Included updates and fixes //
- Redesigned Command View fleet layout — hostile fleets are now separated into a distinct zone from passive enemy fleets for easier target identification
- Locked loot piles are no longer shown in the Command View — only salvageable loot is displayed
- Fleets exceeding the initial viewport now spread into the zoomable world space instead of clustering
- Player-involved combat events are now highlighted in the tactical feed
- Improved Command View performance when 50+ fleets are present in a sector
- Galaxy map attack flash no longer occasionally covers the entire map
NPC Fleet System Update
We’ve completed a major performance upgrade to the NPC fleet engine.
Before: It was taking about 6 minutes to give orders to 300 NPC fleets — meaning NPCs were slow to react to players mining or moving around the map.
After: The system now handles 500+ NPC fleets with a cycle time of just 73 seconds — roughly 5x faster while managing nearly twice as many fleets. At lower fleet counts like 250, the cycle drops to around 35-40 seconds. All combat-ready NPCs fire simultaneously each cycle, with ready fleets engaging targets every loop.
NPCs now respond to miners faster, switch targets more intelligently when players try to escape to a starbase, and coordinate attacks across multiple sectors simultaneously. The system is stable with zero failures and plenty of headroom to scale further as needed.
All NPC fleets were reset along with these optimizations.
