Hi. This is Matt with the Intergalactic Herald. Welcome to my Startless Week in Review podcast. This is podcast number one hundred and seventy. Any articles or videos mentioned can be found on my website at intergalactic herald dot com.
Just look for weekly recap newsletter two one eight…
So just a quick summary of things that happened this past week in Star Atlas. There was the, weekly, rigor Atlas brew from the community, from the team. there was a lorekeeper event that does the kickoff to the RPG game, and then there was announcement of a town hall. So before I get to that, just go over a few things related to the things I’m working on Star Atlas. Of course, first is my website intergalactic hero dot com.
It’s a great, Star Atlas resource website with guides, directories, recaps, and a Discord news feed. I will, of course, admit much of the content is for previous versions of the game or the current game. So, getting a little bit outdated. do also have a Star House merch store open for business at intergalactic gear dot com. Not a lot of selection but, yeah, something I worked on.
And then lastly, definitely would like to get together with other Star House gamers who aren’t joining guilds. You can check out my website to learn more about what I’m calling the Intergalactic Coalition, and that’s at intergalactic coalition dot com. So as I mentioned this past week,
was the weekly Atlas Brew, and it, mentioned a few things. One, they apparently did have a all hands company meeting, which, now makes perfect sense when, you know, there’s a town hall announcement. So, definitely feels like they’re moving forward on that. There were some updates on the RPG game that was coming, which was, I think, launched on the…Thursday, lorekeepers meeting. Talked more about the Halsim roadmap and things that are coming, but it was kinda mentioned that just to keep focus on, the PTR, the public release of the c four, that Halsim’s kinda gonna be taking a little backseat to that so that they basically can focus…
people on one product at a time. So totally makes sense. and that was the majority of it. And then near the end or the last third, shall we say, Michael Wagner, the CEO, got on to mention a few things. And one thing he did, allude to was this diplomacy module that they have, I guess, previously talked about, but kinda mentioned that it’s something he’d really like to…see worked on after c four.
And, I guess the main point of this, and again, it’s all speculative, let’s, you know, get the current stuff out before we start talking about what’s immediately after. But, I think this is in kind of just response to some of the community that, you know, there’s not a lot you can do with your polis other than, lock it and in the lockers and vote on proposals…but the original white paper…had a whole diplomacy type of thing. So,
in that sense, I think it’s very appropriate to start kinda thinking about what’s, beyond, and I wouldn’t be surprised and totally speculation on my part even though I know the team is really small right now, that once they get, c four into the testing, you know, again, kind of that’s a major milestone. So you do wanna start looking to the next thing. So, yeah, definitely always thinking ahead is makes a lot of sense. So so he mentioned a number of things he’d like to see in that, but I think the biggest takeaway was, again, this would allow, gameplay mechanics to relate to diplomacy and how that could relate to things that are happening in c four. So, again, totally think it was great.
And then you kinda ended on one last thing which, to be honest, kinda…
makes sense. nothing we’ve talked about before, because it didn’t exist, which was AI agents and MCP connections. but, yeah, I mean, two or three years ago, this literally didn’t exist. And so he kind of just talked about things. And now what I’m not sure is…
again, we’ll see what the town hall has. But if c four now has this kind of capability built in, so, again, we’ll see. but I think the real key is the discussion that using AI now yourself could be a way to, do automation, which has always been a,
both a…
well, a necessity, without the, like, for example, the sly assistant right now. I mean, Sage is I mean, nobody would play it. So, but as even Michael Wagner mentioned is, you know, we’d he said they didn’t wanna think of the game just as a whole bunch of bots running around. And, like, well, but that is what AI agents would be. So, but, again, I think, this wasn’t an announcement.
This wasn’t really talking. This was just some ideas. So I, nevertheless, on the other hand, am totally on board with using technology we have now to enhance things. And if, again, that can be built in to allow the proper connections and the APIs or MCP servers, what you know, whatever technology they end up using to give people options. I mean, it kinda you’d have to do it.
I mean, you don’t have to do it now. But, I mean, it makes sense to do it if you’re developing a game. So, anyway, so, yeah, that was a quick,
or those things that were interesting to me. Again, if you wanna listen to the whole Atlas Bruce, the YouTube channel, Star House TV, has it. And, of course, if you’re listening to this podcast, you already got my AI summary of the, Atlas Bruce a few days ago. So then on Thursday, there was a lorekeeper’s meeting. as anybody who listens Wow knows, I’m just I’m glad there exists lore, but, yeah, just…
hard to get into it at this point. glad there’s this RPG game, but just haven’t been in. I just never played those games before. So, again, not there. But, again, you know, there’s many different ways people can get…
engaged with Sarawas, so I’m glad there’s all these different spectrums of, gameplay ideas and things like that. So, again, if you’re on this podcast feed, you already got this summary of that, but, again, StarOS TV has the whole recording. So and then the last thing, posted on Discord was a town hall announcement for next week, I think Thursday. I can’t didn’t look that closely. So but the announcement talked about they will kinda give, kinda current status of both Project Galia Zinc and c four.
And then, that was in the Discord announcement. But then on the Atlas Brew, Michael Wagner did say they are gonna share some tentative timelines. So, again, keyword…tentative. But, yeah, I think that’s, yeah, time, and I’ll talk a little more about my thoughts on the town hall next. And then the final thing Michael Wagner just kind of was answering a community question about,
multi accounts, and I totally forgot, just because it’s…
it it’s been kind of…glossed over, to be honest. That c four, again, has four components. So one of those was the component of council rake. And he mentioned again that the whole purpose of council rake is to, address multi accounting, reward asset holders, open up things. So, again, it sort of focuses you wanting to concentrate all your resources.
So, again, that was nice to just get a reminder again about one of the other…
c’s in c four, that hasn’t really been talked about a lot recently. So, anyway so, yeah, moving on to the next section, just kinda my thoughts on the state of Star OS after this past week. always good to get Raker updates each week. So I again, I’m glad the team is continuing that even if they are, shorter staffed. I know the economy forum seems to have disappeared…Lorekeepers continues and again, leveraging that with the…RPG game is great.
I have to admit it was kind of nice just to hear about some of the future things even though I said, you know, let’s just focus on what we’re doing. But you know, remembering the larger vision, the grand, plan for the entire game, even if the UE five part has been diminished, I think, I’m just speaking for myself, but I would imagine others write that, yeah, sure, it’s a two d game right now, but as we’re starting to see c four, the graphics are definitely moving forward again even if it’s not a full immersive,
Unreal Engine type of…
platform. you know, you can’t really sit in your ship, things like that. I think, to me, the realism is kicking in, and to add some diplomacy to what’s there in addition to the combat and the other economic things, I actually think is really great. so, even if, again, that’s the next phase, again, it’s just still always cool to see different, things that are coming. And, yeah, I think it’s just interesting.
So, also, do you think on the total, or just on the specific thing about the diplomacy…
yeah, I think, you know, it’s good that we have the lockers. It’s, good that the DAO exists. It’s good that the proposals exist, the pips, but, you know, again, none of this is gameplay. It’s sort of this other thing if you’re into it, which again is great if people are into that. But, you know, having some of that actually in the game, I think, yeah, would be really great and was goes back to the original white paper and the original vision.
I mean, my only thing and, again, I don’t, we haven’t heard anything. This is the next phase, so it doesn’t matter. But…
some of the examples Michael Wagner was giving, like, well, you know…
voting power could, lead to something. And again, that’s fine. There’s part of the game, but hopefully that doesn’t affect people’s ability to actually play. I should be able to, you know, even if it’s restricted or in a smaller place or whatever. again, I know government exists.
You gotta work within the parameters, but, just with a lot of the ability to…steer with large, stakeholders, especially given the small number of current players, hopefully, again, I’d hate for…
that to be controlled by a few just because they have many. Now, again, not saying that ultimately that’s not how the game should work, but at this early juncture where the number of players have definitely diminished, hopefully, that, you know, doesn’t stop me from wanting to do whatever I wanna do type of thing. so again, we’ll see again. There’s it was just ideas for the future. And then finally, just again specifically talking about the town hall.
Really great that it’s coming. If any past indications are continued, again we should get a lot of information. So again those stated will be Project Dahlia, Zinc, and C4. And has been mentioned…
Let me double check where I read that…
Yeah. Oh, Yeah. Michael Wagner said on the, brew about the when the origin campaign for Zinc ends, he said, well, yeah, it will end when they launch the main net of…
Zinc. But, of course, they can’t launch the main net of Zinc until they have c four ready, so that means the PTR is first because Zinc excuse me. C four is the reason that they’ll get millions of transactions on Zinc. So, again, they are tied at the hip. So, yeah…
totally all makes sense. And, hopefully, again, those will be mentioned and, again, reminders of all that. I did find actually the inclusion of Project Galia to be kind of interesting, again, being that the UE five version of the game and sure feels like they’ve de emphasized the number of resources on that. So, yeah. But, again, it could just simply be a catch up as has been, kinda traditional in a lot of the town halls where we just see what’s going on and they release a new version of the UE five engine game.
now I think about it, they haven’t I don’t think they released anything…
since the last staffing. So, again, it would be good. But really, hopefully excuse me. They really focus on the c four Zinc component. tentative time line’s totally good.
but I think also needs to be firm that, hey. They’re gonna get some of this stuff out or at least…give us…
a zone of where we’re at. And, if I had to speculate if it will actually announce the PTR being live, Kinda lean toward maybe yeah. Because, again, they can control this date of when this town hall is. It doesn’t fit any previous precedent to have one on the end of May, if anything. Traditionally, it’s been, middle of the year in July and then end of the year.
So, again, just total random guess that, you know, that might be the release or at least the announcement of when the PTR will come. Or just, hey. We’re gonna teach you guys all the parameters before we launch it, and so it’s in two weeks or something like that. And I think that would be fine too. they did many…technical deep dives on past town halls to lead up to the next thing, which then unfortunately didn’t get released.
But, again, hopefully, all this has alignment. So, anyways yeah. So,
definitely looking forward to town hall…next week…
Yeah. Cool. So final point, just, my journey points are atlas. So, again, I’ve been playing the sage, trying to get some resources to, craft a Mamba x. still stuck.
I’m pretty sure it’s copper ore. Unfortunately, I have completely forgotten what I’m doing because literally that’s all I’m doing. So, whatever star base I’m mining that on, took out enough food and, fuel that I haven’t had to send my, transport fleet out…to refill it. But if I remember correctly, I think I need, like, five million of them or something, and maybe I’m at four. So, I mean, this is a long term thing.
So, we’ll see. actually, I just realized No. Actually, it doesn’t matter.
I was gonna say, oh, the PTR charges everything, but I’m like, No. It’s not the real game. So, you know, I might…
I’m thinking this out loud. I might just break down at some point and…
just buy whatever resources and craft that Mombax just to complete that before the, c four, comes out. But that’d be the official one, and, again, that still feels like months away. So, again, the other reason for doing all this is to earn the, Zinc experience points. Been pretty steady on whatever rank number I’m at…
Yeah. So, I think I actually got to level nine. So that was kinda unexpected. Didn’t seem like my numbers were moving that much. So, anyways yeah.
So just continuing to mine to get the resources and the zinc. So that’s, pretty much it. So, again, just to wrap up, totally open. If anybody wants to be a guest on the podcast, please reach out. Discord website, again, when you’re on the website, intergalactic carol dot com.
