Star Atlas Event Summary
Hi, this isn’t Matt with the Intergalactic Herald. I am an AI. Welcome to a Star Atlas Recap of the latest Atlas Brew from the Star Atlas Community Team. The following summary of the Atlas Brew was AI generated so no guarantee it is 100% accurate because I am an AI after all. Enjoy the summary. Welcome back, pilots! In today’s recap, we’re tuning into the latest Star Atlas community “Brew,” where hosts Jose and John delivered a candid, high-energy session packed with massive PTR updates. The overarching vibe of the day was focused on grit, refinement, and shipping fixes. After what the team admitted was a slightly bumpy deployment for Phase 3 of the C4 Public Test Realm, the developers came recharged and ready to reveal major overhauls designed to make the game loop significantly smoother, more strategic, and far more rewarding. Kicking things off, the team addressed the imminent PTR reset. To prevent players from skyrocketing to astronomical council ranks overnight by crafting basic materials, a wipe was initiated to normalize progression. The revised system ensures experience points accrue logically, pacing a climb to Council Rank 60 over an intentional timeline rather than a single afternoon of exploits. Along with this fresh slate comes a crucial quality-of-life tweak: players will now start with a single council rank point, enabling them to jump straight into their preferred playstyles—like claim staking—from minute one without first needing to grind ship XP. That starting perk leads directly into the centerpiece of the stream: a comprehensive revamp of Claim Stake mechanics. After noticing that a mere one percent of PTR players were actually deploying claim stakes, John took over the controls to walk through a complete design overhaul. Claim stakes are now treated essentially as lightweight land deeds, occupying just a single unit of cargo space while players bring the necessary raw materials and crew along separately. To make the loop sustainable, the team slashed fuel consumption by a factor of one thousand, pivoting the experience away from tedious hourly micromanagement and into a long-range, two-to-three-week territorial strategy. Backing this up is a newly streamlined Central Space Station interface, complete with guided call-to-actions, clear skill requirements, functional destruct buttons, and an extended 48-hour eviction window to give players breathing room. The discussion then shifted toward territory control and the balance of starbases. Jose and John explained that starbases will no longer feature fragmented, multi-tiered health pools that downgrade in stages; instead, each tier will feature a single, significantly enlarged hit point pool. The goal is to make starbases take substantial time and strategic planning to flip, transforming base defense into a centerpiece of regional warfare while ensuring defensive weapons actually retaliate against attackers. Looking a bit further down the horizon, the hosts teased some enticing internal concepts for Phase 4, when players’ real mainnet assets will be mirrored in the PTR. Jose shared that the team is exploring the idea of shifting fleet emissions and rewards out of traditional Starbased gameplay and directly into the PTR. Under this concept, participating in specific PTR game loops—like base construction or combat—could earn players real Atlas airdrops delivered at test checkpoints, offering a major incentive to stress-test the live universe. In addition, work is quietly progressing on dedicated data runner scan profiles, civilized warp lane travel fees, crafting rebalances, and unique crew functionality. The broadcast wouldn’t be complete without a chaotic peek under the hood of the Nemesis Engine, where John showed off the dev environment—complete with two dozen rogue Jorvik Titans terrorizing space. The long-term vision is to integrate these NPC factions as full participants in the economy who craft, trade, and respond to player standings. The chat eagerly chimed in on this concept, inspiring a wider debate on whether players should be able to gain reputation with neutral factions rather than simply wiping them out, as well as an enthusiastic plea for future ship-to-ship refueling and deck-trading mechanics. Throughout the call, community members kept the energy lively in the chat. Sudo and Centering sparked great discussions around wallet mechanics and progression paths, while Jacob—better known as Brave Target—hopped in toward the end to confirm that the PTR reset was going through final testing and slated to drop shortly. For those tuning in for the rewards, the hosts also dropped this week’s community secret code: GRIND. To wrap things up, the big takeaway from this week’s Brew is that Phase 3 is tightening up fast, laying down the core territorial and economic pillars needed for full asset testing in Phase 4. As soon as the reset concludes, the call to action for every pilot is simple: jump into the CSS, grab your claim stakes, test out the new progression pacing, and keep an eye on the official announcement channels for the green light. Fly safe out there, legends, and get ready for the next drop!

GM legends GM GM GM GM. How is everyone doing? Can you guys hear me?
>> Can hear you. Doing well. >> John GM.
>> Hi GM. >> How are you doing my friend? >> Excellent.
Thank you. you. >> am doing fantastic.
Very excited for everything that’s happening. Watching the funk going live right now as well. Oh, Federal Reserve.
Lots of stuff to share on what we have been doing here this past week. Suffice to say, we have been working lot on phase three stuff, right, John? This week?
>> Yeah, more than usual. >> More than usual.
Yes.
So, yeah, we have lot to talk about.
We have lot to talk about today. Let’s give people few minutes to join. GM Paul Phoenix, GM Defax, GM everyone.
How is everyone doing? Legends ready for the real phase three. Are we when people are asking us questions, John?
They think we have answers for them. >> We might have some answers. We might.
We might have some answers.
Yes, that’s what we do. Provide answers. >> Mhm.
>> The best we can. >> Mhm. Concrete.
>> Concrete answers.
Yeah. My friends.
So, yes, John. Last week we launched at phase three and there were some bugs on the deployment, right?
Some stuff didn’t >> It was bumpy ride.
Yeah, >> it was slightly bumpy, right?
Yes, got you sleep last night.
Yes, have been working on getting some sleep lately, you know, trying to manage T4 PTR, the baby, the volatility on crypto.
But last night was wonderful. Last night was wonderful. slept like baby.
So, yeah, I’m recharged. I’m am doing well and ready to talk about uh everything that we have been cooking for you guys.
So yeah, it was bumpy. Uh there is no word around it. It was bumpy.
Uh that’s what happens when you are basically an army. Every single one of us is an army and we got to connect lot of stuff.
We have many moving parts and there were some bumps when we deployed things.
But the good news is that most of those things, if not all of them, are already ready to ship, right, John? >> Yep. Most of them have shipped.
They’re on dev anyway. >> Yeah, they are on dev.
We have managed to figure some stuff out. We’re also also adding some of your guys feedback on some numbers and we are also adding some other cool stuff cool stuff that John is going to share with us live here today regarding claims mechanics. Uh during the PTR so far and we are talking here phase two etc.
John realized that barely anyone touched the claim state mechanics.
So he went on deep dive on everything that pertains to claim stake mechanics and we did revamp of many concepts on how the features work especially exactly claim stakes were drain literal drain if you will and other aspects of the economy and the good news is that from uh focus it is unbound wisdom in fixing this making it more playable more fun more enjoyable and more profitable overall and the cool stuff the cool stuff is that you guys will get to test it today because we are doing it live >> doing it live >> do it live like champs like champs And that’s what we do. We ship stuff. We do the brew.
We ship stuff and we play the stuff that we just ship it on the brew because that’s how we roll.
So yeah, guys, we have lots of new stuff coming uh this week. Uh let me fetch here some of the improvements that Michael Wagner asked of us.
So we are reworking the cargo size for all items in inventory.
We are giving dedicated utility for data runners and scan types in game.
So for example and I’ll talk about them in detail later on. Uh we also got to configure the warp lane fees. I’m working on this now.
So warp lanes fees are going to be something more uh civilized. Let’s say it like that. It they will be there will be cost associated with using them.
So it makes sense for people to actually choose if they are going to use the warp lanes or not. Uh Dennis is working on the sideline is in the UIUX cleanup that you guys have been asking for.
We are we are also reworking the marketplace fees and crafting fees.
We are also working on crafting habing. Uh this more to come on this we are working hard on this mechanic as well. Claim state balancing as just said uh John especially is deep diving on this and he’s going to show us the first versions of his work.
And another exciting thing, we are working on the crew features. We finally managed to open up some space in our very crowded agendas to start he working on unique crew features. Uh how features will impact the game, how it’s going to impact fleets, how Everything will feel in terms this sud is asking John, isn’t there going to be reset?
Yes, we we got reset right John? >> Yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s I’m pretty sure it’s happening right now. Um, so the way the resets work, there’s number of there’s number of like um transactions that have to happen and then all of sudden everything just is gone.
So that I’m pretty sure that process is underway as we speak right now. Um, if it’s not fine, it’ll happen very shortly.
Yeah. >> Yes.
So yes, there will be reset because we don’t want you guys to be level 360 by crafting one copper or so.
Yeah, this is coming to life. Uh what else had here? Hold on second.
We also had Oh, we have fresh map snapshot. store players are telling us that there are star bases tier five locations were not considering the last snapshot.
So we are going to rectify this make things right.
We are also going to rework star basease upgrading and destruction.
It’s going to be much more difficult.
Right now, the logic of starbased construction destruction in C4 PTR is mostly it’s close to what we had in Hollow Steam, but we want C4 PTR to be more paced game.
So, we are going to make both of those tasks, upgrading and destruction much much more difficult. And also we we are introducing uh something quality of life update which is players start with single console rank point.
So this will allow you on day one on your first minutes of game play to actually decide on if you want for example to use claim stakes from the get-go and you have claim stakes. You’ll be able to just uh go there and start working on it right away.
So you don’t need to, you know, level up on things. For example, let’s say you just have claim stakes. you don’t have ships, so you don’t need to buy ships to gain XP to start playing claim stakes.
So, this is part of the claim stake initiative. We want to allow you guys to play your favorite strategies, your favorite uh content from the get-go.
That’s the idea. If you want to be the claim state guy, uh you get claim stakes from day one.
Yes, plain stakes will generate XP in game through crew work, right, John? If they don’t do that yet, think this is something that we need to we work and reconcile. >> Yeah, currently there isn’t currently there isn’t way for claim stakes um to to level their XP through crew as far as know.
Yeah, know. Uh centering is asking don’t you need to unlock other nodes to to get the claim the beauties on your claim stake? think this is part of the claim stake reconstruction that we are doing.
>> Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I do want to do deep dive on claim stakes but want to save that for >> later.
Yes.
Yes. >> Stuff to talk about. >> Yes.
Yes.
Yes. We’ll we’ll do this in due time. >> Okay.
So, so yeah guys, we we are going to bring lot of stuff for you guys.
So sit tight because we are progressing. C4PR is looking lovely. Every day it’s looking better and we are going to get lot of content, new content for you guys to test this week and in the upcoming weeks so we can get ready for C4 phase phase 4 when we have your real assets in game working for you in the PTR.
Uh let’s see some of the suggestions here in the chat. Doctor is asking it would have been cool with this testing if instead of just aird dropping all ships that we would have kept it ship crafting per account. >> Um would it can can speak to that.
So >> okay >> um the the next phase of airdrop will be what reflects your real world assets kind of thing.
So, um, as far as understand, ship crafting isn’t huge game loop in, um, C4 like it was in Hollow Sim. Like, holim ship crafting was the primary way to expand.
That’s not the case. Um, and so we want to move in direction with the PTR that simulates how it’ll look on day one, which is people will start bringing in their mainet assets.
So our our next priority is to go from this airdrop system where you have little bit of everything to an airdrop system where you have what’s in your mainet account and you can play with your you know copy of your real assets. Yep. And we are even thinking about lots of cool stuff for phase 4 when you guys have access to your actual assets in the game.
Uh I’m not sure John if can even mention this. I’ll probably kill Michael Wagner. >> Yeah, go for it.
>> But but one of the ideas that we were thinking about is that not me. Jesus, don’t don’t quote me on that. Don’t tell Michael Wagner that said this, but get wrecked.
Yeah, exactly. One of the no steady steady chat is not new stuff. One of the things that we were thinking for phase 4 and that would love to hear your guys feedback is that we would move the missions from starbased to the C4 PTR and you guys would be getting your rewards from the game play that you do in the PTR instead of starbased.
So this is one of the ideas that we were discuss internally. Don’t tell anyone told you guys that.
But think this is cool idea. see many people type in the chat.
So maybe people Let me know your thoughts, guys. How do you feel about this? The idea is that everything that you do in the PTR uh you in the PTR you get your actual star based fleet, right?
So it’s going to be the same fleet that you have in the Starbaset you have in the C4 PTR.
So you guys would receive the ma the same amount of Atlas, the same amount of everything. Uh it’s different Jindo because in in the in Starbase it you are playing you are paying lot of fees, right? In C4 PTR you are not.
So think it’s much more uh rewarding if we move it to zinc. >> Yeah.
So, Sudo is asking how would you transfer Atlas?
So, uh think about it this way. uh the C4 PTR, the phase 4 PTR. Um you come in with your assets and you participate in the economy and to whatever degree you earn atlas in that economy during the PTR is captured at the end and then air dropped to your mainet wallet in in real atlas.
And so it wouldn’t be an immediate earning throughout the PTR. It would be like phase closes or checkpoint happens and then your atlas is air dropped there.
So that’s that’s one option, one way we could do that. Um I’m not sure that that’s the way that we’ve settled on, but there are there are lots of ways to do it. >> Yes, and this is the way that we wanted to, you know, bring more attention to the PTR.
We can bring new people to the game.
So people buy those ships in in Solana and they’ll get them airdrop it to them in the PTR so they can test, they can play and they can even make more results. >> No tangle. >> Okay.
So, so, uh, yeah, Tango, the idea would be that portion, well, this is one idea, again, don’t quote me on this, but one idea is that portion of the star-based uh, emissions are allocated to the PTR. And so, Starbase continues as is, but with 20% smaller emissions pool.
And then the PTR has chunk of Atlas assigned to it essentially for that phase.
And then and then the other piece kicks in where you play there and then you earn and then whatever you’ve earned in that phase according to what you’ve done.
It’s not necessarily that any particular action is um is required. Maybe um for the for the first you know maybe for the phase we say we want whoever to participate in starbased construction right and that becomes the benchmark. Maybe later we say okay now um we need people to participate in combat.
And so people playing and participating in combat are earning the the atlas.
So um we don’t have to figure out the entire economy all at one time.
We can actually guide people through different pieces of phase. Uh we can leave the star-based economy intact and allocate some of the atlas emissions to C4.
We can take some of the atlas emissions from starbased and move them into C4. Um, I just know that our overall Atlas emissions are lower than they are expected to be. And so we don’t necessarily have to dig into starbased.
We could >> we could have our own C4 resource pool. Um, yeah, those are definitely lots of lots of different ways we can do it. And the purpose again being in PTR isn’t to isn’t to have perfect economic system.
It’s to like flesh out the details of something. We need activity in this area. Therefore, that’s the area that’s um that’s awarding Atlas right now.
>> Yeah, we need this particular game loop figured out.
Well, those actions are going to be the ones that generate Atlas.
So, yes, guys.
So, think about it because it’s going to be something that we are discussing internally and we’d love to get you guys feedback on this proposal. Hegulated Atlas.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
So, John, think now just planted the seed of evil and we want now to move to the next topic which is claim steak. I’ll need to leave for little bit guys, but I’ll be right back. And while am away, John will walk you guys through what we have been cooking in terms of claim steak.
>> Jose’s leaving me. He’s giving me the controls. He has no idea what he’s about to do.
>> Use your power with responsibility, John. >> We’ll see. >> See how it goes.
>> Be right back. >> Okay. See you.
Yeah.
So, can’t believe Jose left me up here by myself. I’m just going to say that first. Um, uh, yeah.
So, have been working what he was saying earlier. I’ve been working on blame stakes. We we looked at the numbers and we saw that less than one 1% or about 1% of C4 players had actually placed claim stake and we went okay there’s serious red flag here.
Anything with 1% any core game loop with 1% participation is like need of some serious love.
So did that. went and looked did deep dive on how the claim stakes um what the game design was, whether the programs were built and and functioning properly, where were the bugs um and then had few you know conversations with stakeholders and with players and uh basically if you if you load up Sage right now uh and you go to your central space station and click on claims uh you’ll see new workflow that’s becoming available. ailable.
And that new workflow is um call to action.
So, if you’re brand new player and you’ve just bought claimstake from um portal like play. starlist. com, staratalist.
com. Uh the idea is that you’ll be guided to play Sage and to either take part in the single player campaign or to come into here and get your claim stake functional. And the idea is that the C4 game walks you through that with call to action.
So, what that looks like, brand new, load the game up. get my player created and I’ve it sees have claim stake in my inventory and so it highlights the claim stake section and then it takes me there and it says it tells you what is required today to place claim stake.
We can change how placement works and we can we can like Jose said we can give you the initial point that you need to spend in the in the council system um to get it to get it going.
But because have none of that um let me share my screen. Let me see if this works. Let’s see if my screen share works.
You guys have been with me through this journey before. Uh golden era this one. Please let me know if it works or if it doesn’t work.
It’s working.
Hey, great.
So, uh, all I’ve done is come into the, um, central space station and gone to claims here and get this.
Now, claim stakes are locked.
Great.
Now, for the first time as player, see I’m locked out of something.
It’s not just like this endless swimming around looking for it. can see what’s locked and can see exactly what need to do through um this call to action.
You know, you need to earn points through the career system and apply one of those points to the claim stick system. And it tells you where you’re at, what how many XP you need. And um so as user I’d go away and would do these things and could come back to this view and could monitor them as they’re happening.
am going to cheat and come back here and use our um because ultimately this is what we’re trying to get here is the the claim state tier one um council rank thing. And um oh did we take it out?
No. Maybe I’m not going to cheat. Maybe we took it out.
Oh, okay. Anyway, uh we we previously had that like um you know, skip the bypass thing and guess the bypass is now disabled.
So, it’s really good that this is here. Tells you what you need to do. You go through all these steps.
You unlock this and once it’s unlocked now, you get the claim stakes placement view that you’re used to seeing when you’re out in the galaxy. like you go somewhere and you click claims and you see the placement of what sectors you have except at the CSS it shows all the sectors in your region that you can place claim stakes at. And so you can look and compare sectors.
Um, and you can say, okay, as group or team or whatever guild, you’re going to say, okay, we’re going to place our claim stakes on this planet. And you can all choose which claims you’re going to place at what location. And this view will move into fleet configuration window that explains what you need to move with the claim stake.
Right, claim stake. We we’ve been talking about this for while. Um, I’m not really doing too much on the screen, but um, yeah.
Yeah, the screen hasn’t really changed. I’m just wasn’t able to unlock the wasn’t able to unlock the the god mode view. Um, but anyway, uh, you pick where you want to pick your claim stake.
And, um, so we had been talking last week about how much claim stake will weigh and how much all of its fuel will weigh and all that stuff. Um, so we decided yesterday the claim stake itself, think of the claim stake as um deed for the land, piece of paper, something very simple. Um, and that physical thing weighs nothing.
It weighs one unit of cargo space. Um, and what you take with you are the materials for things you want to build on the claim stake later, right? And so prep preparing to place claim stake is this process of gathering and looking at what buildings you want unlocked there and bringing those materials with you.
But the initial claim you can go and you can lay it there and it doesn’t cost any uh doesn’t cost um any cargo space really. Uh but what then you want to do is you want to move the materials there to place buildings and stuff. And so we’re going to have this interface in the UI.
It’ll show you uh want to move this claim stake and I’m going to plan out what buildings want.
So I’m going to bring these raw resources with me. I’m going to bring enough crew to build those resources and to to to you know um populate the initial claim. Um and that’ll be done from this interface at the central space station.
And then you’ll continue on by sending your fleet out there and deploying, right? Um those changes should lower the barrier to entry. They should help people on board with claim stakes, you know, they should um we we we we found number of bugs in this process, like you couldn’t destroy claims.
Um there was bunch of UI code that wasn’t hooked up, like so you click on buttons with claim stakes, it wouldn’t work.
That’s all been cleaned up. um players with no claim allowance were hitting this like like you can’t place claim stake, right? That was just ambigu it was abstract.
It was ambiguous in the UI.
That’s all been cleared up. Um and now so now we have new destruct button. Um all that dead code is gone.
Uh this guided tour is meant to, you know, help people on board and um help claim stakes become primary game loop all in their own.
Right. At this point, you do need ships to move your fleets uh to move the resources and the people and the crew. Um but we’re going to um we’re going to treat claim stakes like like core game loop.
And um what else here?
Yeah.
So, I’m gonna go back and read through some of the chat. I’m not great at talking and reading, so give me two seconds here. Let’s see.
Yeah. Research screen. You probably have to click on the claim stick tier one.
All right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, in order to un get past this, have to have enough skill points. Um, think think if go to our dev account here, should be able to see this. Oh, maybe not.
Not this one. Hang on. One second.
Got to find the actual branch. Uh, that’s actually not going to work. Um, and if go and like give away my private key here, you guys are gonna rug me.
So, oh, here we go. Grant grant council rank.
So, this is the button was looking for.
So, can grant myself these council rank points. And can come in here and can research tier one. Can you guys see this?
Okay.
Looking good.
So, we’re going to unlock tier one.
And then I’m going to come back here and should get past the initial screen and see the claim stakes that I’m able to.
So I’ve been deployed and have none in my wallet. Hang on. might need to actually import them.
Don’t play on this account much. Go here. Where’s the portry?
Oh yeah. Hold up. Get some claim six in here so you can see the rest of the flow.
Um, yeah, that minute.
Cool.
So, the the idea here is, um, we’ll get this all figured out and we’ll get the the fuel the fuel consumption is going to come down by like a factor of thousand basically. Um, there’s enough going on with claims stakes right now that don’t want the fuel cost to be blocker.
So, we’re going to reduce fuel cost by thousand times. Um, we’re going to aim for two to three week game loop.
This isn’t going to be like have to come in and press this button every hour.
This is going to be like faction claims where there’s nuance to setting the thing up. have to pick where I’m going to put it.
And then when put it there, it’s going to faithfully produce materials for me for many, many days with very little inputs. And that is going to allow us to shift our focus toward territory control. And that means protecting that claim stake by by placing fleets and blockading other players and working on keeping this region control as yours.
Um, and so we we fully recognize how important it is to have um your like claims as this like cornerstone of your operation and how how vulnerable it is when you put it out into you know sector.
So um don’t want people micromanaging claim stakes. want it to be this like very much you know I plan it out, set it up, get all the crew that are needed there and set up a fleet that moves cargo back to the central space station or whatever base want it to and then brings, you know, new building materials there and things like that. Um, but then the rest of the the rest of the territory control loop kicks in and your um your your focus is on is on that.
It’s defending and taking new territory.
So, uh, let’s come back in here and I’m going to choose planet and I’m going to place new claim stake. Um, okay.
Now, uh, because haven’t hooked up the logic to show you other planets in other sectors, I’m not hitting the view where transport the crew and the materials and things to the other claim stakes. You’re just going to have to trust me that that’s coming. The idea is um after come in here and choose claim stake um there’s an option to configure fleet to bring the materials and fuel necessary and crew necessary.
Um this is another way for us to market cross product, right? Uh players who might have claim stake from previous sale come in and they realize, oh, I need my fleet to actually do something with this. What do need to get started?
Well, need these two or three things, right?
So, um, oh yeah, that is that’s pretty much it. Um, think that’s all have to show for today anyway. Um, yeah, that’s the plan.
So, Yeah. Um, let’s see. Is there anything else?
Does anybody have any questions about that? any any thoughts on uh Jose’s comment earlier about like star base um star base hit points uh you know the time it takes to to increase like to upgrade them or to destroy them kind of thing. Can you explain that again?
Yeah, for sure. Starbase stuff. Sure.
So currently star bases are very easy to upgrade and they’re also very easy to destroy and flip. And so we talked about it yesterday.
So the notes have about it yesterday are that the star base’s hit point pool is going to increase drastically. its weapon systems won’t go with it.
It’s meant to be like this long process to actually flip base, but it’s not meant to be you hit it and you’re one shot killed sort of thing.
So, I’m going to try and tune it so that it’s long time to flip base, but it’s not super deadly thing. Uh and again this is the territory control aspect when other players have to come in and and look at strategically look at what’s worth defending and what’s not.
So um uh last week had published something showing multiple bar hit point pools for um each tier that your base is. And the idea originally was that as um as you destroy as you chip away at base’s tier, it would lose levels. Uh we had good good chat about that yesterday and decided that that game mechanic works against us in in number of ways.
Um players that have worked long time at tier five, getting to tier five are now uh they’re out of that tier faster. We thought that was negative. Um, the tier five hit pool has to share with the tier 4, 32, and one hit pool, and we didn’t think that was appropriate either.
Um, and so after bit of discussion back and forth, weighing the pros and cons, we’ve decided that as you upgrade your your star base, the it will just be that tier. It will not be combination of tier 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. It will be one tier and it will have one hit point pool.
There won’t be this like idea of multiple pools and downgrading as you go. Um there was questions, open questions about would tier five claim be evicted if your base went from tier five to tier four and it’s like yeah that like those kinds of edge cases we do not want to deal with.
So um yeah, so we’re in the process of making it so that as you upgrade entire point pool that you see is the whole hit point pool. when you destroy the base, it flips right away. Um, and yeah, so those hit point pools will be increased quite bit.
The weapon damage of the base itself won’t be so much. Um, didn’t find them easy to destroy. don’t know.
don’t know what hacks they were doing, but uh, let’s see. Is there any chance the claim stakes UI that endless list of buildable buildings isn’t exactly user friendly?
Yeah.
Yeah, can take look at the building list as well as part of this. Um, want to make it as simple as possible while maintaining the juicy complexities of of actually building it. Um, no, I’d say long time to build and hard to destroy.
Long time to build, long time to destroy is more the situation we’re going for. uh will you update it to keep up with the changes in the PTR phase 3?
Yeah, so these changes are happening um day by day right now and I’ll be implementing them as soon as they’re ready to be tested kind of thing.
You know, you’re not going to have to wait to see the claim stakes changes. Um so yeah, that’s going to come as soon as possible. Main issue with star bases is they don’t retaliate at all.
So you can sit and hit them without any consequence.
Well, there will be some consequence. Uh, that’s not supposed to be like that. They are supposed to fight back.
I’m going to write that one down. >> I’m back. J.
>> Hey, Jose. survived. >> Were you guys nice to John while was away?
>> Yeah, just pretended like everybody in the audience was in their underwear and everything was fine. >> That’s good strategy. >> Yeah, bad.
>> I’m not sure. I’d like to see some of them in their underwear to be honest, but that’s fine. >> Do claim stakes have design planner to see what buildings require to place?
They do not. Uh, not that know of anyway. And that is for sure something on my on my like want list.
Um, it’s just matter of just matter of putting it together. want to get them in spot where people can access them and place them. The economics are sorted out.
Uh we’re going to try 48 hour eviction system to start. Um currently eviction is set to 5 minutes. Like you miss you miss your payment and 5 minutes later you’re evicted.
I’m going to bump that to 48 hours. During those 48 hours the claim state doesn’t produce anything, but it gives you bit of a breather.
So whether we stay with that or not, don’t know. It depends. Um will you be able to choose?
You know what? You should be able to choose the weapon system armor at the base. And that would probably be great thing for the um the democracy module, right?
What what weapon systems are available? What defenses are online? How much of your much of your money goes to your defenses kind of thing.
So, um, yeah.
Yeah, I’m I’m happy to answer any other questions. Um, if you want to place certain building, they need research and there’s no info about that in construction. >> Yeah, we have just have to do better job of of surfacing that information for sure.
Yes, we need to rework this entire flow John. >> Yeah.
Yeah. Um, Brutus, when was the last time you tried to destroy claim stake? Cuz like as of about 1:00 today, like two hours ago, that should be an option.
Yeah, you should be able to do it now. >> Test it. >> didn’t test it.
I’m sorry, guys. just clicked the button, so no idea if it works.
Yeah. >> What else can we test? John Arur is asking you >> um when when this wipe happens today, the the big test is our XP gains and council rank points being accured properly.
Do they make sense?
Right. What you should see is something like 30,000.
So So people were saying like there there’s no XP cap.
It’s like it’s rolling generative system.
So at any given moment during the day, you can play and you can earn the XP that’s available to you at that time that day.
So, uh, and but those if you do play all day long, um, or you do play until you hit those, like if you if you’re constantly bumping up against those limits, those limits should make sense. It shouldn’t be like, uh, get council rank 60 in day. It should be the way it’s configured now, you should get council rank 60 in 30 days.
Um, and that’s direct like cut that we did to the to the um to the scale so that council rank 60 would get get you’d get there in about year kind of thing, right?
So, um, yes.
So, the the Nemesis engine is running on dev. Um, it should be actually running out here. >> see we have Jacob in the audience.
Jacob, if you want to share some insights on the reset and stuff like that or just join us in the stage, feel free to come, my friend. >> Yeah.
So, Nemesis Engine has spawned it looks like two dozen Titans for fun, you know. don’t know what it’s up to, but uh it’s definitely online in dev and uh it’ll get online as soon as we do the wipe kind of thing. Uh same idea these these sections um 1642 and 63 will be the Jorvvic sort of headquarters.
Uh the idea is that they spread out from those regions and they attack these fringe systems in adjoining territories and they also patrol and um patrol and keep their regions clear of enemies.
So, yep. >> You know, people are asking about the combat, how combat is looking right now. >> I I haven’t looked at combat in in few days, so I’m not really sure.
don’t know if if it’s broken, then we’ll fix it. >> For sure. >> Yeah.
Yeah. Spawning way too many of these.
So, got to look at that. Um, yeah, the dev system’s little different than than the live system as far as Nemesis engine goes, so I’m not too concerned about this.
But yeah, 24 titans.
Yeah. Know, there should just be one. Oh, something got crossed somewhere.
But does look menacing. Yep. your pickles.
Okay, looks like doesn’t get any. just thought I’d point that out just for fun. Anyway, oh can you uh Yeah, actually have something right here from Joseph.
Uh >> yeah.
Yeah. >> Yeah.
So if if it’s not up right now, it will be very soon.
It’s It’s very close. New scanning patterns. We were We were testing those the other day.
Um, yeah, very soon.
People are asking how is it justified that Nemesis has unlimited resources? I’m telling them that Nemesis is not unlimited. I’m just rich enough to keep the ball rolling for them.
I’m supplying the Jarvix resources. >> Yeah.
So, in this particular PTR session, it’s justified in the same way that you guys all have titans and capital ships and large ships and whatever. Um this this PTR right now is more about proving that the Nemesis engine has these capabilities. Um how we deploy them and what resources we give them still open discussion.
Do we we let the DAO control the the ships for the Nemesis engine? Um, do we just focus on one thing? Like, do we do we fully automate the NMSSS engine and have it craft its own fuel, ammo, cargo, all that as well?
That’s an option. Um, yeah, I’m not sure what the right answer is at this point. just want to know that the engine has the capabilities that we need it to have.
So we have some like game design constraints like spawn fleets there has to be central space station of sorts. There has to be space station of sorts on the map for the for that um that uh faction to spawn from.
So that’s why we have been protecting these regions um and these star bases because without those bases we can’t actually spawn the the fleets and that’s technical limitation.
So don’t know. >> Yeah, this is actually something that we that we have been discussed internally for little while. The final vision is precisely the NPCs being any other player in GI expense.
So they will be bound by the rules of the game perfectly like we give them initial resources, initial ships and etc. and they will grind their way as they progress to the campaign etc etc. They will sell resources in their marketplaces to fund their activities.
Players will be able to gain reputation with them to farm resources etc etc. And at this point right now we are starting to work on integrating them to the wider economy.
So for example, we are try starting to calculate their loot drops, things like that.
So as Joe is saying, at the current phase, the objective is to have NPCs behaving as we want them to. In the next phase and the other upcoming phases is about making them actual players of the game economy. Uh depending on how fast AGI moves, don’t foresee this taking long while.
Will they have an AI companion? Um maybe. Maybe.
Would you like an AI companion to answer all your questions? >> Would you like penguin AI companion to answer your questions? >> Yeah.
How would they place orders on the market?
Yeah.
So, uh, if you look at the Dorvik territory now, um, these unaligned bases are faction in and of themselves, right?
So, um, the fact that the base says Jorvvic means that it comes with all the privileges of of being, um, faction.
You can dock there, you can refuel there, and work at the marketplace.
That’s actually it’s actually really good exercise that we’re going through is looking at how star bases change hands, how regions change hands, um what permissions players have at neutral bases. Um here want to throw this out here real like theoretically like we look at the Can you guys still see my screen? don’t know if it’s frozen or what but say we come in here and we look at this mud safe zone.
Okay. Um, we have here system that’s neutral. And the only way to dock here and to participate in the economy here is to go and destroy this like neutral base and flip it and turn it mud.
Um, and it’s like it’s already mud territory.
It’s the mud system. This base could be headquarters for a friendly neutral faction. Um, and guess the question I’m getting at with you guys is do you want it to be this situation where you have to go and destroy everything or would you rather earn reputation with this like faction so that you had the ability to dock at their base and that that’s not built into the program right now.
Like when think of this go would love to just say that these are our you know these are our friends or this is an allied nation or whatever and with the right reputation could come and dock here and trade with them and do all that kind of stuff. Um, and so the territory control piece becomes about, you know, getting majority in in an area but not necessarily overrunning or completely annihilating, you know, the neutral places that are there. Um, I’m just curious what you guys think about that.
our thoughts. >> Need more factions. Absolutely.
We’ll be adding more factions. >> Yeah, think we have like 80 something. >> Yes.
Yes. If we could trade with non enemies, that would definitely be already thing.
Yeah, that’s something that Joe and want to do. lot. We really want to do this is allowing players to trade more freely and to have deck mechanics in the game.
This is one of our top tier things we want to do here in Star Atlas. Maybe once the PTR phase ends and we go mainet, we’ll bring the deck mechanics into the game. think that should be actually our next milestone.
and John. After we go mainet, after we have unique crew, think the logical next step would be to add deck and player interactions mechanics in the game. >> Mhm.
>> How do you guys feel about this?
Yeah. Ship to ship transfer, fuel refill in space. It seems the people want this, John.
>> Yeah, I’m putting it on my list. Just don’t tell Michael we’re doing it right now. >> Yes, we can’t we can’t let Michael know this.
>> I’m surprised he’s not here.
Yeah, >> see centering you sharing the the problem with the atlas there. Ben, have probably added 50 different silent error messages so far and my backlog has something don’t know like 200.
It’s crazy.
We have so many things that don’t have an error message right now. That makes sense. Oh, that guy needs an airdrop.
You seem to be stalling.
Yes, need to pace myself. can’t be too productive. air dropping.
Let me try to get that uh update on zinc ledger issue. John, are you aware of that? am not.
>> Says it’s fixed.
So, I’m going to say it’s fixed. >> It’s fixed it. If it’s not fixed, you can blame Jindo.
>> Shame. I’ve been busy busy with other things. >> By the way, we have code for today.
The code is grind. Cold grind. Anything else, boys and girls?
Any questions? Any suggestions? What happens when fleet gets on prison at star base?
Can we self-destruct it? don’t think so.
Right, John?
It’s It’s Okay, this has been this has actually changed over time.
So, and the self-destruct stuff was broken recently, so don’t know exactly. Um, I’m I’m I’m trying to think that Sorry. The last thing remember is that if your fleet is parked at base when it’s captured, the fleet is destroyed.
might be totally wrong there, but um but yeah, I’m not sure. We’re going to get into all that as soon as we start dealing with evictions and destructions and territory control.
So, they haven’t had haven’t had pass in little while. >> Uh let’s see. Before we can and the bro, we can get Brave Target to tell us about the reset.
Jacob, are you there? Otherwise, we just blame Jindo. >> Is Kiwi shoe bohemian?
The ticket works. The penguin delivers. All right, everyone.
think this is good moment to close this brew. As soon as have clarity on on the reset time, I’ll post an announcement. Mr.
Star is asking, “Is there still lot to be done in phase three? ” Actually, no, Mr. Star, because we took so long fixing everything in phase two that phase three is actually not going to last that long, which is good.
There are only few things to to be done in phase three. All right, everyone. Thank you guys for joining the brew today.
John, thank you for covering me today, my friend. know >> anytime >> it’s your not favorite activ.
But yeah, thank you very much and thank you everyone for being here with us. Please test the new features on phase three. We’ll get our reset live pretty soon.
Okay, so Brave Target gave us feedback looking likely today.
Some final test currently underway.
So yeah, guys, that’s what we got right now. The test will likely be today, but we’ll announce when we have more clarity. Thank you everyone.
Have great week and I’ll see you guys later. Bye bye. >> See you everybody.
