Hi. This is Matt with the Intergalactic Herald. Welcome to my Star Atlas Week in Review podcast. This is podcast number a hundred and seventy three. Any articles or videos mentioned can be found on my website at intergalactic herald dot com.
Just look for weekly recap newsletter two hundred and twenty one. So just a quick summary of things that happened this past week in Star Atlas. pretty much it was just the not sure, but, I think they did put out a video recap of kind of the past year or something. I think, yeah. Anyways, I haven’t listened to it yet.
So if I listen to it, it’ll go in the next week’s. But, yeah, that was one other thing that did come out this week. But the only thing I listened to was the Atlas Bruce. I’ll go over that in a second. But before I get to that, just wanna mention some startless things I’m working on.
Of course, my website intergalacticcarol dot com. It’s a great resource website for guides, directories, recap, and my Discord news feed. Though I will be first to admit it is related to the previous versions of the game UE5 and Sage.
have not yet added anything because the new c four is in the public release. And, again, it’s not done yet, so we’ll see. so, again, if you wanted to get active in any of the older things, definitely check it out. Newer stuff sorry. Just don’t have content for that yet.
So also do have a Star Atlas merch store at intergalactic gear dot com. You can check that out. I do have some selection, but or, actually, I take that back. I think as of…well, not this week, in a couple weeks, the, actual checkout module will be disabled. I had to downgrade my, Shopify ecommerce store account.
So, yeah, I probably should stop promoting that. But anyways, if you wanted to buy a mug I would be more than happy to upgrade it again. So you can always reach out on email for that. And then lastly I do have…
a idea to get together with other star house gamers, kind of a non guild, so you can check out information about that at intergalacticcoalition dot com. So as I mentioned, the main, thing that at least I engaged with this past week and listened to recording was the Star Atlas brew. Again, recordings are done by Star House TV, so you can get the entire recording there. If you want a audio recap, if you’re already listening to this podcast, came out a few days ago, so you’ve already got that. But this is first time listening.
Do have, you can subscribe to the podcast or those are located on my website. So this, Atlas Brew, Jose went through kind of, just things that were going on, and then Michael Wagner, the CEO, actually jumped on. Apparently, he, not thought that he was bored, but he ran out of AI tokens and had nothing else to do. So,
maybe he should run out more often and come to the brew. But, anyways, so, things that were updated this, past week, some updates on the RPG tabletop game, coming out. was also mentioned that in the UE five version, they’re actually starting to put…
very initial, putting the actual claim stakes in there as a functional…object and stuff like that. And then, many things about the current, public release, test of the c four were mentioned. Things like putting in, taking some of the, MPC functionality from Halsim and moving it over to c four, talking about, I guess, version two of combat. Didn’t even know about version one, but apparently we’re on to version two already. And then they are able to get this diplomacy module in and getting the claim or excuse me, cultivation claims, starting to work in there too.
So,
again, Michael Oigner did a kind of update and just rapid fire there. So those are the ones at least I remember to type down. So or type into my notes. They also mentioned that AI has definitely…speed sped up their development process. Michael Wagner mentioned some things on that.
one of those, kinda AI assisted things might be actually getting some crew member attributes into the game…
and then even, they alluded to that there might be, like, an AI agent we don’t have access to kinda…play the game on its own and make some passive income. So it kinda sounds like perhaps this is the future of automation in c four, kind of, around AI agents. So that was pretty cool. And then there was just a couple, things, that caught my attention is, kinda again, it sounded like the Atlas Pro was just a free flow of information. one, and inter interacting with the people there in the chat.
it was mentioned that, some people were talking about kind of the complexity of the game, but, it was mentioned again that that’s by design, so that people can establish their own niches within the game. So, again, the idea that now one person can do everything, you have to kinda work together and, of course, that makes sense,
because then we all have a chance. So, also as mentioned, they are working on a solar trainer mode because of all this complexity. But, again, that would be a way to learn and kinda the classic game mechanism they talked about years ago, which is you should just play the game to learn how to play the game. so, you know, you don’t need a separate tutorial. It’s part of the game.
and then, near the end, again, they were kinda going back and forth on questions that were coming from people, that were at the event kinda in the chat. And…
I guess I’ve heard this before, but it kinda just really resonated this time that, yeah, that things are supposed to take a long time because this is a persistent world. And, Michael Wagner used the example of StarCraft. It’s not gonna be, like, thirty minutes to build up your base and go fight. I mean, things at the higher level are gonna take a really long time. and, again, it totally feels fine.
I mean, definitely…I mean, ultimately, I hope for there are some kinda quick things, but, that always felt like that was the five version of the game and, you know, this blockchain economy strategy one. Yeah. I mean, it makes sense. It would take a long time. So, yeah, so there’s actually quite a bit of things.
there was even some mention kind of on progress with…
even I think they were saying, like, just two weeks into it and how much they’ve done, how much more they think they can do. And, for the first time, it’s kinda funny. Michael Wagner was who’s always been very hesitant to mention dates was like, oh, Yeah. That’s gonna take a week.
That’s and I, again, I think they’re really seeing now with the,
progress capability with the AI assistance and the programming is allowing them to, you know, actually put things in the calendar and have realistic dates on them. So, I mean, that’s really cool. So anyway. So, yeah, that was, at least the things that, stood out to me from the Atlas Brew. And, again, if you wanna listen to the whole thing, Star Atlas TV YouTube channel, is a great place to always get recaps at least for the official…
Star Atlas events and things like that. So so, move on to the statement. what’s the state of Star Atlas, this past week, things? Yeah. It does sound like the development’s really in high gear even with the small team, and Michael Wagner has been constantly mentioning how the new AI…development…
thing is just, like he said, he started out a couple other companies and the amount of resources and time and people needed to accomplish things. So, yeah, again, I don’t understand all those nitty gritties, but it makes sense. You know…
For me, anyways, still feeling like c four just is the potential for, you know, a very interesting game. Again, not…every…type of game, but the game that it is. Strategy…economy based, definitely the benefits of the blockchain. Yeah. I mean, it sounds really interesting…
I…
oh, I guess I’ll get that in my journey. I did try it out. So, anyways, also glad to hear they are experimenting as, limited that they can do the reduction of definite high reduction of staff on the UE five. But the fact of finally getting some of the objects beyond ships into UE five by claim stakes is, and, again, I think they had crafting hubs originally. I think so.
but, anyways, yeah. So it’s, yeah, that sounds really good. The only downside again with the small UE five team left is that things like bug fixes for things like multiplayer, which the, Super Phoenix style is working on and some of the other ones have just there’s just nobody knows how to do that anymore. So, yeah, I mean, that is unfortunate, but, again, cuts had to be made, it sound alike. So, anyways yeah.
So,
yeah, I think a really great update. again, always happy that the Atlas Brews exists so we can get some of this stuff. don’t have to wade through all the Discord feeds. when you can’t find things, you know, just check-in for an hour or in my case, listen for half an hour on Fridays to kinda keep up. So, again, keep me updated on things I’m doing or playing Star Atlas.
Again, still playing Sage Mining. Still would like to get a Mombax, moving forward there. I did go ahead and splurge. I mean, it wasn’t a ton of money, but still, it’s like, what is it? Seventy five bucks for a claim or level tier two, cultivation, claim.
So I went ahead and, did that because it kind of fits my…
guess of what my play style will be. but one, kind of nice, thing I wasn’t expecting is it sure definitely helped my zinc, XP rank. I’m it seems to be making a difference, so I…
guess cool. Yeah. and then I kind of alluded to that. I did try the PTR…
I just have to admit I did log this as one of the feedback. I just couldn’t read the fonts on my twenty four inch monitor. So, yeah, I, yeah, hope they give us some options. Again, it doesn’t have to be everybody has to see big fonts, but should be nice if we had some control, for us who…might, be showing our age. So, but, unfortunately, what little more time I was able to play, yeah, I just haven’t had time with business and family things.
So…
still would like to check it out more, but they kind of alluded to with this combat v two…module change. They’re gonna have to pretty much wipe the game to start over. But, again, it’s a test. Nobody should expect anything to be, yeah, you’re just looking for things and trying things. So, again, if I have some time, I’d definitely like to take a look at it, but, you know, I just can’t.
So, So, anyway, so, yeah, that’s pretty much it, this past week in Star Atlas. So, again, totally open if anybody wants to get on the podcast with me and chat about Star Atlas, you can reach out to me on my website, intergalactic carol dot com or through Discord…
Just I post pretty frequently in the content creator channel if you need to get my, Discord name. and, again, do check out my website, Interacting Harold. Totally outdated, but, hey. You know? It’s a place where I’ll be putting stuff.
merch store, interactive gear dot com. non guild at interactive collision dot com. So, anyways, that was this, past week in Star Atlas. Thanks for listening. My name is Matt with the Intergalactic Herald.
Have a great week ahead…
