[00:00:00] Hi, this is Matt with Intergalactic Herald. Welcome to my Starless Week in Review podcast. This is podcast number 89. Any articles or videos mentioned can be found on my website at intergalacticherald. com. Please look for news recap number 138. So just a quick recap or yeah. Recap of a recap? No, sorry, just a quick summary of things I’ll be going over.
[00:00:21] So kind of light on content from the Star Atlas ecosystem metaverse this week but there was an Atlas brew and there was an economic forum. And then I’ll go over kind of my state of Star Atlas thoughts and my journey playing Star Atlas. But before I get to that, just a couple of quick things.
[00:00:37] things about some projects I’m working on. First is my Staros merch store, which is called Intergalactic Gear. It can be found at intergalacticgear. com. It is officially open for business. However, it is only selling mugs and I wish to say it would be selling more soon, but I just can’t find the time.
[00:00:53] So maybe Sunday or maybe tomorrow again, recording this on a Saturday. So we’ll see. It’s always on the to do list, but. Yeah, always something seems to come. But hey, getting my family chores done, we’re transitioning from fall to winter, and don’t have to go mow anymore, and some other fall maintenance stuff.
[00:01:10] So who knows, maybe I’ll get to something. But anyways but if you are interested in some Star Atlas mugs, I do have a few out there, a couple different styles, couple different logos. So again, please check out intergalacticgear. com. Also long term plans, try to get a Star Atlas community going could call it a non guild guild if you want to, but it’s basically a place for Star Atlas guilder, Star Atlas gamers who don’t want to join a guild to hang out.
[00:01:32] It’s called Intergalactic Coalition. My idea is, again, just a place different platform than kind of the chat scrolling chat that Discord is. It’s more about email. Threads you can subscribe to things, get email alerts when there’s new updates, so you can kind of come and go as you want.
[00:01:48] Type of thing. So if that might be a more interesting place for you to hang out and talk to other Stardust gamers, please check it out. Don’t have anything yet cause I need to kind of get enough interest. It is a platform unfortunately it’s not free like discord. So I do have some costs.
[00:02:03] That’s hence why I haven’t really set it up yet, intergalactic coalition. com, you can take a look at some of my intro information there, and there’s an interest survey when I get enough people. Then I’ll start coordinating with them to see if we can get that kind of alternative community up and running.
[00:02:18] So again, that’s intergalacticcoalition. com. Okay, so moving into kind of the Star Atlas content from this week in review. As people have listened before, I usually catch up on all the videos and articles on Friday night, and then I do the podcast recording on Saturday. So anything that comes out late on Friday, don’t get it to it.
[00:02:36] But, nothing came out late on Friday. So the two big things from the Star Atlas team was on Wednesday, there was an Atlas Brew. As they usually do. As they usually do, excuse me. And this was all about the Golden Carnival. So they kind of went over it, talked about it. Now of course, given that this is the weekend, the first round has already occurred.
[00:02:52] So You’d have to enter your tickets for future raffles, but again, they go over all the details some frequently asked questions and things like that. So again, if you’re interested in learning that again, thanks to Star Atlas TV for recording that. And you can find that link on my website, Intergalactic Herald.
[00:03:07] Look for news recap number 138. On Thursday, the monthly economic forum from the Star Atlas econ team I’m not going to say their names because I can’t remember them. Chris Gareth. I’m gonna write this stuff down. I really am. But anyways so they went over a lot of things. Great read or great listen.
[00:03:25] Again, thanks to StartLessTV. Yeah, yeah. I, I didn’t really pay attention. It was late. I had a really hard Friday. Things things didn’t go according to plan. So I was listening way too late at night. So I was trying to multitask and it was, it was just too Yeah, there was just there was a lot there.
[00:03:43] So I know they were talking about local markets again I’m really curious about those because I do think it will change some of the game but again, it was a How should we say it? Heavy, but again only in the sense that it’s great economy stuff But you know, you really need to be in tune with a lot of different things there.
[00:04:03] So Again, I just was multitasking and it Just wasn’t going in my brain. So, great thing, however just don’t try to do it when you’re really tired on a Friday after a long week. So, anyways, but if you’re interested in listening to that replay at your leisure again, a lot of great information. I am, again very thankful that the Econ team is doing this on a monthly basis.
[00:04:23] I think that’s a great community outreach to, you know, people who are really, really interested in Econ. economy of Star Oz to be given a, a weekly, or excuse me, monthly update. So anyway, check that out. So anyway, so again, that was kind of it. The articles there are other videos or articles in my weekly recap or kind of more about golden tickets being announced last week.
[00:04:44] So Metaverse Explorer and Beyond the Horizon did videos there. So you can check out those. So lots of lots of stuff on the golden carnival thing. Oh, one quick aside in case you’re not aware. And I kind of. Snuck up on me. They’ve been mentioning that they’re going to close out the Never Alone campaign, which is used through the Zilli platform a few new, new quests, I guess, I think they’re called quests.
[00:05:04] Anyways, they were created and some of the related to the Oh, I guess there was, I apologize. On Friday, there was a, and there will be always a Star Atlas Live watch party, I guess. I’m not sure what they call it, but I’m just going to call it a watch party to watch the results of the ticket drawings for the raffle come through.
[00:05:22] So, kind of a live, yeah, we call it a watch party. They might have a different term for it. So I think there they announced some of the quests for the Zilli campaign for the Never Alone campaign. So might want to re watch that if you, well actually, hmm, did Starless TV record that? I don’t know. Hmm.
[00:05:42] I’m usually, I’m pretty good about, well, I’m not sure maybe they did. And I just, again, was tired. I don’t know. Well, anyways, go to start us TV on YouTube. And if it’s there, it’s there anyways. If you are doing the never alone campaign, you might want to check those out. I think one of the quests was for retweeting something and things like that.
[00:05:58] So they did mention at the Atlas brew, they are definitely going to wrap that up looking to get the right internal resources and no though, again, never. No promises for sure, but it sounds like that’s a thing that will be wrapped up by the end of the year. So if you’re interested and have been playing around, maybe time to get back in and get those last quests for some points.
[00:06:19] So anyway, so I guess it was a third for third thing that happened. I just either didn’t get the video or yeah, I don’t know. Sorry. Maybe I missed the video. Or again, it was already over. So I didn’t, it wasn’t Content information to watch. So anyways so moving on to my two kind of personal segments.
[00:06:36] One is again, the state of art star star Alice. So the big thing of the last week, obviously it was a golden carnival with the golden tickets. Some of the economics behind the golden tickets was mentioned at the economic forum again. Wasn’t paying attention, sorry. But you can kind of learn more about that.
[00:06:53] Again, there was a watch party and the kind of updates and frequently asked questions at Lewis Bruce. So Overall, even though I think I may have mentioned somewhere that definitely the Golden Carnival is a repeat. One thing that I think, and again, I know we can’t hold the team to these kind of things, but they were talking about this being an annual event.
[00:07:10] And actually, I, that kind of puts it in a different perspective than me because part of it I was thinking like, oh great, we’re doing something we’ve already done before. And again, it’s not gameplay per se. It’s a game, sure, but it’s not like I’m not using my ships, you know, things like that. But they talked about maybe as an annual event.
[00:07:29] And in that sense, I think that’s a really great community outreach type of thing for the people that enjoy it. I know Metaverse Explorer is pretty vocal on his thing about, well, he does gambling and he doesn’t like gambling, which is fine. You know, it, it definitely is. But as far as a community event, I think it does I think it does have a place.
[00:07:46] And again, there is you know, I didn’t listen. There is an economic benefit of having people craft from resources within Sage. Again, I didn’t pay attention, so I’m sure it was explained on why it’s a benefit. But again, I think it’s great. Personally, I decided I’m going to probably participate with just a small amount only because I guess, you know, same reason why when the.
[00:08:10] Lotto, Powerball gets to a billion, you buy a couple tickets because it just gives you a chance to dream for a couple, a couple minutes, though you know the odds aren’t against, or totally against you. So, but this again is much more of a thing related to the community, related to the game, things like that.
[00:08:24] So my strategy is very lame I’m just going to buy a hundred tickets, partly because tickets seem really cheap, at least this go around. I think they were, I forget how much that was, but it came up to be like pennies, so I think 100 tickets might have cost me like 1. 40 or something like that when I bought them.
[00:08:44] So I mean, yeah, I mean, that’s technically cheaper than lottery tickets. So anyway, so we’ll see if I keep doing that. Again, part of it is if you’re just going through the motions of putting them in there, it kind of loses a little bit, but we’ll see. Or maybe it’s again on the I think, is it every four weeks?
[00:09:00] There’s a, There’s a mystery one with larger pool or something. So, you know, we’ll just see. Definitely think the live watch party is a great concept for people that are interested. I mean, yeah, you want to do whatever you can to bring together the Star Wars community. So I think that’s great.
[00:09:13] Unfortunately, I think it’s on Friday or in the morning. Yeah, my Fridays are swamped at work. So just not something I’m going to do live. And again, probably if there was a link, I probably didn’t even look at it because it, you know, It’s in the past. So anyways, but again, I think it’s great definitely for certain segments of the community this great awesome And that’s kind of all I had thoughts of this like week and again partly because that’s all we were talking about So, as far as my journey again, if you’ve been following along I have decided to attempt to craft within sage the Mamba X, E X, again, not sure how to say it.
[00:09:50] And heading to first find all the raw materials, so then I can craft those to the components, so then I could have enough to actually craft the ship. Or, excuse me, redeem it. So but, having said all that it was a quiet week because I had just been mining hydrogen, but I have gotten closer to the goal, so I think it’s somewhere around 12 million, or 20, excuse me, excuse me, 25 million hydrogen that are necessary for all the different, resources to craft, and I had just approached, I think, 18 million when I turned off my laptop, which is right next to me, record, and occasionally the fan kicks on, so you can pick it up on the podcast, so hopefully, well, I’ll just restart.
[00:10:24] So yeah, so it’s going pretty smoothly. I did have to restock my, let’s see, it was food and Ammo? Yes, food and ammo. Fuel is barely budging, but I think it’s budging a little bit. So yeah, everything’s going good there. I did get close to spending my first allocation of Solana, and I think I put in 0.
[00:10:45] 1. And it was getting to zero. So obviously I had to restock that, but that was before I had to restock the fuel, excuse me, the food and the ammo. So I kind of took a snapshot of the quantities and at some point I want to go back and do a calculation of consumables, including sol for results, in this case, hydrogen, and just see what it is.
[00:11:08] I have this working hypothesis. I’d then the reason I wanted to kind of wait, cause kind of fits into there is Is there any actual savings, or excuse me, that’s not the right way to say it. Is the actual cost of doing the actions actually make any sense? So, again, I haven’t thought this all the way through, but it would be like, okay, so, I input the four materials, three materials plus Sol, and run it for a while, again.
[00:11:39] Maybe put a slight calculation for time, but with the Sly Assistant, it’s pretty, just check it, record, I have a little piece of paper, I just record, hey, the numbers improves, which means it’s running, because otherwise I wouldn’t even know if it was running. A couple of times, transaction issues, and I just restart the browser.
[00:11:56] Not a lot of time, for sure, but if you count all the inputs to the outputs that you were able to incur, plus the sole, plus the fact that Solano went up in the last week, is, is this at all even a, I mean, even if you calculate the cost of the ship, I mean, Yeah, anyway, so I’m just curious, because I think, again, there’s the talk of you can mine everything and do it yourself, you can buy the things on the marketplace and craft it, or, of course, you can just buy the ship outright.
[00:12:25] I don’t know, it just, I would like to do the investigation, or the research, just to prove my thought that this isn’t really, well, let me back up. It might make sense, but it probably depends on the amount of cargo you have in your fleet. Again, that’s a working theory. It could be wrong. But unlike the price of your ships, which again is a factor, but once you bought them, that’s gone.
[00:12:52] But the amount of cargo directly relates to how much you can mine and transport and, and get. And then, I guess maybe there’s a time thing. I don’t, anyways, you know, you kind of have to start working on a spreadsheet, but it kind of makes me wonder with when you put in the sole transactions, if it just never can pencil out to actually doing the whole thing.
[00:13:13] And I guess that’s what they call return on investment. So anyways, we’ll see. It could try to figure out if I’m going to finish with hydrogen this week, but I just don’t care because once it’s done, it’s done. So then my next thing the next big one is carbon which I think is one star base away.
[00:13:30] So that’s where I’m going to have to finally set up the transport fleet to bring all the carbon back to the CSS. Plus take out the. Raw materials and then also set up the hydrogen mining slash crafting to fuel because my claim stakes can’t keep up. But one thing I did notice when I did the million food and ammo, that at this rate, those won’t keep up either.
[00:13:52] So that’s another factor in all this is I was kind of assuming that my claim stakes would at least keep up. Maybe not with fuel, once I start mining. transporting, but at least the food and the ammo, but now it’s not even feeling like that’s going to happen. So, again, that kind of changes it if I have to keep fine, well anyways, one problem at a time, because again, at any point I can just stop and I still have the resources either for stockpiling or I guess I can just sell them on the marketplace.
[00:14:19] So, anyways, that’s where I’m at kind of quiet week because it’s just still within the mining hydrogen, so not much not much to You know, bring out there. So anyway, so that’s pretty much it. Again kind of wrapping it up totally open. If anybody wants to be a guest love to talk if anybody wants to chat about the week in review, obviously love that can do kind of a round table.
[00:14:36] There if you’re interesting in an interview, definitely would love to interview any of the content creators, any of the star house builders, anything. going on like that. I’d love to, and again, if any team member wants to come on, definitely love to chat about kind of beginner type of things to complement some of the other things I have on my website.
[00:14:54] So, anyways you can go to Intergalactic Carol, just find my contact page, and you can fill out the form there. Again, just to promote my own two Startups projects, again, if you’re interested in any Startups Star Atlas merch, i. e. mugs, please go to intergalacticgear. com if you don’t want to buy a mug, but you want to give me some feedback, I do have a merch survey there, so I’d greatly appreciate knowing what merch you might want to purchase.
[00:15:14] And then if you’re interested in maybe joining a community of Star Atlas gamers, a non guild guild, shall we say, that’s more about threaded discussions and email alerts when you are there, not necessarily a chat platform, please go to intergalacticcoalition. com and there is an interest survey there. Once you get enough people definitely look to spend some time and some money to pay for the platform that I’m thinking of using.
[00:15:37] So anyways thanks for listening. Hope you enjoyed that. Have a great week ahead. This is Matt with Intergalactic Herald.
