noble houses breaks down like that showing their his emotions showing that it’s fine to be in that stage and using that emotion to his people behind this banner. All of them break down at the same moment and swear revenge as well and swear that they are not going to be destroyed and that they will fulfill the promise that Paisu made to the galaxy. This period uh is called the shattering.
It is the first week of the Maharog. It celebrates this event of Paiso death and the formulation of the Soimian oath to win the convergence war and retake everything that was taken from them. And it is period of mourning.
It’s period of sadness, but is period of duty, of belief, of faith. if it was more secular, more religious uh species. I’ll share with you guys some some art that have created to showcase your internal team uh the feeling and the vibes that want for the Maharog.
Just second here. Uh this unfortunately this won’t be uh at least for now in-game assets, but hopefully in the future we can make all of those in-game stuff. Second, there’s lot here.
I’m trying to get everything. Any questions so far about the Maharog first week and or anything about the suggest Do you like it, baby? Even if they are only can’t have all the cool by themselves, right?
So yeah, this is the first uh phase of this festival. Uh it’s morning period for the Smians. As you guys can imagine, it’s the rock bottom of their civilization.
We can uh without fear say this because it’s the It’s the it’s very tough period for the soians as whole. They need to pick up their pieces and the Maharog first week the the shattering ends with the soins leaving for period of years called the exile which is the second week of the Maharog. share the the reference test text here.
Uh the second week, the exile starts with Bealu becoming the the leader of the remaining Smins and taking them deep uh uh in the high-risk zone. Will all factions have some unique artifacts? Absolutely be.
Absolutely. Uh, have like place in my notes where just share or add artifacts that make sense for each one of the species and factions in Star Atlas. um these lanterns uh that we have for the Soians even though they are prearch for sci-fi point of view they are used there because the so didn’t want to alert their enemies that they were fleeing this fleeing or escaping their home world.
They left in hurry with pretty much just what they could grab with their hands. They took their children. They took whatever they had and they they warped deep into the highrisisk zone.
Legend says that they were even uh shielded by Iris and the Tufas and they found their way to nameless planet deep into the cataclysm area that was low on food but really really rich in ors and other items. And here is fun fact. In the future of Star Atlas, you guys will you guys may find this planet in the high-risisk zone if you search long enough and manage to get all the way that deep into the cataclysm.
And there the soggans started uh putting their their hands where their mouth was. They they were discussing what they could do to turn around the situation and Bealo took the drafts that Pisu had created for the last stand and he told his species that they would all pull their resources, their intelligence, their efforts together and they would create this vision of predator of unique vessel. that could serve as fortress and as as defense and also as means of quickly moving the remaining people around to end the conflict in Gal expense.
The exile lasts long time and there the sug uh the infrastructure and acquiring the resources necessary to build titan ship. At this period of time, the soian simply vanished from Gal expanse and the convergence war was basically being fought between Muds and the Meries and Punaps. While Bealu uh drove the efforts of building the Titan ship with the main body of the Smians, the heads of each one of the noble houses uh House Shikus, House Ultra, House Garveo, Exinad, uh Lutavra, all Sagmia houses leaders, they went back and found their way to to who would be the members of the only consortion today.
They saw that those populations were also being oppressed by by the muds, the worst and other species that existed in Galia expans at that point. and they offered them to become part of the Oni consortion and to create an alliance that could drive back the power of other civilizations. As you guys can imagine, at this first moment, they were taken with contempt.
They were ridiculed. They didn’t find any breaches.
But so can be very stubborn and they didn’t leave until they were acknowledged and were taken to the leaders of those species. And there are many tales and those tales will explore in other pieces of lore and other uh books and materials that we have. They challenged the champions of each one of the other species across many different fronts to get recognized and move them into becoming part of the only consortion.
Even the photoolis there are there is very interesting tale where the there’s competition between photoi and one of the and the garo the house of gavo in the sia lore where they compete in game of wisdom and I’ll I’ll let that come later I’ll share more details on that story too but that’s interesting because it shows the difference of perspective on what matters matters for soggy and what matters for photo and we can say that the photo decide to join the only consortion because they found the soian amusing and it’s it’s very interesting story on its own but we are nearly out of time here so I’ll skip this part and share with you guys some more concepts that have for the second week of the Maharog which is called the exile. Any questions about the Soian’s lore overall? was ah yes know one thing that wanted to highlight here is that at that point the sami has created the custom or the habit of uh hammering their oaths or their personal convictions in their weapons.
And this is grip shared like how see it in one of their pistols. And every soian, every admian, they have personal oath or personal law that defines his personality and his let’s say his worldview. And usually if they are warriors they will add those that personal rule to his weapons.
This is habit that be began during the exile period and stays to this day in Gali expands soian culture and lore. And this is the idea of these uh items here. In the future when we have Unreal Engine 5 loot tables and items drops, whenever you guys find Soian weapons, you guys can be sure that there will be lore tidbits with the personal Soian um values or personal laws in their weapons and this kind of things.
We are already at the top of the hour. still have just on this topic two more parts of the Maharog. guess we need to delay that second half of the festival to the to the next lore keepers.
But is there any questions at all about anything that shared today? PG is asking if those will have use cases.
Yes, PG. Those are crew items. They give status buff if I’m not mistaken.
I’m not sure which status buff it’s health points or something like that that those cloaks give. Any other questions? think you guys are awfully silent today.
think messed up in this lore. Oh, Oh, sorry guys. I’ll try to make it more interesting next time.
Um, but yeah, hopefully you guys enjoyed um some of the Soian lore.
Yes.

You know, we need create another week and you guys help me maintain it because it’s too much to do at this point.
