[00:00:00] Hi, this is Matt with Intergalactic Herald. Welcome to my start list Week in Review podcast. This is podcast number 129. Any articles or videos mentioned can be found on my website@intergalacticherald.com. Just look for a weekly recap, newsletter number 170. Yeah, 177. Lots of seven. There’s, anyways just a quick summary of things that are going over today.

[00:00:21] This past week in Star Atlas, there was basically two things. The Atlas Brew occurred and the economic form also occurred, and then there was just one interesting announcement was, for me anyways, on the, star os Discord about ledger support for the new UUE five version. But before I get to that, just want to quickly mention a few of my star OS projects.

[00:00:41] Of course, my main one is my website, inter galactic carroll.com. It’s a great resource for many things about Star Atlas. I have a guilds directory of other things like content creators. Tools guild’s already mentioned. You can also get a couple different recaps. One is my weekly news recap of other content creators.

[00:00:58] Videos and articles can also get audio summary recaps of the Starless community events. And then my latest thing that I have created is a star Discord news feed. So you can not have to check this Starla Discord, but you can get. The announcement channels messages sent there sent directly to your email.

[00:01:18] So you can check all that out@intergalacticharald.com. I do also have a Star House merch store@intergalacticgear.com. It’s open for business. Just a few items you need to spend more time adding things, but you can get some mugs and a few different wall art. Also I do have a merch survey there, so if you want to gimme some feedback on some of the merch items you’d like to see, I’d greatly appreciate that.

[00:01:38] And that again is intergalactic gear.com. And then I am trying to start a Star Atlas community. Basically it’s a non Guild. So for Star Atlas gamers who are not interested in joining one of the star Atlas Guilds, but nevertheless want to hang out with other star Atlas gamers, you can go to intergalactic coalition.com, fill out an interest survey there.

[00:01:56] Once I get enough people interested, I’ll go ahead and set up this community. It’ll be a little bit different platform than you may be used to. Something like a Discord. It’s actually on a platform called Circle. So it’s much more about threaded discussions. You can get email alerts. You can not have to just deal with kind of real time chat, but much more of discussion.

[00:02:14] So again, check that out@intergalacticcoalition.com. So let’s go ahead and get into the bulk of the content that happened this past week in Star Atlas. As I mentioned, there was a Star Atlas Brew, and then there was the economy team did their monthly form. I’ll actually go with the small thing first.

[00:02:30] One of the things that was mentioned on the Star ATS Discord, if you have been checking out the new update to the UE five version of start out with, so this is again, the kind of 3D game. Shooter racing, exploration, the what is it, open beta or alpha? Pre-public beta, private beta.

[00:02:50] I’m not sure. Something. There’s a lot there. Anyways the Nous thing was you can do progression and there was a whole bunch of questions about crew and what to do, and part of it was, they did not launch with ledger support. So if you had your crew in your. Ledger, which most people probably do.

[00:03:07] There wasn’t a really good way to get that in there. So it sounds like they’re working on providing that support for Ledger. Soon the, I can’t remember now where I saw it, but anyways, nothing yet, but they definitely are aware of that. The Atlas Brew was basically any of the updates coming up.

[00:03:23] What was it? What do they call it? Announcements, I can’t remember. But anyways the bulk of it was though going over one of the most recent star os Dow proposals. So if you’re interested in that, you can check that out. The economic form was great. If you’ve ever listened to my podcast in the past, I usually don’t really find it as interesting as typical.

[00:03:44] But I also always say I think it’s ’cause I watch it late at night. This time I actually did not watch it late at night. I actually watched it coming back from a family trip. Yeah, it really is. Tough to listen tonight ’cause I found this one way more interesting. So I’ll have to remember that in the future, maybe late at night is not the time to listen to economic data.

[00:04:03] So anyways both the Atlas Brew and the Economic Forum, you can check those out in their entirety at Star House tv. The YouTube channel, I got links in my news recap if you wanna check that out. Number 1 77 on my website. If you’d rather have shorter AI summaries of those, you can check those out on my website too.

[00:04:21] And I think they’re about three or four minute kind of summaries. So a couple interesting tidbits from the economic form. One was some data on active players. So those are definitely interesting. So with the most recent UE five upgrade it’s around 500 players was mentioned in there.

[00:04:39] They also mentioned they were trying to track how people have been doing progressions and only a few people have gotten to the top level per character, but it was mentioned. That’s the point. Wasn’t supposed to be easy and it’s only been out for a couple weeks. The interesting one too was they mentioned about around 500 players were active in wholesome.

[00:04:56] And I was like, oh, that’s interesting. So again, I don’t know, I think in the past we’ve heard like a thousand people are playing sage that. Interesting. Again, interesting numbers. The other one they mentioned on Halon was that there was a total of 6,000 players in Halon. And I forgot the criteria that they used if they completed a quest or something like that.

[00:05:16] But again, those are, I think, healthy numbers for the state of the current games and the marketing behind them and the awareness and things like that. And then the other thing that was mentioned near the end of the economy forum, and again. It’s not everything that was mentioned. These are things that are interesting to me.

[00:05:31] Again, if you wanna listen for yourself, there’s those two ways you can do it Was this concept of, black goo and I really thought that was a placeholder term, but it sounds like it’s really a thing. But what was interesting about it was this is gonna be something that you can only get in the UE five version of the game, but it will be needed in the sage version of the game.

[00:05:51] So it’ll actually create a marketplace for people to actually go into UE five in order to. And again, it wasn’t clear if this was experience mining or something like that, but I, anyways, I think that’s a great development and I think I’d heard it before and just assumed it was like a buzzword or code name or something like that.

[00:06:10] So we’ll see where that all works out. Anyway, so that was pretty much it. We are in between town halls during start of the summer, so not surprising. There wasn’t actually a lot mentioned in the past week. And then I’m recording this a day later. As I may or may not have mentioned, I was on a family trip, so it wasn’t near.

[00:06:27] My recording equipment. And I got home later due to traffic, so I’m recording this later than I normally do. So apologize for people who are used to my releasing these on Sunday nights. But hopefully I’ll be able to edit this and get it out Monday night. Anyways, I’m moving on the next section, my thoughts on the status star atlas at the present time.

[00:06:45] Definitely the UE five update beyond the Ryzen. Did a quick video. I think a week or two ago I think there’s already been one new update to that to handle some of the characters that were not performing well. And then again, it sounds like their ledger support will be coming soon. So definitely glad it’s out.

[00:07:02] I think it’s great. There’s been some content creators. There was a mini tournament with some of the content creators, so definitely a lot more interest in this version. And not to say that this is better or worse than, Sage or any of the other. Things. But definitely there not surprised on bugs, but again, it’s nice to see that those are being addressed quickly in the sense of not waiting till, the next release again this year it’s been a month or two cadence, but it’s good to see that they’re able to get those out the fixes out right away.

[00:07:31] Progression sounds really good. Does sound hard, but I guess that’s the point. And again, like I mentioned, that kind of ledger support coming. Oh, one thing that was mentioned, the economic form near the end. And I think this was probably the first what is the joke? Inside joke, announcement of announcement.

[00:07:46] The Chris, the head of economics was saying, oh, the town hall, it’s gonna change everything. And it sounded like. When he meant everything was something about economy. We only have, a couple more days to wait for that. And I think since then they’ve even posted in the Discord something about, oh, this will change everything.

[00:08:01] We’ll see. I beyond the Horizon had a tweet and he asked, what do you think everything is and, or what’s coming? And I went off of what I said on a couple podcasts ago. I was thinking one could be. A mobile version of Hal Sim or even some sort of alignment with Epic Studios.

[00:08:18] Epic Games. And now that we’re hearing that there may be an economy component. Some of the past things that have been talked about is moving on to their own blockchain or a copy of the blockchain or something like that, and some thoughts on, what was it, the, locker changing the So Salona fees, which I would definitely be totally for.

[00:08:36] So we’ll see. Again, these could be what do you call it, faints or diversions or whatever. And some of this stuff there is still another town hall, which I don’t think anybody has talked about what the next one’s gonna be. So again who knows where all this stuff would do, but again, that’s good.

[00:08:53] And I do the kind of cadence, and again, I’m. Only waiting two weeks without hype. That’s perfectly fine too. Yeah, so that’s pretty much it. Again, it was calm, not calm before the storm, but quiet before between town halls. So last section is my journey points. Start with again, just still working through my goal to get a Mamba X, though I think there might be a possibility that that, they may not refill ’em. I don’t know. Again, who knows? And at this point I’m, I guess I’m still reminding resources and those resources will have some purpose. Still doing that. Getting close to bringing back, let’s see, what was I doing? Titanium Moore almost done. That was out on vacation. My computer kept moving things and it didn’t crash and it didn’t Sage didn’t lock up, so that was cool.

[00:09:34] So it’s getting near, under a million. Left to go. Be able to move back the mining of, luminate, I think. Yeah, still moving go forward. Steady as she goes type of thing. So that’s cool. Do definitely wanna take a look at UE five. But now I know this kind of crew and ledger, one of my goals I was looking at was to go through all my crew and kind of pick one to be my main crew member.

[00:09:55] But found out after you put him in Sage, there’s really no way to see him. I would hope that if they have ledger support, that would be visible even if they’re in Sage. I dunno. We’ll figure it out. Somebody else’s, I’m sure already thought of this. So anyway, so yeah, that’s pretty much it.

[00:10:09] So we’ll see. Again, podcast should go out Monday night. We’re less than 48 hours away from the next town hall. So we’ll definitely see what changes everything to, hype up what their discord post was. So anyway, so that’s pretty much it. Thanks for listening.
