This is Matt with Intergalactic Harold. Welcome to my Star Atlas week in review podcast. This is podcast number hundred and eighty seven. Any articles or videos mentioned can be found on my website at intergalactic herald dot com. Just look for weekly recap newsletter two hundred and thirty five. So just quick summary things that happened this past week in Star Atlas. As is typical, the Star Atlas team did their, community, event called the Atlas Brew and went over some different things with the current state of the c four PTR, and that was pretty much it from, both the team and the community. But before I get into discussing what went on there, just wanna remind everybody again of my website, intergalactic carol dot com. Great Star Atlas, resource website with guides, directories, recaps, and a Discord news feed. Though, again, everything is kind of based on the current, game that’s playable, not the, upcoming, c four…
soon to be renamed Sage. once that is released, I’ll probably start doing some content updating. But if you wanna start playing anything now, rated to star or Sage star based or some of the history of some of the other different, game modules and things like that or the UE five, you can definitely still find information about that plus general crypto setup and things like that. Then, I do have a Staros Merch store at intergractic gear dot com. And, also, I’d love to get together that they’re Staros gamer, so I have a…request, survey, interest survey if you wanna get together and, kind of band together, if you’re not interested in joining any of the guilds, but yet still wanna hang out. So do check out intergalactic coalition dot com. So as I mentioned this past week at the Atlas Brew, they went over kinda some different updates. basically, everything is focused on the,
c four PTR public release…public test release, public test realm. Can never remember what the acronym is. so that the, in the past week, phase three was released. They did mention the launch was bumpy, but, they have many of the bug fixes ready to ship. this again, Atlas Brew occurred this last Wednesday, and I’m recording this on Friday night in, Pacific time in the United States. So, they could have already pushed out those by now. So, one thing they mentioned that, they noticed they wanna make a lot of updates and improvements on the claim stakes, make those, improve those mechanics. they then spend some time later in the Atlas brew going over those, so I’ll kinda pause and let those come later. I mentioned they are doing a whole bunch of different updates, some things with warp lanes UI improvements. They do wanna get the crew features in there, and they did note I think I saw an announcement for this has already occurred, but the PTR was gonna be completely reset again.
so maybe that was the, bug fix push too. So, so those are just overview highlights. good section of the Atlas Spruce talked out, was taken over by talking about claim stakes. They noticed in the, PTR only about one percent of usage of claim stakes occur, and they do wanna make claim stakes a major, game loop. So they’ve decided to kinda change up the call to action so that when you start the game and you have a claim stake, it’ll kinda point you in that direction to get those going. they didn’t, again, reminded to think of a claim stake as kinda like deed to land, a deed to land. Excuse me. and…
you do need to bring some initial materials and crews to kinda build stuff on that claim stake. then once it’s been placed, you only have to monitor it every few days. So it’s gonna be different than, I think, the current things, which are, like, twenty four hour timers, but you do need to kinda protect it and things like that. So, yeah, seems more, autonomous but not…safe if, somebody decides to attack or something like that. they also noted that there might be a four, twenty…excuse me, forty eight hour eviction notice. And, again, I haven’t been following much, but I thought there was something that if you’re not, like, paying or taxing or something, then they can kick you off your land. So, I mean, again, it just much more elaborate mechanism than things we’ve got used to in the Sage Starbase and, of course, the, crime stakes within the marketplace are just a redemption type of thing. So,
they did go over that the, Nemesis engine. Again, this is the one that, powers the NPCs in the game. they’re testing different scenarios. So I guess, like, whole bunch of titans spawn, which isn’t practical. But, again, this is a test. They’re trying to, test different scenarios and things like that. So, yeah. And then there was some, discussion with some of the community members there in chat about, you know, different ideas and things like that. one idea they did throw out is that maybe after the main net launch, putting into the game, player transaction options, stack transaction options, you know, adding some more features. So it does look like, again, if not for sure, they’re definitely already starting to think about, well, once we launch, what can we do? So, feels like, again, there’ll be a constant game development going forward once again. Sage, the official name come you know, product comes out on Zinc and things like that.
they kinda slipped in at the end that they don’t think, this phase three is gonna test that or take that long because, things are going well. But, again, there’s…still a phase four where we get…the test will have our actual assets moved into the game, things like that. And then if I remember correctly, that’s where they start the marketing campaign, both for Sage and Zinc. So anyway, so, yeah, it was very, full of updates and ideas and brainstorming and…transparency about bugs haven’t been fixed and didn’t test that and things like that. But, again, that’s sort of the phase we’re in, so kinda all made sense. so just real quick, thinking about the state of start out this this past week. again, definitely, they’re making good progress. Glad to see that the phase three came out even though it was a few days later. again, it was that’s supposed to come out before,
Labor Day, United States, but, you know, week later, no big deal. also glad to hear more focus on the clam snakes, but that’s only selfishly because that’s, kinda one of the game loops I’m now more curious about, than some of the other ones. but, again…yeah, you know, it’s definitely an object. So, and…again, it’s part of the c four. So claim stakes was supposed to be a big point of, purpose. So, anyways yeah. So, not much else to think about. Again, I just really think, again, glad to get all these updates progressing forward. Changes are happening quite quickly in the test environment. And, again, I’m hoping…behind the scenes, of course, they have a gigantic plan on what they’re trying to accomplish each of the phases. But, yeah, everything seems good there. just stand up again talking about my journey playing Star Atlas and, again, the current Sage starbase.
still mining my, copper ore, trying to get all the materials together for a Mamba x, at this point. Who knows if that’s even possible? But, again, earning, zinc experience points for doing that. So, again, whether I truly get that, I’m sure all these resources, again, will transfer over. So if, that final ship craft doesn’t actually occur, not the end of the world…Continuing to, transport the copper ore back to the central space station, haven’t run out yet. So I decided just to keep it going, but not taking out more fuel. Excuse me. food. Yeah. I guess fuel. Don’t need ammo because I’m running a miner. So anyways. Yeah. So, that’s just, what I’m kinda doing, all on automation. So pretty yeah, just make sure it’s running each morning. So, anyways,
yeah, that’s pretty much it this past week in Star Atlas again. Just, reminder, check out my website, intergalactic carol dot com, Star Atlas resource guide website, check out my Star Atlas merch store, intergalactic gear dot com. And, again, love to get together with other Star House gamers, so, be happy to host a community. planning to do it on a different platform than Discord just for, better email notifications and…threaded discussions. just something kind of as a different place to hang out than, the classic Discord, chat window. So you can check that out at intergalactic coalition dot com. Other than that, this was the past week in Star Atlas. I’m Matt with Intergalactic Herald. Have a great week ahead…
